I didn't apologise for anything. I remember the discussion and my memory tells me the owner of BH said that their food had always been called BH. The other food was someone elses even when you insisted otherwise. The thread that I posted has owner of BH saying that it isn't branded. Which is why I posted it. I insisted that it was made in a certain place and the owner insisted it wasn't. Funnily the place I said it was made now lists it on their site as BH.

That is ok, apology accepted.

And so we do not have another extremely long 'discussion' about this food here is one of the threads that it was originally mentioned in with the owner saying it isn't branded but is called Holistic Lamb & Rice. I guess she branded it because of the confusion. http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/182949-holistic-dog-cat/page__p__4147588__fromsearch__1#entry4147588

Holistic Lamb and Rice is/was different. BH has always been BH No it was actually called Holistic Lamb & Rice. There were a couple out at the same time called that, most of them didn't have as good ingredients.

It has come a long way from the days of being called Holistic Lamb and Rice in a plain white bag. I still need therapy!

Poppy doesn't give anyone a chance to pat her on her head. The minute that hand comes out she spins around and presents her butt

I didn't even do a course! I did a one day ride along with a mobile groomer and then decided to start my own rather than go through a franchise. I thought I would be mainly doing washing but pretty much did SWF all day long. Didn't do too much fancy stuff. I had been showing ponies & Arabian horses so was quite used to clipping and trimming etc I mustn't have been too bad as most people re-booked me. 12 years later I am still traumatised by the experience! I get PTSD picking up a brush to groom by own dogs

eCollar on the dog. A proper one not a fencing one. And of course a trainer to help you use it. Before anyone has hysterics this is probably the only situation that I would suggest using it. This dog does not have long to live.

Training A Highly Excitable 65Kg Neo Mastiff

And I would rather the owner hangs on to the dog whilst she is seeking help rather than having her extremely large dog pull her over and jump on other dogs. Or are you happy for the dog to get away from the woman? I am surprised by this post as I thought you were more sensible. -

Professional dog trainer ASAP! I came across a smallish woman walking one of these the other week. As we approached she walked to the nearest fence and wrapped the lead around the fence and held on to the lead like that. I was a bit alarmed but it seemed effective. -
Thanks for the tip on the new VAN. I was never that comfortable with the ingredients in the old mix. This new one even looks like something Amber could eat.

The Grain Free version of Black Hawk does not have rice in it. The Original version does.

I got home once to find the dogs sitting at the open gateway! Someone had obviously gone in and also gone right into my mudroom as that door was open too. There were fingerprints on the window sill! Was pretty impressed the dogs were just sitting inside the garden.

Maybe try putting cotton wool down his ears next time so sounds are a bit muffled? -
How To Get Your Dog To Take Pills
JulesP replied to Yonjuro's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I just went and operated on a cheese Stringer to see if they might work. They were pretty easy to hollow out. I cut it in half and then hollowed it. Didn't squish back together super well but they are capsule shaped. Might be worth a go. -

Henry's too. Mind you his are only the flea and worm tablets. Maybe i'd be nicer if it was everyday. But he is the master of spitting them out, so i dont even try hiding them anymore. Just shove 'em down! The others are smart (stupid?) enough to just eat it in the chicken/cheese/bacon or leftovers they're given. Amber has 3 lots of tablets daily. I just shove them down. :) She comes and sits and waits for the shoving so it obviously doesn't bother her too much. -

Poppy is such a funny dog. We were at dog school today, my school is very very busy. She ignored heaps of dogs, said hello to a couple of not really in control dogs whose owners were letting them bounce around. Right near the end she got vey intense about 3 black kelpie cross type dogs. They were not anywhere near her or paying her any attention or doing anything but standing around. But she did the go very still, glare thing that she does. Interestingly each one of these dogs had a yellow bandana on to indicate that they need space! I wonder what energy they were giving off for Poppy to act like that. -
I wouldn't have been able to help in the breeders section though as I am not currently a breeder :) Amstar they are wanting to know if you are a registered breeder with the ANKC in your state?

My parents had a GR that sounds a lot like Justice. He was a well bred dog and mum took him to pre-puppy school and all the way through to his obedience certificate (CD type standard). He was always really really nervy. It seemed like he hated going for walks. You would almost have to drag him around. Wasn't much fun for anyone. He also did some biting. The final straw came when he was outside going nuts at some workmen and Dad went out to see what was going on and Ben attacked him. Re-bound aggression I guess. They had him PTS at that stage. They had tried lots of drugs too. The vet thought he might have had some some of brain tumour. I didn't live at home when they had him but did house sit once and remember being quite 'WTF' about this dog that hated being walked. He would literally shake, like Justice. I really hope that coming off the meds helps Snook. The only other dog that I had heard of (read about in a book) that had such extreme anxiety had lead paint poisoning. You don't have any lead paint anywhere do you? -
Well if DDD and I both give you a trust fund you can buy one!
