  1. I've got one of the little DOOG bags too and I use that more than the bigger one. Wouldn't fit a big phone in it but it is good for keys and poo bags.
  2. I found a warm coat in winter helped my old girl with spine issues.
  3. The phone pocket is a bit small, especially if you have a cover on the phone. And I was putting a smaller iphone in it. I really like these belts - http://www.spibelt.com.au/ They stretch out to take your stuff.
  4. Well done for seeking advice and then taking it. Good luck with Annie
  5. 'Come' for me is a formal recall. I use 'here', if I mean get your bums back but I don't care how you position yourself once back. They usually return to heel, which makes me look like a super trainer
  6. I used a kid's hospital drink when Amber wouldn't eat anything. It is called Pediasure and you can get it in Chemists Warehouse - http://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/searchresult.asp?terms=pediasure&SearchSection=products&requery=1
  7. What about a raised pet bowl? Like these - http://lyrebirdpetfurniture.net/diningstations.html
  8. I would be avoiding exercise that involves running and pivoting - ball throwing, frisbees etc.
  9. Nope, no fun in chasing something that's already dead Jules :) That's why you wave it around so she thinks it is still alive! She may be a greyhound but she's not that stupid  I had to shake a live sheep at one of my dogs once. That was interesting! Are greys allowed offlead anyhow?

  11. Would she come to you if you were waving a dead bunny around :)
  12. lol, that is why this thread was started in the first place!! Maybe read the beginning pages as there were ideas there. What works for me is walking at non-peak periods. I'm lucky I can do this. Around 10 is quite good here. I avoid public holidays. And really like rainy days! Only you dedicated walkers are out in the rain and I find their dogs are normally pretty good. I couldn't walk safely from my last house so used to drive to walks. My girls aren't likely to chomp another dog so I don't have to worry about that. If I thought they would bite a loose dog then I would muzzle them.
  13. If his condition has improved I would be be tempted to stop all medication apart from his heart ones and see what happens. I would like to see how he was without medication for the stomach stuff now. Frequent little meals but don't stress if he doesn't want to eat in the mornings.
  14. I would only be calling me at the moment if I can ensure success. So if that means only calling him when you have a lead on, do that. I probably wouldn't make him do anything when he got to you. As you would then be rewarding that and not the recall. Just get him in and make a massive fuss. If he comes (no matter what has occurred prior) you need to reward. And super happy voice when calling. So many people have a gruff voice when calling their dogs.
  15. I recall my dogs during a offlead walk as a game. They come running we have a big patting session and off they go again. I try to avoid calling them and ending the fun all the time. SO call and then release. I am careful about when I call them. ie I never call them for a bath. If he is super busy sniffing something I would go get him rather than calling him for now. You don't want them learning they can disobey. For an emergency right now how is his sit, drop or wait? I tend to stop my dogs first rather than just calling them. If he has a strong sit then yelling out 'sit' may have more effect in a emergency.
  16. Look on the bright side - she didn't bite him!
  17. A lot of dogs with a weak nerve look like they have been belted up so I would take that with a grain of salt. Actually thought of someone else that would be good Dave at Diggers Herding - http://www.diggersherding.com/ A Kelpie expert.
  18. Ok here are a couple for you: http://www.prok9.com.au/ http://www.underdogtraining.com.au/
  19. Probably best to get a trainer in. If you want to say roughly where you live we can suggest people.
  20. They did reply to you Cosmolo and I think they said that they had gone there to offer training. It wasn't clear if it was free advice or paid advice though.
  21. I am not out walking my dogs so that you can use them to train yours!!! People can go to dog schools for that sort of exposure. Can't say I've ever had anyone thank me after Poppy has growled at their rude dog either!! The dogs I don't see out in public are only going to be a problem for me if they get out.
  22. I wouldn't pay a deposit until the pups were on the ground and there was one for me.
  23. My dogs do not particularly want to meet other dogs. It would be pretty dodgy if a sheep dog decided to play with the other dogs when it was supposed to be rounding up sheep! They very, very rarely approach other dogs first. They like some little poodles that we see sometimes on walks. But they would rather smooch pats from the owner.
  24. What about a foldable trampoline dog bed? Something like this - http://www.d4dogz.com.au/catalog/breezy-bunk-foldable-dog-bed-small-p-5663.html To get him off the ground.
