I can't really see the value in dog food reviews anyhow. How a dog reacts to a food is such an individual thing. I mean I had a really bad result with Canidae but a heap of people thing it is the ants pants.

Just A Vent About Numpty Owners And Off Leash Dogs.

Just spent 3 days in Rye and went to the beach everyday. Only had 1 dog approach mine. Every other person kept theirs away when they saw me leash mine. Quite a few stopped and asked why I had hold of mine, . This was an off leash area. It would be lovely to take mine to the beach, I rarely take them here way to many idiots which is sad as Maddie loves to have a little lay down to cool off. Stan's not a fan of seaweed touching him  Thanks for the well wishes Malakita I am so looking forward to it I do hope you have the same experience down there that I have had. :) -

I've only been to Ricketts once but did enjoy it. I would class it as fairly busy though. And I bumped into Megan and Cosmolo there  Blairgowrie is nice but further away of course. But it didn't take me heaps longer to get there as you are on a freeway the whole way. I didn't enjoy the drive to Ricketts. Blairgowrie is, I think, offlead until December. Then it turns into offlead until noon. It is in the flyer that Hazywal put up. I love Rye too but that is now offleash until 9.00am so depends on how early you like to get up.

Bit hard to explain the 3rd area. If you look up Patterson Rd, Lilydale on google maps, it is in that area of the lake. Sort of the hill bit near the wetlands area. It is quite nice walking around Dorset Golf course. Haven't had any issues there. There is also an off lead area. Alfred Nicholson gardens are lovely for a dog walk. The Warburton Trail. -

There are 3 off leash areas at the lake now. :) -
Awww lots of sad doggy faces. This is my fav sad face. The reason for the face is fairly obvious! Actually I think it was because I was laughing at her and she was offended!

Do you have any of those concrete statue places near you? They often have dog bowls. Or try a farm type shop for something more sturdy. An old butlers sink might also work. ETA: I have a shallow concrete type bird bath/water garden pot that mine love to drink out of. Just from a nursery or Bunnings.

No your puppy doesn't have autism or anything like it. The instructor was silly to tell you that. Other things simply have higher value to it than people. This can be improved on. My current 2 dogs don't like me hugging them. They are dogs so I don't take this personally. Dogs are dogs. Your puppy is perfectly fine. Not all puppies are going to be smoochy little things.

My problem is that I want to avoid people trying to approach or stop us in the first place! Even that can freak Didi out a bit because she anticipates what comes next (which hopefully I will change overtime). Interesting about your friend, I have heard the same thing from other people but her old harness I used before she outgrew it had 'no pats' and 'nervous' on it and we were given plenty of space. Maybe it's different depending on the dog? People are less likely to approach a large dog with issues than a smaller/more approachable breed? I think the thing that helps the most is to just not stop moving. As soon as you are stopped you becoming easier to approach and less able to escape. Friend's dog is a very large Terv! You just have to be very firm and put your hand up and say stop! Or no. -
From the supermarket - the Love Em liver treats.

As long as I could physically do it (ie coat not matted) I did all sorts of weird requests. Shaved poodle feet and faces on Maltese type dogs for instance. Schnauzer clips on SWF. You are just going to have to make sure you keep the grooming up on his body if you leave it longer. Shaving a dog off is rather boring to do. It is heaps more fun if you have to do some scissor work.
-
2 things could be happening here. 1. Your dog's coat is too matted to leave in a longer clip 2. Your groomer is lazy and has no talent To check the first point - can you get a comb easily through your dog's coat? If you can then it doesn't need to be cut short.

Just have a no touching rule and be prepared for people to argue with you because they will!!! I prevent Poppy from going up to people as she is super enthusiastic. The number of people that argued with me on a recent holiday was hilarious. I would be standing holding her and they would be assuring me it was ok for me to let go. Umm no. I explained to one old man that I didn't want him getting flattened and he said he didn't mind being flattened by collies which was sweet I guess. Don't get one of those 'give me space' vests as they just make people come over and ask what is going on. A friend used one and it was a total disaster. -
Just annoying if you are looking for a non-chicken food because of allergy issues.
-
My thoughts are it is probably made in the same factory as Black Hawk. There is another factory too that makes similar food. It isn't new or different. Just the same as all these little companies producing holistic, Australian made food. Pretty packaging though. Annoying to see chicken fat included. Would get excited if someone produced a duck or similar novel meat product without chicken fat!

Mine know the difference between gym clothes and walking clothes. This is pretty clever as there isn't much difference! They actually look me up and down which is hilarious. When I put my hat on they know for sure that it is walking time! They also seem to know Sunday is dog school day. No idea how as I don't do anything different on a Sunday prior to school. They also know the shopping bags bring food back. And will lick their lips when they see me going off with the bags. I have never fed them directly from the bags either so I assume they can smell the food in the bags as I carry them in. Amber got super excited when I was packing the car for our last holiday too so she knows what a suitcase means now

Wonder if it is a stamp duty thing.

Cool. My vet said to just clean Poppy's ears regularly but the ear cleaner must sting a bit as she does carry on. Wipes would be a lot easier to use.

What Price Would You Deem Reasonable For
JulesP replied to OSoSwift's topic in General Dog Discussion
I would probably just want my dogs to stay in the run if it wasn't something I did regularly. So maybe different prices for run only vs run with a play. -
Do the baby wipes leave the ears moist though? I use ear cleaner on a makeup pad.

Will it fit into a gel capsule once crushed? You can buy empty gel capsules. Maybe? Would probably need 4 o 5 of them :) Where do you buy them from? I saw some in Chemist Warehouse, so I guess most chemists would have them? I just sacrificed some old vitamins that were in gel capsules. -

I pop them in the mouth too. Apparently one of Amber's tablets tastes disgusting to I don't even try and hide them in food. I also want to know they they have gone down. It can't be too traumatic as she comes over and sits and waits whilst I get the tablets out. -
My toy destroyer did it to get the squeakers out!
