  1. I've never had a vet ask me if I had insurance.
  2. Goodo Yeah they are nice and light. I used mine last summer and the dogs didn't get too hot.
  3. I think I would be talking to the vet. It is such a relief when they do their first wee & poo after something like that. You can give lactulose to dogs. But I would check with the vet first.
  4. The owners didn't 'need' to pts these dogs they wanted to. It was their choice.
  5. So when are you going to steal him as your house pet? :)
  6. Can you give me a link to this law? Not being a smart arse but I can't find one.
  7. This isn't an Australian company. The product is made in NZ but appears to be owned elsewhere.
  8. Depends what you mean by 'Australian Brand'. Nutro & Advance are made here but they aren't made by Australian companies. Pro Plan is also made here but again is not an Australian company. Nature's Gift is an Australian company. Their tinned food is pretty good. Much less sloppy than some very expensive brands like Eagle Pack. Their dry does have wheat in it to bind the kibble. A lot of people are happy with the VIP grain free dog food, Natures Goodness. They also do a tinned food.
  9. If I am correct aren't both dogs destined for euthanasia? Even the dog who called off on command? Already been PTS. Owners volunteered it. The dogs were purchased after a violent home invasion. That is probably why they were in the front yard.
  10. In an interview with the owner he said that one of the dogs called straight off and that he had to prise open the other dog's jaw.
  11. I think it is a lovely idea. If I had corgis I would oblige. There is an older lady near me, who had border collies on her parents farm. I always stop to let her cuddle my dogs and she tells me stories about her dog. All part of being a purebred dog ambassador.
  12. That isn't really what the product is designed to do. It is designed to replace pancreatic enzymes to help the dog to digest the food. You said your dog was having black poos, are they very soft? If the food is moving quickly you normally get very soft, light poos.
  13. Yes it was very stressful. The ace worked really well and the wound started to heal normally. A doped up border collies is much easier to look after too  I wasn't allowed to leave her alone for the 2 weeks though. As I am single that was a pain. I had to drop her in at the vets for them to look after so I could go and get my food shopping etc.
  14. We ended up having to use ace to knock her out for a couple of nights. No idea how she was rubbing the stitches as she had a cone on.
  15. Ooooo I like the look of those! Yes that's the one I have! I have one of these too. Am pleased with it. Where did you get it Jules? Locally? Doncaster shopping town from the pet shop.

  17. My girl had a lipoma removed and had a drain. It was a big wound. Her drain came out after a couple of days. Stitches at about 2 weeks, her stitches stayed in a bit longer as we had some issues early on with her rubbing them.
  18. My dogs don't eat dog poo but love other poo  Cat poo was very popular!
  19. I can't remember dogs roaming around Our dogs certainly weren't. And I can't recall coming across many in the streets, unless they had escaped. I remember getting knocked over by a dog when I was quite young and getting bitten when a dog attacked my onlead dog, both incidents over 30 years ago. One in the UK and one here. Maybe it depended were you lived? Although I did live in the country in the UK.
  20. The turkey wings take a bit more chewing. Available from Woolworths.
  21. She would have been pretty well rugged up and it sounds like there were a lot of people there helping so the dogs probably didn't get much of a chance to do damage. The fact they have gone at a person on the ground is quite bad enough. And it took a fair bit of force to get them to stop.
  22. These beds are very nice for dogs that like snuggling in. I've always wanted to buy one but my dogs all sleep stretched out or on their backs with feet in the air, lol. http://www.maisondog.com.au/ She goes to a lot of markets in Victoria. I've seen her at Yarra Glen and Warrandyte.
  23. good info. My patience level would not manage then. I looked and looked for a light, easy to set up crate and wasn't really happy with anything. The lighter ones were more fiddly to put up.
  24. Yeah they are very lightweight. I also can not fold mine back up. Neither could about 5 other people that tried to help me!
