I've got a dog that is a vego for health reasons. So there is a need. But the vegan food is not balanced imo as a vego myself of 30 years. Lentils aren't a complete source of protein.

Have you tried Natures Gift tinned food? A FB friend asked this today and heaps of people suggested satin balls. If you google you will find heaps of recipes.

I tried a bag of the T/D. It upset my dog's stomach. Didn't feed it long enough to see if it would help teeth.

Help! Best Thing To Get Rid Of Poo Out Of A White Coat?
JulesP replied to westiemum's topic in General Dog Discussion
Amber rolled in something disgusting last week too, poo of some kind! I used Plush Puppy Deep Cleansing shampoo. Only took 1 wash. Was grateful for my outside hot tap! -
Weird hippy shit can make these things worse too. Speaking from experience of someone that has food allergies. For instance 2 of the ingredients in this formula have caused major issues for me (chia & maca). Maybe that is why I am quite careful now. Vitamins, herbs, minerals can cause harm. ETA: have had nasty issues with flaxseed too!

Vit E seemed to be the main thing to try with panniculitis, which is why I asked if you had tried that.

Have you tried vitamin E?

Pretty much. Just because an ingredient has vitamins X, Y and Z in it, doesn't mean dogs are capable of getting those vitamins from it. Lots of sciencey language and claims, zero actual science. Also lots of dodgy marketing terms like "promotes healthy organ function", which means.. nothing. Personally, I wouldn't touch it. The guy that started the company used to post on here actually. He had no prior background in nutrition, natrupathy, medicine etc. He did contact me totally unsolicited and suggested a diet that would have been very bad for my dog. I think the ingredients in it are quite strange. A lot of them are so called 'superfoods' for humans. I guess it depends on how you feel about those. If you are coconut oil lover that loves chia seeds and barley grass then this product will resonate with you. I've even tried a couple of them myself. I am very happy that Erny's dog is going well. I don't think there is anything in the ingredients that would cause harm. I do think it is all a bit snake oily. Airdaler have you googled to see if there are any support groups for your dog's condition? I would have to credit the Yahoo group I found for extending my dog's life as the knowledge they provided me was amazing. If you are interested in giving AA a try I would google each ingredient in it and see how it relates to your dog's condition.

Get a trainer now and not a fluffy, give them treats trainer before you end up with a dead dog or 2 dead dogs.

The Grumpy Cat has been doing the rounds and going everywhere! So not really surprising this cat is getting invites.

There is a company that makes covers for dogs nails. They are called Soft Claws. No idea were you would get them in Australia though. ETA: Just found some for you at Clipper World! http://clipperworld.com.au/soft-claws/soft-claws-for-dogs-c274.html

You really need to have a physical exam for a shunt - ultrasound etc. My dog's blood & bile tests were not that bad, I don't think them alone would have suggested a shunt. Dogs with shunts are usually smaller and have issues with food. My girl was super fussy. She used to run into things too when she was a puppy. ETA: My dog didn't appear to be sick and would run around at the park for hours
-
This is for a shunt not CL. She was about 11 months old when she was diagnosed. Yes she had seizures. She sort of lay on her side and twitched. It wasn't super violent. When she got up she was walking very strangely. She also did strange things like rub her head along walls and stand still like in a trance and flick her tongue in and out. No I didn't euthanize. Her seizures have been controlled with a combination of medicine and food.

I have a dog with a liver shunt that has HE. And obviously CL is in border collies. What do you want to know?
-
I would be putting locks on gates so no one can accidentally leave the gate open or walk in on her.
-
Dogs just shouldn't be loose in yards with owners driving in and out. That is how the dog got out that chomped the little boy that got rescued by the cat. I would want to know that you had taken steps to secure your dog in future when you have the gates open. If the dog is in the front yard I would want to see that the fence & gate were secure.
-
I would just be weighing her regularly to check that she is gaining weight.

The hard tummy could be fluid build up, ascites. The wheezing could be pressure on the lungs from the fluid. Dogs can get ascites from having a heart condition, which can also cause wheezing/coughing.
-
Cat was a little bit lucky too. If she had done that to either of my dogs they wouldn't have run away, they would have gone her. Not that my dogs would have attacked a child in the first place.
-
Lucky escape there I think. Good luck with finding a puppy. Hopefully someone from here can help you.

I am fairly sure that this is what killed Brock. I could never work out how he could possibly have got the bait as the neighbors wouldn't have used any being market gardeners. Then this year in my local paper I read that they were putting bait in a reserve about 7kms from my house. I can only assume that a fox or bird dropped it on my land. I would be having a fit if I lived near these bait areas.

Neighbours Large Dog Can Get Into My Yard If It Wants

The wall is suitable for your tiny dogs but my borders would have been up it in seconds! They don't jump over low fences but do seem to like scaling rocky walls! -
That is gorgeous!
