  1. I feed at 6.30ish and put them out for a wee/drink when I am getting ready for bed 10.30ish. Most of the time they just sit at the back door. They do want to get up pretty early in the morning 6ish. What time are you getting up?
  2. This is what I originally tried to explain to her when we first met months ago. She didn't take it well. Most people call out to me me that I don't have make the dogs sit with me. Errr just following the law people!
  3. A while a go I got abused my a lady when I asked her to call her off lead dog away from mine. Mine were on a lead but it was in the start of an off lead area. She didn't seem to get the fact that you can't just let your dogs run up to other dogs and started foaming at the mouth about me having unfriendly dogs in a dog park. It isn't a fenced dog park btw it is just an off leash area. Saw her today. Hers was on lead, mine were off. So I call them off the path and put them in a sit stay. She abuses me again for having unfriendly dogs in a park park. Well she called them vicious! She then yelled that my black one had attacked hers on another road! Ummm no psycho lady, not sure how mine can attack yours when they have never even touched noses. Last time I saw her I walked on the wide nature strip to avoid her as she was jogging. She likes to keep walking whilst abusing me so a conversation is rather difficult. Normally people thank me for putting my dogs in stay and comment on how well behaved they are!! Very odd and not a good start to the day!
  4. Asking the price is ok. Haggling over the price is not so popular!
  5. You have confused people on here so maybe you confused the breeder and they thought you wanted a girl. Why don't you just ask them what is going on. They are obviously not hiding the fact that there are male puppies.
  6. I think Big Dog made the original Dr B patties and there was some falling out and they ended up making their own patties. Dr B patties have also been sold to a larger pet food company now - Real Pet Food Company.
  7. Yes I've used it. Similar to VAN. The lady that developed it used to be near me so have spoken to her personally. I liked that she was a Naturopath. Have used some of her herbal preps as well for dogs and horses. The dogs ate it happily and did well on it. I didn't use it to address any issues so can't tell you if it worked or not. I would use it again. If you like mixing up warm horses feeds you will enjoy making this
  8. I hope he is much improved from your last thread.
  9. I have a couple of the Surf Dog robes. They are pretty good for drying and reducing mess.
  10. I'm going to give you some sympathy as I would be pretty upset if I had waited ages for a puppy and then at the last minute had the breeder change their mind. Especially if I had visited the puppy. I imagine you had names picked out and puppy things purchased. If you say what breed you are looking for perhaps someone can help you with a new puppy.
  11. A good place to start is to visit a dog show and go chat to the Dane people. Most will be happy to talk to you as long as they aren't about to go into the ring. If your state has a Dane club that would also be a good way to find breeders.
  12. Yes the auto fill gives good pressure. I wouldn't bother with a twin tank if you have hot water plumbed in.
  13. How they normally work is like this: one tank is heating the water, you move water from this tank into a 'washing' tank, I normally add shampoo into the washing tank. Wash the dog. Drain the washing tank. Flick over to the heating tank for fresh water for rinsing. So the good thing about a twin tank is you have fresh water heating up whilst you are washing. You could fill the wash tank with the rinsing water by turning the draining bit off so the rinse water isn't draining out. My main angst with the FIdo is that it takes a while to heat up the water. This is ok if you are spending time drying the dogs off.
  14. I think the general consensus is to feed what your dog does best on. If people want info about raw feeding that is provided. If they want info on a kibble that is provided. Then people cam make their own minds up.
  15. I personally class peas as a protein source not as a filler.
  16. Happy Paws treats (advertisers on here) also do a ground up product. It is called Perfect Apperteaser http://www.happypawstreats.com.au/products
  17. That is how I squished Amber's kibble when I wanted to make it into a powder. It is errr good therapy too!
  18. I'm sure lots (all) of us have done the dog Xmas photos  Put them here!
  19. Rule 4: No denigration of pure bred dogs Speaks for itself. This is a primarily a pure bred dog forum (ANKC recognised breeds) and was created to promote and discuss these breeds. If you don't think pure bred dogs make the perfect pets, then maybe this forum is not for you. How does saying that some breeds shed a lot and smell doggy denigrade pure breds?? Because she said they shed/smell less than the purebred parent. Therefore the purebred is smelly and sheds.

  21. This belongs in "Other'. Lovely as the stories are, they have nothing to do with pedigree dogs. Let me make it about pedigree dogs then...... 2 of my border collie girls are super similar. In looks and temperament. Both small, stocky girls with wavy coats. Both would have jumped off a cliff to follow me. They aren't from the same kennel but have dogs in common in their pedigree. Similar lines. All my border collies have been quite similar because I've picked dogs with similar lines. My 2 boys were very similar too. Both big boofy boys who loved everyone. That to me is what makes a good pedigree dog. The lines breeding true so you know what you are getting. I met a puppy I had bred when she was in her twilight years and it was like meeting her mother. Bittersweet.
  22. I would like to know were these ethical breeders of oodles get their breeding stock from to start with.
