Puppy bars on the Xtrail.

Research on dangerous dogs. Why they actually snapped. What made that dog cross the road, go into that house and kill that little girl. Most of the owners of these attacks claim that the dogs have never shown aggression prior to the fatal/bad attack.

There is Earthborn too, available from Petstock.

For Those That Haven't Gone To Training Recently

Didn't you do the puppy class at Croydon? We do all that stuff in that class. A couple of the lessons are walking around the streets. We do stopping at curbs out on the road. Recalls up at the local school. Ok I haven't taken a real dead possum for the leave it class but I tell them that is why we are teaching it! -
Phoning the lab myself has done the trick My vet is very quiet and nice I am more umm assertive!

I've been calling the vet everyday. I have now called the lab.

Blood has gone from Melbourne to Brisbane.

I've never had to wait more than a day or two for blood tests before. My cat had his first lot of bloods taken on 3rd August. After calling all the next week I was told on the 10th August that his blood had been lost! Went back in on the 10th August and had more blood taken. I still don't have results!! Has anyone had to wait this long for results?

Oh that is no good. Poor Bailey. I hope the vets work out what is wrong soon.

Such a sweet girl to let strangers put her in a backpack when she was in pain.

I have been going to training but I am going to answer anyway :p I mainly go to training because Poppy seems to know it is Sunday and sits and stares at me in such an expectant way that I have to take her, lol. I am frustrated with training though. The dogs are 'trained'. I don't want to compete. I've gone through the obedience stream and the agility stream. The only obedience stuff I can do is ring run-throughs and as I don't want to compete that causes angst. Am doing Rally but there is still a push to compete in that. I could do a social class but that class isn't great for Poppy due to the dogs that sometimes go in it. I do want to continue to train and the dogs love it. Not sure what it is that I am looking for. I guess a higher level of training without the pressure to compete. I am feeling like I don't want to go anymore but then I get those sad doggy looks! -
When my first border collie turned 10 I cried and cried as I didn't want him to get old. He lived to 15yo so maybe that was a small over reaction! Does it upset you because you don't want your dog to get old and leave you? One of my border collies looks very young because she isn't well. I am constantly having to answer that 'no she isn't a pup'. Had to explain on the weekend that I couldn't get her de-sexed because she is ill. These questions do upset me but I know the people don't mean any harm when they ask them. I am just sensitive because her being sick upsets me. So maybe think about why being asked if your dog is old upsets you.

A lot of us that ordered from the last free shipping that Clean Run did had our parcels opened.

Yeah I just don't get why he left her like that.

Mine prefer to paddle but can swim. This was Amber's first swim. I was a bit worried as she just swam across a dam!

This is from the US. A GSD was left on a mountain by her owner after she hurt her paws. He asked search and rescue to get her but they wouldn't so he just left her there! A couple found her EIGHT days later but couldn't carry her either but they posted a help notice on a climbing page and a bunch of people went out and saved her in rather nasty conditions. The owner heard about the rescue and now wants the dog back! Only way I would be leaving my dog on a mountain to die is if I was unconscious in hospital! Good on the people that saved Missy. http://www.examiner.com/article/dog-left-to-die-on-mountain-by-owner-custody-battle-video-of-rescue

Possible Neurological Problem
JulesP replied to GoldenGirl85's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
My dog with a liver shunt has had similar symptoms when her liver has been overloaded and can't expel the toxins. The term for this is Hepatic encephalopathy. I hope your doggie is ok. -
I don't think that would make a dog attack from behind though with a glazed expression. That sort of treatment is more likely to result in a bite when the owner asks the dog to get off the couch/bed etc.
-
I don't know about this. The instinct in my 'show' border collies is pretty strong despite their ancestors not working for years and years. It is something that has always surprised me. Same with other 'show' breeds that I have seen herding.
-
One reason I desexed Poppy was because she didn't have a temperament that I wanted to breed on. Great sporting dog but too much for the average pet person. A consideration in breeding the bitch I did breed was her lovely temperament. When my mentor was suggesting dogs she also took into account temperament.

Agility Training - What To Do
JulesP replied to fuzzy82's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I'm the opposite, lol. I want to do 'pet' agility but the clubs around here are super serious about it. -
Exactly, people in fear they can't go to obedience classes because someone will dob their dog in to the hotline and whammo no more family pet. Restricted breeds are not actually allowed to attend VCA affiliated dog schools in Victoria.

Ndtf Vs Delta Dog Training Course?
JulesP replied to DanRaff's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I leave meat defrosting in the kitchen all the time with the dogs in there. I am usually in another room too. In this house the rule is 'no border collies on any sort of furniture, border collies stay on their beds'. Every BC I have owned has followed this rule. I've had no pinched food or counter surfing. I am pretty strict on manners and what I expect around the house. Do not talk to me about the cats though The most I managed with them was that they knew there weren't supposed to be on the bench and would jump down if I appeared!! I also had to get a cat proof bin.
