Does anyone have a website that I can get all the emails of Victorian MPs to voice my concerns? I will also be emailing WA MPs and my local mayor. I feel sick about this legislation.

They need to use better photos and allow you to click and enlarge them. A clear, large photo of the dog standing side on and then also a front-on one would probably lead to more confident answers. There were a few where I was thinking "hm...that photo looks like a purebreed...that one makes it look like a cross...that one makes it look just like a poorly bred purebreed"

CC those photos are fabulous! Where do you go to take the photos? Looks nice and green and spacious. Ptolomy I hope your mum is well soon. Mine is spending her 2nd night in hospital and I miss her loads. I'm such a baby Cooked for the boys tonight and it wasn't a disaster but we are definitely having cereal for dinner tomorrow

Cats, Carnabys, Crows, Caterpillars And Other Critters.
Mim replied to CrazyCresties's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos
So that's what those birds are called! They must be THE most annoying birds on the planet! Damn you carnabys! They love the huge tree in our backyard so big groups of them come and rip the leaves out and make such a racket. You can hear them coming from a mile away because they are so loud Little buggers also scare our poor chickens and are terrorising a local magpie family that nests in the same tree. Great photos though -
Yep apple seeds contain cyanide so fed in a high quantity they are dangerous. Not sure how much apple seed classifies as a "high" amount though. You could feed cored apples As PF said, it's a source of fibre. My guys love apples and pears.

He is stunning! Has the most gorgeous head I hope you have lots and lots of fun with him -
That'll heal just fine. I'd wash it once or twice a day with warm salty water and dab a bit of betadine on it and just let it be. If you have papaw ointment you can put some on there but anything you put on he will lick off Sarge did much worse to his nose 2yrs ago and I did the above and it healed perfectly. Never went pink or grey, straight back to black. Daina currently has a cut on her nose that's going through the pink healing stage but it will go back to black thankfully. I washed it for a while and now do nothing. Topic I started when Sarge hurt his nose http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/161134-scraped-his-nose/page__p__3482455__fromsearch__1#entry3482455 Not sure how Hugo would go with it but to stop Sarge from licking the papaw off, I would get him on my bed at bedtime and put the papaw on and then gentle hold his muzzle shut and stroke it until he fell asleep. I only needed to hold his muzzle for less than a minute and he wouldn't try to lick it and then once he was asleep it got a chance to really sink in.

Check out ebay as well. I now get my flea, worming and heartworm preventatives from ebay as there are cheaper prices and lots of sellers offer free postage.

Anti Bouncy Bargains For Controlling Those Puppies !
Mim replied to SwaY's topic in General Dog Discussion
I came in here expecting a cure for bouncing puppies of the literal kind but that's gone out the window I have one of these bras, they are very comfy but you need to go for one of the bras with a higher "support factor rating" to really reduce bouncing. Obviously it makes more different than a non-sports bra but there are even better bounce-stoppers out there. This kind isn't really suited to high impact (or high bounce ) sports like running/jogging. I have a berlei bra with the highest rating and it is really, really good. -
Has anyone else been covered in fog tonight? My whole suburb is nearly invisible due to such a thick fog! I've never seen so much, it's almost creepy. Can barely see the front door of the house across the road

My best friends Lab has lots of them, only one is an issue as it's right in his armpit and has gotten large enough to affect his walking so it's getting removed. As far as dogs go, he has a very low pain threshold and has always been the type of dog to make a huge fuss over the smallest hurt yet he doesn't care one bit about his fatty lumps so I honestly think they don't cause pain.

Zora is huge! What a pretty girl she is though I love how she prances about.

I do have colours I prefer in my breeds but colour is way down the list when looking for a dog. The big things (health, temperament etc) are of the utmost importance and then if the dog happens to be a colour I like, it's an added bonus. If a dog suited me in every way but wasn't my preferred colour, it wouldn't stop me owning that dog.

Same here. I bought a pair of nice thick rubber gloves, they feel silky smooth and don't have that yucky powdery feel on the inside. The dogs know when they see the gloves that something is going on with their food

This is a great shot of Sax!

Mine have all been allowed on the bed as soon as they were toilet trained. Before that they could come on the bed for cuddles but not sleeping. Out of my dogs only one (Daina) will choose to sleep on my bed every night and she knows my routine so when I get back from brushing my teeth I can expect to see her on the bed waiting for me Last night she must have been cold because she snuggled right against me with her cold little nose in the nook of my neck and I had to let her under the covers. The boys come up sometimes but usually prefer their other beds.

Aww she is beautiful What does Toby think of her?

I buy either the Jalna with the green lid or another one, depending on which is cheaper at the time. The other one is low fat, natural pot set greek yoghurt with live cultures but can't remember the brand. The dogs get yoghurt everyday as my foster has to take a tablet twice a day and it's easiest to give it to her in a spoonful of yoghurt and in typical dog fashion, I can't give one dog a spoonful of yoghurt without giving the others some too They may get some more with their dinner depending on what they are having.

I get asked often about the dogs stumpy tails. Quite often people don't believe me when I say it's possible for dogs to be born with natural bobtails. They think I've made it up and the dogs are really docked. Some people don't ask and just give a few filthy looks.

Thanks EI, it is so lovely out that way. I've never been to YaHaVa coffee.

I wonder if they'd swap crates if you swapped the bedding around? Perhaps they have a preference for one bed over the other.

Does anyone know of a nice place to have a meal in the Swan Valley that allows dogs? We went to a place a few weeks ago but the food wasn't anything to write home about so looking for something nicer. It was lovely being out with the dogs so hoping we can do it more often Any recommendations?

For those in WA, you can get green tripe from the Pet Chef http://www.thepetchef.com.au/scart/products.php?cat=2&pg=4 I have a kilo of it sitting in the freezer because the dogs won't touch it!! I'll try again on a hot summers day, maybe the heat will make it smell even worse and they will eat it then. They seem to eat everything else that smells horrid

All mine do it. Lucy is 11 with no signs of stiffness or arthritis in any joints and she is nearly always lying in the frog position. Muddy and Daina do it a lot too and Sarge did when he was a pup but not very often anymore. They haven't been xrayed but they have not been diagnosed with any problems and don't seem to have any issues Echoing what others have said - it means nothing other than that your dog finds it comfortable and if you need to know if your dog has "good" or "bad" hips, then xray is the only way to do so.
