  1. I enjoy that sort of stuff too, I am looking forward to the unit, just not the mass amounts of work The "fun" units I chose to do this semester instead though as they aren't running after this. So glad I have finished all my chem units. I hate chemistry!
  2. RV are you at Murdoch? I have to do molecular genetics but I've put it off 'till next year so I can do fun units this semester (forensics woohoo!)
  3. Hey guys, have those poisonous sea slugs left the beaches or are they still around?
  4. Okay guys, time to get serious! It's obvious that corgi puppies are the cutest More evidence: http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?s=&a...t&p=4555355 http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?s=&a...t&p=4106071
  5. We had a standard poodle X australian cattle dog.
  6. One of my breeders has CORG1 or CORG1S, can't remember which.
  7. I don't like it. My dogs would freak out and I don't like the idea of the head getting wet. I enjoy washing my dogs and when I do, the head is the last thing to get wet and even then I use a wash cloth to avoid soaking it. Stops anything getting in their eyes/ears/nose.
  8. Ever since Ziva died I have been a big worrier about my dogs. I don't let it turn me into a control freak but I do worry. I have a bit of a hard time letting people walk them without me there because all I can think is that somehow the dogs will get loose and be injured or worse. I try to just suck it up and each time they get walked by somebody without me there, they come back fine but it doesn't ease my worrying. There are certain people I can't bring myself to trust walking the dogs without me and I make sure anyone that does walk them understands the rules (Never to be let off-lead, avoid strange dogs, make sure harness is fitted correctly etc).
  9. These girls weren't exactly matted but the dead undercoat had clumped together in sections and their coats were in desperate need of a brush. Before After More after They might not be what you're looking for though.
  10. Woohoo I love it when they do these! I'll be taking my 3 along and maybe the foster dog! So look out for 4 corgis
  11. Could have been he was just busting to go and the sensation of being wet made it impossible to hold on. If you think his wee is diluted definitely take a sample to the vet. Could be an infection.
  12. You should be banned from posting pictures of Misha, chicko! I already want a leonberger and she is just too gorgeous
  13. Just caught the end of a thing on the radio (720 ABC) warning people not to place any orders with PetFood 24/7 and if they have then to contact consumer affairs (I think that was the one they said).
  14. All my dogs are tarts when it comes to humans but only Daina is a tart with other dogs. She likes to shove her bum in the face of unsuspecting male dogs Little hussy she is!
  15. Either a craze of corgis or a laze of corgis, depending on their mood
  16. I have 3 dogs currently taking one tablet twice a day. Usually I wrap the tablet in a bit of ham and make the dog do a trick and give them the treat as the reward (they always eat their training rewards super quick so it's an easy trick) and then just to make sure I follow with another bit of ham straight after. I've found if I don't follow with another bit then they chew the first piece and spit out the tablet. I ran out of ham though so I have been putting a bit of peanut butter on the tablet and then quickly following with a little blob on my finger for them to lick off. That way they swallow the first bit, then swallow again when they lick it off my fingers. If that doesn't work I just shove it down their throats and give lots of praise afterward. I am so glad that two of the dogs finish their tablets tomorrow morning! Hooray!
  17. I have corgis and they attract a lot of attention from all ages. We once had a man chase after us with his little baby because she wanted to have a pat. The dogs just sit there smiling, happy to be touched. One thing I have noticed is that they attract a lot of asian people and we often get asian tourists wanting to take photos of them. A few months ago we were bombarded by a large group of exchange students that just couldn't get enough of them! We also attract a lot of men around their 40s who make all the "Oh where's the Queen?", "Better roll out the red carpet", "Oh, look, royal dogs!" comments which get tiring very quickly.
  18. I'm not surprised. I remember going to the sign up tent thing on the first day and the people there were very rude and seemed very much like it was the last place on earth they wanted to be. Maybe they all got a bad nights sleep or something.
  19. My corgis all changed to adult food around 8-10 months.
  20. I'm sure a lot of people have loved their experience there but I didn't like the club at all. My best friend and I took our dogs and were in different levels but both encountered rude instructors and thought we were overlooked in the large groups. I was given a hard time by one instructor for naming my dog Sarge. She said it was an awful name for a cute little dog. I was only 14 so it upset me. Other people in the group called her the Nazi but when I went up a level I found out there were quite a few instructors given that name. This was 5yrs ago though so there may be all new trainers who actually like working with people now.
  21. The next day a scab had formed so I picked that off and a bunch of puss oozed out. Gave it a clean and it looked pretty good so we decided to watch it and it is healing beautifully. I've just been washing with warm salty water then pat dry and apply betadine. No signs of infection and it is healing from the inside out. I am wondering if it will scar a bit but only time will tell.
  22. What's creepy about my dogs face being superimposed on to that of a human? I am sane. Don't worry. I'm going to go ahead with a vet visit and just say I only want anti Bs if they are necessary. My vet is very happy to go along with his clients wishes so I will probably get some cleaning instructions and if it gets worse we will go back. I probably wouldn't be worried about infection except that the dog that caused the puncture has badly cared for, worn down teeth with lots of tartar and the dog likes to eat poo so there's lots of nasties in there I'm guessing.
  23. Thanks erny. I do like to avoid anti Bs if possible because I don't want her to develop a resistance to the anti Bs and then one day she may really need them and they will be less effective and then she'd need stronger ones and blah blah blah.
  24. Thanks for your opinion, Becks. I think I will take her in the morning even if it looks good. She's a little trooper and acting completely normal but better safe than sorry. Should I be stopping the other dogs licking her? ETA thanks pixie meg. It's the first time I've ever had to deal with a puncture wound so I think I'll get lots of info from my vet and in the future I may go down the route of handling it myself once I'm armed with info.
  25. Daina has a sole puncture wound on her muzzle. I have cleaned it with warm saline solution. Does she need to go to the vet? Is there a high risk for infection thus requiring anti Bs?
