  1. My boy Mitchell had his done many years ago ..had the groove deepened ... and everything put back .. other ligaments used to hold it ... he did have it done by a very experienced surgeon..and after a lengthy convalescence which went fine ..not a crate in sight ...he had not one problem for the next 10 years ..and was working sheep ..chasing rabbits ...all sorts of stuff. (he was a cocker spaniel X )

  4. When I was working with Guide Dogs ... washing/drying feet was a normal grooming thing ..dirty feet>dog licks>dog curls up to sleep /licks somewhere else ... and the smell/bacteria can travel . Your boy might indeed just have that extra oil being secreted , and feeding a colony of little bacteria .... sorry, no great ideas here - but I hope you can find & fix it :)
  5. check for yeast infection? anal glands? teeth? maybe just his sweaty feet ? try rinsing /drying them well every evening ...

  7. Where was he raised ? did he have dirt? it may just be a novelty ...but, ingesting amounts of gravelly stuff will likely lead to problems no suggestions ..if all you have is dirt/gravel - just make sure he is getting all his minerals .....

  14. a good trainer in real life is even better..as they can see you & your dog :)
  15. Good. Ask for spinal xrays ... I hope all goes well.
  16. Stomach tenseness may also be seen in back problems ..as they try & hold still .. incontinence, hiding from pain ..just about everything you have written could also apply to a disk problem or something .. Not saying it is ..but it could be. a UTI is not the first thing which came to mind when I saw the symptoms ..was his temperature normal at the vets?
  17. It sounds awful... What part of him was the ultrasound of? The 'specialist'...what is his specialty? What were they testing for in his blood tests..anything specific? I can understand how worried you are ..not knowing is just awful
