  1. ? Nature is Nature ..and it all works for a reason. Living things come into being, they grow, they die in various ways to provide food for other living things- from bacteria to giant trees . It's when it collides with the impact humans have made that things get tricky.
  2. That's the interpretation I was using . Foxes & cats do very well here in my part of the world !.rabbits a plenty, birds/eggs, reptiles, small native mammals, roadkill, and livestock . There is much artificial water available- so less travelling .So - basically they are eating organic/fresh whole prey . They still have decent populations of endo and ecto parasites . I guess sometimes animals do die of starvation - usually old, ill or the very young ...and I guess too, that parasites weaken them and hasten their demise.
  3. Hi.. I think it's not a bad idea... however if you have never fed a complete raw diet before , I suggest you keep to a good quality puppy kibble , plus chicken wings etc - while your puppy is growing and making strong bones and a healthy body. Trying to get correct ratios of minerals/protein and fats to correctly supply nutrients for baby puppies is a bit tricky ..and a premium puppy food has all the work done for you ! For everything you need to know about RAW feeding .. there is a VERY long and informative thread if you CLICK HERE :) oh - and if your pup has teeth ..he doesn't need mince :p
  4. I don't think a belly band would last long on a large dog who may dig/jump/climb to get out
  5. <br class="Apple-interchange-newline">I see lots of fleas(and mange, and kangaroo ticks) on foxes & feral cats ..& they are not vaccinated or fed any processed food ! I also see them sick/dying with diseases ... both from parasites & viruses.
  6. ..perhaps feed ribs ,or oxtails etc ..so the meat comes 'on the bone' ..and has yummy digestible bone/connective tissue with it :)
  7. They may..if they are making beer :) survey done.
  8. ..and I guess this has been said - but you cannot make a dog "yours" , entirely - they do make choices . I am glad it is working so far - and also hope that you and the MIL can get past this -
  9. I use varying types of cord.. but call them 'long lines' I attach snaphooks/swivels /whatever's needed.
  10. What a wonderful happy ending :) :) Thank you for that update!!
  11. ours aren't LGD's but that's what we ask people to do with our dogs anyway ... and usually how I 'meet' dogs I don't know . That link may be useful pinned or something ?
  12. Awwww.. No more fluffy he doesn't look as much like a Thelwell pony now
  13. Practise, practise, practise... make coming to you worth it. practise set him up for success at first - make sure he can NOT nick off ..use a very light long line . practise That's all I have , no doubt others will have tried & true methods .

  16. wish it worked that way! Often folks are unwilling/ineffective in setting down and being consistent about , rules and behaviours .. dog is getting up to mischief ..and so a new puppy is bought/found to keep Fido company and stop the owner having to work hard on fido ..cos he now has company and a playmate ....
  17. purely an editor..no organising/albums /separate layer work /cut/paste etc ..but it has so many variations on the use of light/colour/balance etc .... :)
  18. Snook... THIS is now my editor of choice ... and I was just exploring more widely today ..and found about 2 dozen different one-click HDR and CLAHE effects ..I've been having much fun! :) Oh - one click, then sliders to 'fine tune'
