  1. memories are treasures - to unwrap every so often and enjoy the feelings ..then tuck them away carefully once more
  2. lots of wing flaps and posturing when I check in ....
  3. You might be better posting this in general dog discussion ..it gets more traffic . May I just say ..good for you! @Troy maybe this could be moved ?
  4. The remaining one is busy eating 'lunch'
  5. Our Koolies start them at a few months old ....semi freeze , or freeze if you have a gulper . The bones of these meat birds are only 7 weeks old ... soft as butter really
  6. What about chicken frames/lamb offcuts etc ? may be different where you live..but it's fairly cheap here ...shopping bags full of lamb necks/flap pieces etc for about 6$
  7. I guess, as they are looking out/up/down, they are forming 'maps' for when they finally launch
  8. Sadly the boys aren't really working, as normally they get training with our our sheep. Our sheep are in no state to run around..so the boys are living the good life - mostly indoors with me !! DAGS HAS been out once or twice for a day, and done reasonably well. Lord knows how they'll end up ! Clive is funny...I have a rotten cold, and if I sneeze or cough, he's there, leaning on my knee, looking at me... Oh.they both bailed up a feral cat today! Poor scrawny thing it was..it escaped down a rabbit hole after a brief skirmish.
  9. Adding a dog to your family should not be stressful for either the dog or yourself. She is already on medication, you and your husband are in tears and stretched emotionally - that is so not how it should be I am sorry. The rescue can now concentrate on finding her a home without small animals ..where she can enjoy her humans, and they her .
  10. Sounds very stressful For how long have you had this new girl ? At 9 yrs old..you are taking a big risk. A working breed X? ..unknown quantity. small animals(prey, quick movements) I wouldn't do it ...and I consider myself experienced. I just wouldn't want all the extra work/stress and then have it not work The distract /recall will NOT work on prey drive, in my opinion ....it may in puppies, but an adult? Doubt it very much.
  11. But, wait .... A parent just came back to check....
  12. These two terribles are one year old! and , a couple of Pudden :
  13. I keep missing them when I go to look! Hope they fledge safely They're at the opposite end when I go to see :P
  14. What a shame it has been happening without help for you for a whole year I can imagine how awful it must be. I agree that something probably happened to absolutely terrify her one day, home alone ..and now, just being outside is the trigger. Being indoors is away from the 'nasty'..and so she can relax. Locking her outside will never fix it. She is at a big risk of also dying from snakebite, as she will be too anxious to pay any attention It will cost money, but, if you really want help, a PROFESSIONAL dog behaviourist ..NOT just a trainer is the only way to go. Two best Dogs wrote a good post. You and your poor dog will need a management program - she will need a lot of extra training ..doing different things, and she may need medications to help her ..not treats..but that was a good thought
