It sounds as if she is unwell...- write down EVERYTHING. VIDEO her staring /pacing (don't talk to her..just observe/record. and maybe see another vet, or take to a University Teaching clinic/hospital? Best of luck with it ....

Hope your dog will be ok. I guess the vet told you to keep her quiet, and to avoid knocks/bumps /bruises? Also no hard bones etc which may cut gums... AFAIK vit. K is given to HELP blood clot ... but it is still very wise to try & avoid injuries ... Best of luck with the results :)

I think if you are concerned about escalating problems.. you need a 1: 1 session with a good recommended trainer or behaviourist , like K9 pro , or maybe someone on D O L has used someone in your area?

.... ;) two of the most aggressive dogs I have know have shown no really noticeable things like salivating a lot ..they just come in like a missile.

i would ask another opinion. Unfortunately, it may be that ,at his age , his body is wearing down ....and his muscle tone has changed ..or there may well be another cause.

Just treat it all very matter-of-fact .NO special treatment in the days leading up .. no extra hugs , etc on the day . leave her with your scent on bedding etc. Sit on her bedding for a couple of nights while watching TV :) make sure the same food/treats are sent with her .. and DON"T start getting anxious :p

staffyluv, it's a bit like kids ... they can run & play at a friend's place, and come home hyped. :) :) Set them homework, or get them to follow instruction in a structured sport/activity..and they will flop afterwards. All long runs do is make the dog fitter and want more!! I agree with kavik. 10 minutes is TONS at a time ..no more . does he have a sandpit?

You know what? I wouldn't be going to the dog park. Simple. Lots of LONGish walks , dependent on age/fitness with a few minutes training here & there along the way . NO sniffing/peeing unless he has your permission ..and a couple of breaks, where you sit on a bench /wall, and give him a couple of minutes adoration .... 2 or 3 short sharp sessions of manners education in your yard each day ..with lots of calm and honest praise for good work . make everything you say to him a chance for him to earn a reward ..don't have meaningless 'conversations' .he needs to learn that your voice = something worth listening for, not just background noise . ;) Our dogs usually only get spoken to when asked to do something, or when being praised ... so they listen attentively .:) There are lots of such occasions every day ! to some, they are , and to others they are still 'possessions' and valued .Recently I lost my old chookie mate of around 12 years. She was very much part of the family . When my PET duck was killed by next door's dog , I was devastated....Frances Duck had been my companion for quite a few years .....

From what I've seen, sniffer dogs etc are absolutely toy/ball crazy!! that becomes their 'raison d'etre' and , as they ONLY get it after 'working' it keeps a high value and is an almost failproof way of getting co operation.

What is the body language when barking? Any video/photos/description.That may well decide which way you need to go re: working at the problem.

yes, you would possibly had other suggestions if you had stated the pup is in an apartment ! My suggestion would be a dog toilet using artificial turf...same 'feel' as grass, and may trigger a toilet respons.
