  1. Welcome - but I'm sorry it's for this . from what you've written , it seems you are being a very worried puppy owner because you care I gather that the experts have given puppy the all-clear now , so relax, and enjoy her antics !
  2. Sunny ...great news that he's eating !! banana and cerelac are HUMAN baby foods ... chimpanzee baby foods ..NOT dog baby foods Would you feed your toddler raw chicken wings, or minced kidney ? No... because it is not suitable human baby food . Growing pups NEED meat . Dogs enjoy a tiny bit of fruit as a treat ... mine love watermelon To grow a puppy's body strong and healthy , it needs the correct diet . banana, rice, wheat cereals , fruits are not a correct diet, as they don't give puppies what is needed to grow bones and good health A pup's stomach works WAY different to a humans ....it is designed to digest anything meaty puppy kibble , chicken wings, pet mince ..... things like this ;) Rice and boiled chicken is a soothing meal for a puppy with an upset tummy ..but only temporary keep doing your homework ..it will only do Tuffy GOOD!! Just remember a dog is NOT a human . A dog does NOT eat like a human A dog does not THINK like a human :)
  3. Welcome to you & Tuffy . poor Tuffy - sounds as if the folks who sold him to you were not the most responsible people - and that is sad Puppies should still be with Mum at 6-7 weeks > The seller should have given you an exact date of birth , details of his diet /any vet treatment /instructions on his care . Tuffy now needs plenty of good meaty food , cos they grow better on what their bodies are built to eat he also needs to be kept safe from disease and cranky dogs ... so do lots of training in your own yard/house It's hard when everything is new & different, isn't it ? here are some snippets which might help. It's great you've joined up here ! We might get a bit concerned and sound like your old maths teacher ..but it is because we CARE about pups/dogs, and helping new owners cope . OK ? A feeding thread to read some info on  Parvo protection
  4. LMO .. so, basically you don't even have to really think about it at all ?
  5. aren't we due for another photo or three ? ;)
  6. awww..my eyes are dusty .. very well done
  7. awww...dear little girl . So sorry .
  8. Not enough love hearts for these posts .... thank you for the updates , KtB
  9. Definitely feed frozen if she's a larger breed pup , crunching a couple/few times would break it up plenty for her to swallow comfortably - that's all dogs need to do , as their stomachs are built to digest nice bones like that easily Our Koolie pups have been getting chicken wings , frozen, for some time ..they are a couple weeks younger than your pup , and get all sorts of other bones as well .
  10. LMO .. The backyard running - it could be a behaviour born out of lack of stimulation .. I've seen it in a kelpie, and a JRT .... chasing clouds! and shadows, and leaves, and birds ...... that video ... almost looks as if he was drinking from a running tap >>>>>>
  11. Sorry m-j .. Ochre enjoyed later life , and got to love being a loved dog take care .
  12. Your gorgeous dogs find their pot-of-gold with you ;) I guess it depends too , on whether a new companion is a puppy , or an adult ? And what its previous experience has been ....
  13. Hi Adding good food to processed stuff is NOT 'spoiling' it is looking after the health of your dog Well done. perhaps look around petstores/butchers /markets ...experiment with how much it might cost to feed raw ? Feeding basic raw isn't hard ... Chicken frames (and other nice edible RAW bone )/bits of liver /sardines /egg /some biscuit treats / bit of vegetable if you want ..there are many variations
  14. Ahhhh..the beauty that is Australia . well, today , I have had enough of the beauty ..and the heat, and the dry , and the dust , and ..... photo just taken of our house . Some bits I may love again tomorrow . like a lonely little wahlenbergia ( I think) amongst redgum seed pods , on the riverbank .
  15. Oh bother . maybe they only let you edit one at a time ? Sorry ...no idea . It does get good reviews tho ..and I'm sure you'll love it eventually
  16. Ok..this is one I had not heard of .. I just looked here : https://digital-photography-school.com/on1-photo-10/ briefly ..and found this . From which I gathered images are uploaded to somewhere 'out there' before THEN being downloaded to the editing program ... ???
  17. Lovely boy ..with a lot to learn and experience Hope the owner sees a different POV soon .
  18. I doubt these dogs would be placed WITHOUT assessment of recipients , training, and follow-up. In my previous life , when placing dogs with special needs kids was in its very early stages ...applications were reviewed and families assessed .Children were 'tested' ... and of course some were found unsuitable to have a dog Explaining that was one of the most difficult parts of my job . That was many years ago ..& I am guessing that things have only improved It is a wonderful thing , and should provide a calming and grounding presence for child and family
