  1. Definitely feed frozen if she's a larger breed pup , crunching a couple/few times would break it up plenty for her to swallow comfortably - that's all dogs need to do , as their stomachs are built to digest nice bones like that easily Our Koolie pups have been getting chicken wings , frozen, for some time ..they are a couple weeks younger than your pup , and get all sorts of other bones as well .
  2. LMO .. The backyard running - it could be a behaviour born out of lack of stimulation .. I've seen it in a kelpie, and a JRT .... chasing clouds! and shadows, and leaves, and birds ...... that video ... almost looks as if he was drinking from a running tap >>>>>>
  3. Sorry m-j .. Ochre enjoyed later life , and got to love being a loved dog take care .
  4. Your gorgeous dogs find their pot-of-gold with you ;) I guess it depends too , on whether a new companion is a puppy , or an adult ? And what its previous experience has been ....
  5. Hi Adding good food to processed stuff is NOT 'spoiling' it is looking after the health of your dog Well done. perhaps look around petstores/butchers /markets ...experiment with how much it might cost to feed raw ? Feeding basic raw isn't hard ... Chicken frames (and other nice edible RAW bone )/bits of liver /sardines /egg /some biscuit treats / bit of vegetable if you want ..there are many variations
  6. Ahhhh..the beauty that is Australia . well, today , I have had enough of the beauty ..and the heat, and the dry , and the dust , and ..... photo just taken of our house . Some bits I may love again tomorrow . like a lonely little wahlenbergia ( I think) amongst redgum seed pods , on the riverbank .
  7. Oh bother . maybe they only let you edit one at a time ? Sorry ...no idea . It does get good reviews tho ..and I'm sure you'll love it eventually
  8. Ok..this is one I had not heard of .. I just looked here : https://digital-photography-school.com/on1-photo-10/ briefly ..and found this . From which I gathered images are uploaded to somewhere 'out there' before THEN being downloaded to the editing program ... ???
  9. Lovely boy ..with a lot to learn and experience Hope the owner sees a different POV soon .
  10. I doubt these dogs would be placed WITHOUT assessment of recipients , training, and follow-up. In my previous life , when placing dogs with special needs kids was in its very early stages ...applications were reviewed and families assessed .Children were 'tested' ... and of course some were found unsuitable to have a dog Explaining that was one of the most difficult parts of my job . That was many years ago ..& I am guessing that things have only improved It is a wonderful thing , and should provide a calming and grounding presence for child and family
  11. "In Grandma's pawsteps" this morning
  12. Good news Now ...SIMBA ... welcome, Simba . You have reached the point in yr life where you have it all but WE don't even have a photo :P
  13. I beg to differ. I have bred/worked with, lived with many many pups over the past half century . Labradors being the bulk of them . The only time I have seen anything resembling this , is with an ill pup. At home currently , we have 2 pups ..under 3 months . They are offered food ..and like any pup/dog - can choose to eat, or not . Mostly they choose NOT . Some days they may only have one meal (raw)..and access to ad lib kibble ( rarely touched) This did concern me greatly the first few times .... Now I figure their bodies have it worked out they never STOP running/climbing/playing . ( oh..except when they sleep ) they are a working breed ..Koolies. Most times they are free range ..we live in the bush ..They play with their various adult aunts/uncles/grandparents ..follow us around ...annoy the pet sheep .. follow big black ants for what seems like miles , are nicely covered in muscle/fat , and extremely agile.
  14. THIS . does this mean your dog lives in isolation forever? No What it does mean is that YOU choose a few friends' pups/dogs who are known and safe to help grow YOUR pup Meanwhile ..YOU are the pup's world /entertainment/treat provider/disciplinarian/leader/safety net .... games master ...
  15. here are the ratbags today ... Clive & Dagwood Starting to get lanky now ...
  16. if a 5 mth old is reacting to that extreme ..I would be mightily concerned ...as would I be if a small change in diet altered energy /motivation levels to that very noticeable extent .
