  1. I think for problem dogs this may be an option- but how will sending your pup away teach YOU how to train it in the behaviours you want/expect at home?
  2. So- what did the vet prescribe to relieve the itches? Poor little mite .
  3. Ok- so he IS eating- just not what you want him to eat? I agree with stitch oh- an I presume he does get lots of bones as well as the mush ? perhaps this is his way of telling you that he is a big boy now and likes to chew and work at his food?
  4. Nooo... Maybe have a read here? Link to info
  5. sounds promising !!. Hope you have found a solution - but it would be nice to know WHY exactly he does it ...
  6. What is in teh raw mush meal? Did it have some of the same ingredients as the bought, prepared food? Is he eating the chicken carcasses, etc?
  7. briefly....BYB = someone who breeds two dogs together without doing health checks appropriate for the breed-checking what hereditary diseases may be carried in the bloodlines, etc. who is keen to get money for the pups with very little outlay on their part - who cross breeds dogs intentionally, and who is not registered with any canine control body . That said- and the fact that this forum does not in any way support these sorts of 'breeders' ( and you used the word BREEDER, not 'someone's got an 'oops' litter of Xbreeds) the behaviour you described is that of a puppy I would not take on. A pup doing that sort of thing at 9 weeks could well carry on this beahaviour as he gets older and physically stronger. I don't know a lot of the two breeds used - but would think the cross may produce some 'interesting' behaviours. The 'breeder' should provide you with relevant dietary advice, advice on worming, a certificate from the vet re: vaccination/health check. As said if you do accept this pup- puppy school/obedience school is a MUST - as well as plenty of at-home education/ training. Best of luck with him, and I hope he is a top dog
  8. Anal gland surgery is very painful and messy afterwards, and can lead to incontinence .... like the others, I would change diet .. get a second opinion ,and see how she goes . What is she fed now? How is her digestion?
  9. For my dane X I used a human camp stretcher.. with blankets/pillows etc. It was perfect. Hamlet is using it now....but he doesn't take up much room on it
  10. I;ve not seen a pup with nightmares- but knew a young dog once who had shocking nightmares after escaping a housefire by jumping thru a window
  11. I hace actually saved a bit of money so I can buy this - have much enjoyed the beta version ..and am now addicted! It makes SUCH a difference ! - esp for those of us with little point/shoot cameras .
  12. Or... "caution, tear gas dispenser" ?
  13. Oh dear! I guess it had to come- dogs aren't allowed to have naturally shaped ears- they aren't allowed to smell/bark play rough... eat bones.. and now their anuses are offensive It looks like they have those car airfresheners hanging on their tails!!
  14. if they are outside security dogs- then I guess it doesn't matter that they are dirty/smelly...they probably have little human contact. If they are matted so they have trouble walking, or their eyes are partially covered- then that's something that would be acted upon by the RSPCA, I would think. if they are outside dogs in a yard , with no opportunity to swim or roll in grass- yep- they will be pretty ordinary looking if the owners don't pay much attention to them. Our dogs never go to a vet unless it's an emergency .. they never get bathed , or groomed They swim/roll in the sand , tho ,and look pretty shiny
  15. You may like to have a look on THIS page if you want a NEW, cheap, simple-to-use camera for around that price.
