  1. They are Borzoi all right, I haven't heard who.
  2. I used to take one of mine to the outdoor tables at the market cafe, she loved it but she used to tap on the cafe window with her paw to get the attention of the people at tables inside and then smile at them when they turned to look at her. It got embarassing.
  3. No, you are not. I loath the term furbaby.
  4. Cartrophen injections, usually given as a short course of 4, have been of help when my oldies have become a bit stiff.
  5. It probably had anchovies on it (Sorry, I am in bed sick and bored)
  6. I think it could potentially affect entries - I am not saying judges need to be mute, but people making rational decisions about what shows to enter can be expected to take what is said into account in their decision making about who to enter under. They would be daft not to, surely. The wisest judges I know don't say much of anything on fb.
  7. I did think before I gave up the ring that the worst excesses were backing off, far fewer cocktail outfits when I left than when I started and that is only over 3 or 4 years. This thread is engaging me tho' because I threw all my show clothes out on the weekend - big wardrobe tidy up. Several jackets went to the op shop and at least 4 suits I bought from the vendors at the shows went straight into the bin, so I had to face the whole 'what on earth was I thinking' thing fair in the face. Still don't know what I was thinking, Oh, I should probably should add I wear suits a lot, I am not a tracky kind of gal. But just not those sort of suits, seriously I must have been blind! I don't think any of them had actually been worn, couldn't do it.
  8. Yes as long as the clothes don't become a barrier to new entrants it is just a nice tradition - but there has to be something acceptable between jeans with holes in them and mother-of-the-bride! I remember taking a very chic friend along to a show, and basically being told that if she ever saw me in one of these outfits I was dumped - and I am not sure she was entirely joking. But I got by with well cut trousers and a dressy jacket. Avoided the unfortunate flesh displays which prompted the OP that way too.
  9. I think for a mastiff type they would be stunning
  10. Don't think they would suit my lot, but certainly different. Probably as well they wouldn't suit as I wouldn't pay that much. Although if I had an Irish Wolfound the Irish Martingale would be tempting.
  11. I imagine they would just drop the price if it proved to be a barrier to rehoming
  12. I usually say it is fine to charge more for the more adoptable ones to help cover the rest-but that does seem very high. They must be pretty sure there will be a high demand for the pup.
  13. Sorry to hear about Jack, run free
  14. speak to the trainer before next week and not in front of anyone and say you find that the general level of chaos and the aggression from one of the pups is defeating the learning opportunity everyone is there for. Aren't there better ways to manage the space? Because you would love to be able to recommend the class to other people but so far you aren't finding it a very good environment for any of the pups.
  15. The vaccination didn't really have to be done just because she was due, immunity usually persists past the booster due date. Vaccination of a pregnant bitch is not recommended by any vet I have discussed it with, far from it.
  16. Someone really needs to post the 'Westminster: white women in knee length suits' link, can't do it off this phone but it is a classic of the genre
  17. Me too. I understand they are working for what they perceive as the good of the population, but the individual animal also matters.
  18. Well I have the advantage of having watched you show irl. As you know, I find much about showing very weird, but I don't count you in that list :)
  19. I think many of the outfits look bizarro if you aren't use to the sub-culture, it is like we slipped back to the 1950s. But you always look nice HW, and I agree some effort is called for, complementary to the dog shown. After a while young girls in panty hose and matching skirt and jacket 'church suits' off US ebay paired with running shoes starts to feel disturbingly normal
  20. When I imported from USA it was pellets, when I imported from UK it was straws, I used Cryogenes both times. The difference was more about common practice at the collection end than a preference by Cryogenes. I have had vets tell me pellets have a higher success rate, and I have had vets tell me they have more success with straws, so not sure what to believe - it may be a matter of what they are used to.
  21. I have a facebook account but the link doesn't work for me either, I get the same error message as above.
  22. Can you string a bit of shadecloth up as a temporary physical barrier? Otherwise I don't know, Mynas don't swoop here, any bird that does is at risk of being caught by the dogs and I think the birds have figured that out after a few casualties.
