  1. After our last try (ie disaster), we have been anxious from day one, and its getting worse! I think I would feel more relaxed if it was Holly, for example, who was having a litter. Ruby is off for another ultrasound next week to check how the babies are going.
  2. Yep, especially if all they ever post is brags. I'm interested in your brag if I have some kind of two way relationship with you or you post interesting stuff about the breed or you're a newbie. If not it just becomes part of the never ending eye glazing stream of PR on FB. Also, while I'm here having a bitch, it is naff to post show PR pictures of you and your dogs in the weeks leading up to a speciality or major show. It is also naff to post obviously photoshopped pictures - I saw a hilarious one the other day where the coat on the back of the dog was perfectly still and at the front it was blowing in the breeze on top of obviously photoshopped grass  I love so called breeders who post their dog's DNA test results online, but for a DOMINANT condition put down the dog as a CARRIER, when ONE copy of the gene is classed as DNA AFFECTED. You really have to wonder sometimes.
  3. Ruby with three weeks to go. Please excuse the fuzz, she hasn't been stripped out in a while. ETA: This is what Ruby usually looks like: http://www.dogzonline.com.au/breeds/profile.asp?dog=24134
  4. Most clubs tend to offer 18/18a in SA now WA, sadly one club that doesn't is Projected Improvements. ETA: Is anyone coming over for Naracoorte?
  5. Well done on everyone's recent wins with their babies, what a gorgeous bunch! :D She's super cute in real life too! She already has a little fan club at shows. But she is pretty special, her mum was our gorgeous Maizie, who unfortunately passed away in an accident when Panda and her litter mates were only two weeks old.
  6. Bluefairy, perhaps some DOLers in your area might have some suitable, calm adult dogs that your grandson could meet?
  7. Last Friday night was Panda's first show and she handled the experience like a pro! She behaved incredibly well, and was a real little show off. :D I think I have a real little show dog on my hands, she has that 'look at me' personality and I am so excited about being on the end of her lead! She's just gorgeous to handle. :D :D :D At her first show, she went baby of breed, beating 5 other babies, most of which were older and had some ring experience. And this weekend she picked up two baby in groups under an international panel. Some pics from the weekend.
  8. Good thoughts heading her way, everything crossed here for her.
  9. I love the volumiser Laser Lites puts out, you can try some on the weekend if you want!
  10. Not long until Feb now! Ruby is starting to get a bit of a belly. How exciting Armahani, sounds like a really special litter and I hope it was a 4th pup on the ultrasound.
  11. Depends on the dog and depends on the time of day and weather, although after the snake incident they have all been inside when we aren't home recently and I think it might stay that way. Holly gets the run in the house, Ruby has a room and Poppy used to be outside, but that's changed to a crate for the time being until I can work something better out, I am tempted to limit her and Holly to part of the house but I'm not sure I can trust Poppy. We aren't all back at work/uni yet so the longest she's been in there has been 5 or so hours when we have gone out as a family for dinner. I would rather see dogs in crates when their owners aren't home, and part of the family when the owners are there with plenty of training and excercise than a dog who spends all of its time in a backyard with limited stimulation or attention. ETA: And baby Panda is in the laundry for the moment until she's 100% house trained.
  12. Casual but only because I'm a full time student.
  13. Everything crossed for healthy, live bubs on the 15th.
  14. We have everything crossed for an Irish Terrier litter due the 25th of Feb from the first mating. After the disaster in late 2010 this is our last chance to have babies from Ruby. We aren't getting our hopes up yet and Mum and I keep telling each other she's not pregnant, but we had several good matings over three days so here's hoping!
  15. Last night I had two dreams, one good one bad. First one was that I got to handle this amazing, top winning dog and won runner up at some huge show. You should have seen the trophy and sashes! Second was my friend's dogs were being hit by cars. One got hit and it flew up on to the roof of her house. She adores her dogs and it was just terrible.
  16. They all sleep inside, my girls (Poppy and Holly) sleep in my room. They are both on the bed if OH isn't here and on their beds if OH is here. There's not enough room for four of us on my double. Although occasionally Pop sneaks up.
  17. Anyone know the Border who went up?
  18. I know Norfolks! The ones I know are fantastic with kids, good family pets but still have the typical terrier drive.
