I think the palliative and aged dog forum has it's place. If you see a topic that needs attention and you think should be moved ... just report it and I can move it across to the main health forum.

Thanks for the different views. The issues of crossposting ads or talking about what dogs you saw in the pet shop was addressed in the forum rules although probably not clear enough. I have also been lax and have not policed it as good as I should have ... I thought one or 2 occasional ones would be OK but it appears it annoys people too much. I have updated the forum rules now (refresh the page) to be more clear. As for topics being started discussing things that may have been discussed a million times before, I have no issue with that. Once a topic gets past page 2, it is rarely seen again so new people may not have seen the original topic and may like the chance to discuss it.

The forum does not have the facility to upload videos. You can embed videos into a page from an external site such as youtube.

Just wanted to say that the 2011 winners haven't been cast aside. The March Dog News is the official 'Winner's Edition' that showcases all the pointscore winners of 2011. There is a 'winners edition' every year. Whilst in theory it would be nice to have it immediately in the January edition, it would be impossible to organise in that short time seeing as the edition would have been sent to the printers before the competition even officially ended.

Whilst I understand that people say it doesn't truly reflect the best of the breed this year, the previous year's competition didn't either (in previous years a dog may have won the competition without ever having won a BOB ... it all depended on how many dogs entered the breed in the location that you showed in). The case of the number of dogs being entered will always have a major effect on the outcome regardless of whether we include R/UP BOB or not (or what other changes we make). There will definitely be no changes made this year. We have have a look at it again for next year so it you are unhappy, sit the year out and wait to see if we make any changes for next year to entice you back.

Yes that is correct and I agree with you that the trialler etc is doing all the hard work. It has always been an aim of mine to include agility competitions etc, but whilst we may include other competitions in future years, I do not want to promise anything or give you false hopes. The pointscore in it's current format actually takes a fair amount of work to initally set up and then to maintain. I don't want to over commit ourselves to the point where we don't have the resources to properly administer it (and on a personal level, I still want to have a bit of a life outside of DOL ). I am doing a fair bit of work to the 2012 competition to improve the 'back-end coding' and to make our life easier on the administration side. If I think we will be able to manage another comp, I may test the waters next year.

Have you had a look at the rules? They are actually already included in there.

Also check that you are using the 'Pointscore 2012' link and not the 'Pointscore 2011' link.
