  1. Hmm maybe Millie and Beans both need to go on the rehome list. Did anybody hear me screaming like a fishwife last night trying to get Beans to come back from chasing ducks through the pond on the bottom oval at K9 and across the car park........ Poor Bedazzled saw just how good our recalls are NOT
  2. Glad to hear that she arrived safe and sound and is in fine form - I will be relieved when my little man touches down after his long flight. Unfortunately I have to wait 2 days before i can visit and a week before we can get him out into the exercise yard
  3. :D can't wait to welcome Aneira to WA!! so glad it's "out" She's in the air! Yay! Unfortunately, she's going to get quite the shock arriving into Perth's cold, wet weather from 34 Deg C in Budapest... So is she doing her 30 days at Byford - if so - I might just see you there as my new little man flies in on the 21st July :D
  4. I think I have just the answer to cure you of this problem :D
  5. So do we see an Aussie in your future? :D I see Beans in her future
  6. Toller # 6 arrives in 8 days time - a little man, Strauss, all the way from Norway and I can't wait Aussies are on my wish list - after travelling with Bedazzled and her boy Brooklyn its hard not to fall in love with them. The two things that aren't on my wish list barking and I want a tail
  7. Only 8 more sleeps until my new little toller man, Strauss arrives from Norway and I can't wait. 30 days in Quarantine and then he gets to come home and meet the rest of the family
  8. I posted some videos a while ago of Cider learning scent at 7 months of age - I was randomly clicking on her way back and throwing food behind me and playing the two food game. Only 1 in 5 would I ask for a present, and scent was just a big fun game for her.
  9. Wow - I just emailed Laucke Mills enquiring about the product (GB and UA) being available in WA. Less than 5 minutes later they came back with this........ Currently Jandakot Stock & Pet Supplies at COCKBURN CENTRAL are stocking the dog foods and we are confident that Allstock and some other stores will take on our feeds from early next month. If nothing else I am very impressed with their customer service
  10. 9 more days and counting before my new little man Strauss arrives in Perth and news from Norway is that today he went for his first real swim where no feet were on the ground. He went on his first bus ride where he met an old man with wheels attached - which I can only imagine is a walking frame. I have to say that this little dog has been so well socialized having been to the gold club, on buses and trains, to schools and shopping centres, to the beach - they obviously don't have the restrictions we have here in oz.
  11. Seita - where exactly did you put the "yes" as she was picking it up perhaps???? when I was training it I would mark right article as soon as she indicated it, as she got better at it I'd wait til she'd picked it up. and I think this is where your problem originated as she has become unsure she is waiting for you to indicate yes that is the correct article hence why even when she finds the correct one she will pick it up and put it down and move onto the rest of the pack. You really need to go back to basics as if she doesn't know the exercise at all, but you should be able to build it up quite quickly, once she has learnt to find the article herself without your help and to trust her judgement. If you want to give her feedback make sure it is in different spots on her way back or when she has presented, or even after you have taken the article.
  12. Yee Har - thats a HUGE brag Kallistar - only 2 more to go. I bet you were nervous ;)
  13. Great work ValleyCBR - if you are buggered now - how will you go showing a couple of red dogs as well Might have to put you on a get fit campaign
  14. My helpful suggestion was giving Amypie Beans to run - that would clearly show her that the frustratin she is feeling with her dog is nothing when given a masters dog to run, with absolutely no skills whatsoever MY brag for today - I won second prize in the raffle - a spiffy new bar jump
  15. Happy Birthday Trixie - you are supposed to be all grown up now - but nobody has told Soggy bear that yet
  16. Nice work ish, proving that you are never too old, and the Advance Bickies were the icing on the cake - Goodonya
  17. Seita - where exactly did you put the "yes" as she was picking it up perhaps????
  18. What a super effort - no wonder you are proud Well done!
  19. I would go back to basics - start with 3 metal and work up to 5 - then remove all and start with 2 woods and work up to 5 Then mix wood and metals and work up to 10 articles. Rewarding heavility when she got it right. I wouldn't always ask for a present - sometimes after she picked up the correct article, I would run off and play tug, or play the 2 food game The other thing I vaguely remembered doing was playing a game where I would do 1 scent article and then do some heelwork and reward, then another scent article, some heelwork and reward, then another article, a box and reward Having said all this do you ever reward with food - or does she prefer a tug????
  20. Seita - snatch and grab mode is a BC thing which they resort to when they are confused.
  21. Nice jarmies Tiggy I watched your video and I remember now - to begin with when I threw the food as a reward I would move myself so the the hoop was between me and dog and they basically had to run through to hoop to get to me - that made it easier for me to click interaction with the hoop. It wasn't very long before the dog worked out what they were being clicked for.
  22. Thanks TSD Yup - no unscented - ALL are scented, and ALL are correct for him to bring back Gives him the most chance of success I have visions of my little red kids - running around the ring picking up the first seekback then finding the second one and picking that up and then finding the third and picking that up and getting to the 4th and not being able to fit any more in their mouths ;) and then just standing there looking at me with that "help me mum" expression
  23. Can you video any of it???? Goodonya I too love the light bulb moment
  24. I have just retired one of my kids from obedience because she would shut down in the ring. Meeting 2 of her sibblings and seeing that they were a replica of her made me realise that nothing I did was ever going to change this aspect of her. Now she just comes training and conitnues to learn new things and loves every minute of it.
  25. BIG Congratulations Mas1981. So when does agility training start???
