  1. My question to you would be how much time do you plan to spend outside with the dog ?? How much time do you plan to spend giving it mental stimulation whether it be very hot summer or pouring down with rain winter?? The reason i ask is Labs are great dogs BUT often there destructive issues area result of not getting enough time spent especially if outside only . Either sex can be dirty if not trained ,bitches are also very capable of cocking there leg
  2. You will find it near impossible to get someone to hand strip a Schnauzer for you(depending on the size) If you have a Std Schnauzer there coats are generally easier to roll & if you happy to put in the hours each week the coat can look great. Minis are alot harder to roll so to hand strip successfully is done over 6 weeks . It doesn't come cheap either Most terriers have a fairly easy coat to roll/maintain . There are 2/3 Schnauzer breeders that do groom the breed as they should look
  3. i would be phoning the clinic & getting info from them so you are aware of some of the basics before you get there. I would asking basic cost what the first consult will cover
  4. The simple reality is it doesn' t matter now with the Australian rules one plans to buy from over seas . I prefer docked but we now breed with tails just the way it is now. What do i say to people nothing ,if they bring it up i don't respond it is an area that i prefer to agree to disagree
  5. Mine wont touch yogurt LOL but will do the ice cream . I generally do Neapolitan due to the 3 flavours . As you say at present no great celebrations but we are getting there in small steps which is always encouraging .
  6. If anyone does i was wondering if i can get who is entered in one of my breeds sent to me .private pm & i will reply with the breed Thanks
  7. Have you tried ice cream. I currently have a bad eater here & like you i don't pander but in this case i have had to do some things i wouldn't normally & re establishing how to eat has been a must & in 2 weeks we have been working we are getting somewhere. I started with ice cream which really seemed to click, small portions like mentioned so it was always eaten . each few days we are getting new things eaten ,small steps but it does give you hope
  8. Some councils don't have DD laws. One of our puppy owners is currently going through the court system as there council doesn't have laws regarding dangerous dogs. There 10 year old dog was mauled to death onlead
  9. Our vet doesn't do it unless he feels there is a risk, a certain chain of vets here push it big time no matter what the surgery or even X rays . It seems more normal in chain owned vets
  10. I would go Kluger way more space for pacing things & more people room . I drive a friends territory in Melb & tow a trailer & all is fine but for the price they really lack usable space
  11. As far as im aware yes . The vet can perform a clotting test prior to to assist with the surgery No way would i consider implanting the male especially if a show dog ,it makes the testicle smaller & the sperm count can be affected .
  12. everyones opinion can be a great teaching tool . Whether you agree or not it always makes you think which is a good thing.
  13. Talk to the breeder, they will give you a diet chart & will explain what they feed & why & the reason it works. If you ask everyone for advice you will end up very confused for what is a very simple process. Ask the breeder for a copy of there diet sheet now so you can get the right stuff in & if you have any questions you can be ready for questions prior too or on collection
  14. why does picking matter??? If your happy with your dog taking 3 days to eat 1 meal it doesn't matter but that isn't normal . Dry still goes off, maggots still appear in dry ,ants etc etc. If my dog was taking so long to eat said product then to be honest i would be wondering why . Does it simply not enjoy the product ?? Is there a better diet plan that would suit the dog??
  15. We have a small dual which is excellent.we brought a second hand 6 berth which is single but by choice we would buy dual . The price & condition of the second hand one was too good to knock back. We only travel 5 mins to our show grounds so easy to get away with but if doing distance travel dual all the way & great when you get a flat
  16. We accept sensible bedding (no bean bag/foam filled as when the dogs decide to chew them it goes everywhere . We accept toys but 2/3 are best We do accept treats providing they can be stored easily without fuss or great space. We do accept dog crates in the sleeping area as our kennels are so big they will fit We pretty much will accept most things within reason We won't accept toys that can be dangerous ,sticks.rocks etc etc
  17. Was the mother of this litter the bitch you asked about having stomach pains & being depressed whilst in heat ??
