In various breeds colours just dont appear in every litter unless you have that in your lines. The main colour in Shelties is sables & that is what the greater majority breed ,the you can get tris,bi coloured & Blue Merles . If your wanting a Blue merle you will just have to be prepared to wait longer . Some of the older breeders still have strong Merles in there lines others will have decided to stick to there sables . In my breed we have a main colour plus 3 more acceptable colours BUT all colours do not appear in a litter ,you have to select your lines to be able to produce the colours & we do not breed too of the colours.

What you need to do is look at every thing you feed ,a high amount of fat including the treats can make a dog vomit so if there saying allergy you need to look at foods and start basic . So the brand of food ,what the meat is in that brand ,the fat / protein levels then factoring in the other added foods and treats . Many dogs can be allergic to chicken ,it could be the treats

what where you feeding before they may factor in foods that ideally to avoid or the fat levels being too high ,that includes treats

The biggest thing about s planning for the winter irrespective,many there are some good quality doggy daycares that your pup can spend a day at,whilst I’m not the biggest fan of many a well run one may be a wonderful tool for a winter pup in London

If you set up the pen you can attach it to the crate So pup has the crate as the bed it’s use to plus the pen area to play,stretch legs,change the toys each day so it’s a new adventure each day . If your camera savvy then set it up so you can watch whilst at work

Depends on your bathroom but there often cold rooms. If pup is use to being in the pen then stick with ,yes as it gets older things will change but as you say there are foxes then that will be a long term issue anyway whether dog is a pup or adult so long term you need to decide what the home routine is going to be so pup gets into a routine .. What you need to be doing before going to work is teaching pup to cope home alone ,you can’t be fussing it during the day as the pup has gone from littermates to new home with company then once older suddenly everyone gone . Whilst you pup has a toilet routine things change with age and I would not expect a pup to hang on so it needs to have a spot where it’s okay to toilet inside . So how often during the day do you go out and leave pup

The biggest issue is working the feed schedule around your schedule as it still needs its 3 meals its doable & the fact at some point the pup will need to toilet so if going to be solely inside needs to understand its safe to toilet inside ,you can't expect pup to hang on . The pen needs to be safe ,if there is any chance it can try & jump out then you need to reassess the height . This stage will be one of the hardest but they grow up quickly ,you just need to make sure its not sitting inside in silence . Ideally we tell our new owners not to take time off work as its often harder for the pup to adapt to someone home & then gone ,its easier to start with what is normal . Make sure you leave the TV on & if pup is going to be in a pen somewhere that doesn't get too hot or too cold ,has safe toys to play with & more than enough space for such a long period that includes a toilet option,safe water bowl

What activities are you doing to enrich his days .

I don’t think anyone can vote on 2 breeds that have different needs to live with . If your getting a puppy training them to accept the cats is fairly easy ,having said that training established cats too also have manners towards the dogs is often not considered as important .Narky cats are just as bad but in the end you pick the breed you want to live with for the ne t 12 plus years

Is there not Poodle facebooks groups where you can look at rehomes .

How will they be informed & ready off a forum when we don't even know what is fact or fiction .No one can give honest advice without seeing what they actually have in writing or been part of the conversations OP just needs to put there big pants on & talk with the breeder .The phone call shouldn't even be considered a battle but one of asking what has changed & pointing out that they are disappointed & where to go too from there ,very simple & easy & if then still not satisfied decide what path that wish to take having more info as to what has changed .

I haven't got it wrong ,the right thing would be to phone the breeder & ask why not air it on a forum before evening getting a reason so yes it is bagging out the breeder & trust gets lost in the process. You made it very clear in your first post you want that pup ,know your saying your interested in the other pup ,this is the reason why you talk to the breeder first ,get the info first hand as what you have written was very clear & next post changed it to okay i still want another pup . People forget most of us replying are breeders & often not hard to figure things out hence your first call should have been the breeder to see what is going on & then go from there. Was it handled well no but i would have been on the phone asap finding out why this decision was made

Then phone the breeder & speak with them .I honestly dont get why people head to forums to bash the breeder & still expect they want that pup .Trust gets lost on both sides. Phone them & have a good chat .To be honest the fact you have brought stuff & looked into insurance is nothing because they have still offered you options.You have no idea why they have changed there mind & it would be better to talk to them & find out why . Personally i wouldn't pick a pup from a photo only at that age as you have no idea what its nature is like & if the pup is truly the right fit .only know at this age would its personality be starting & that should be far more important that a pup in a picture

Sadly most pet owners feel the need to rush to the beach & dog parks with there pups & happily accept there dog being bullied & hurt & think its funny .Most are more worried about making there puppy tired that looking at what is going on isn't really on there watch list & go back each week for the same behaviour to happen,then that narky dog gets older and does the exact same thing to someone else 's puppy & creates more issue dogs . Pup hasn't learnt self control & they wont when offleash given permission to do what they want .Most of these dogs have terrible leash manners & pull there owners so they learn no life skills there so owners find the offleash park convenient compared to walking so pup/dog is learning no life skills except pull hard enough you get rewarded offleash & no self control or manners . I would still be mindful of his manners ,yes he may have respected the one that had a go at him BUT he is still a young dog & could decide the next one that challenges him is fair game & learns a whole new level of unsavory behaviour . Finding the right dog to give an educational & respectful telling off is not easy & one that knows not to ignore the challenge

Contact the Pug club of Victoria & ask them ,otherwise if your breeder is local they should have suggestions

Have helped shown and board . Can they be the wrong breed for people absolutely.If your not prepared to lead train your dog correctly from a baby they don’t get one . We board a couple that have no lead manners and are dangerous because of it . If you don’t want to train your Newf to be brush correctly again don’t get one . Many groomers refuse to do them due to TerribLe manners and to much damage to a groomers body ,spay coats make it worse . If you don’t like slobber don’t get one and not all are born to swim. If your dedicated to the above you will love your pup and breed

Actually there isn’t a lure to go to the dam ,he is simply able to do what he wants and he does . Agree you need to build a secure dog yard for him otherwise his future is not going to be good especially if he starts annoying others with stock . His own yard can then be turned into his playground ,paddle pool,digging sand pit and you need to take some serious control back and teach the dog the correct rules and enrich his life more

Many give tin cat food especially to fussy eaters & many did for the taurine aspect. WE have used tin food but wouldn't give the dry

I wouldn’t even consider it until well after his knee surgery and then access what limitations the dog may face and whether another dog is practical in that case.. Rehab after such surgery will require dedication ,get past that stage with could be a good 6 months

Your breeder should be able to answer these questions for you and they really enjoy being part of that . But factors to consider would be is the yard safe ,how easily pup can source the right shelter / protection. There is nothing wrong with pup being out whilst at work but setting up a safe puppy run is a better option until older

Personally if its that bad at this age i would be contacting the breeder & going to the vet to ensure there is no tear duct issue or eye infection . Whilst we use eye gel to help lubricate from the chemist even with teething it shouldnt be that bad if you doing basic eye cleaning .
