  1. I was talking about the boy dogs that Thistle is meeting. :D
  2. I'm wondering what sort of boy dogs she's meeting?!
  3. Ummmm what are you doing Thistle? There's plenty of space to rub further up their belly and chest even with tiny dogs. No need to get all up in their junk!
  4. David Jones this year had Daschund wrapping paper. From memory they were somehow festive... perhaps wearing Christmas jumpers. Well done finishing your 52 weeks of photos! ETA: Still don't have a photo of Scottie with his giant tennis ball. Does he like it?
  5. Ummm SM your sticky tape is amazing!! Oh the photos are pretty good too.
  6. I agree! Lovely photos in this thread. Malcolm of course! Hamilton is lovely too. He sends his love. Probably not to Thistle but definitely to you! Mr PK made this cartoon of him. Not so handsome here.
  7. Who, Malcolm or Hamilton? LOL. I agree! Lovely photos in this thread.
  8. Malkie getting ready to go spread Christmas joy to his friends at the Vet. With (most of) his Christmas presents! Well and truly spoiled! Yes he got a tap. Playing with his balls from our DOL Secret Santa! Which one to choose?! Uh oh! His little brain exploded when he saw the pupcake he received from my parents! Bonus Christmas Hamilton!
  9. Estrogen has an impact on behaviour. Perhaps it's that? Either way, how lovely to have your girl feeling happier. :)
  10. You gave them a home for Christmas! Best Christmas present ever!
  11. I meant to reply earlier luvmybulldog, it sounds like quite a scare. Hoping these past couple of weeks have seen further recovery. I had to look up those first two gifts, silentchild! Nice finds. You seem to be across all the cool stuff, lol! :D My parents' pup loves his Kong teddy bear, Eza! He's got a grey one. Love it Marg. Well, not the grass seed of course! The early Chrissy gift. Malcolm got to check out his loot in advance... but I think as a noseworker he was mostly excited about the box. I've added the Through A Dog's Ear album 3 and a pull-out tap from Aldi to his present list (bought ages ago but still not installed). Not that he cares about the tap but it will make bath time quicker which he will prefer! And while I love their effectiveness I'm getting really sick of albums 1 & 2 of TADE so some variety will be great.
  12. I'm so glad she's feeling better. :) It really highlights the importance of discussing behavioural issues / anxiety with one's vet, doesn't it, especially if it's worsening. And having a vet with at least a bit of knowledge of behaviour. Many don't and I really feel for the dogs left to suffer. Hugs to you and Tamar.
  13. Yes yes yes! Think of it this way, if you're terrified at the dentist and a friend comes along to hold your hand would that make you more scared of the dentist or would it just comfort you in the moment? On a related note there's a reason why doctors give lollies to kids when they have their shots. It doesn't make them more fearful. 15. Oh Stellnme, what a beautiful poem for a beautiful little dog. I'm so sorry for your loss.
  16. Ahhh hit send too soon. The same breeders have come up in a past discussion here: http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/257529-breeder-cleared-of-puppy-farm-allegations/ It is certainly an interesting case. I just realised the article is from Sept last year and has previously been discussed. Oops.

  18. Yeah not reincarnation as such, but along the lines of what JulesP was talking about. I wish I knew our Papillon's pedigree but we don't have it. I do know the breeder's prefix. Would Dogs NSW have details of litters registered in 1990? In any case, Kalkite have a couple of Papillons, one bred by this breeder being Aust Ch Judylin A Litldabo Magic and another, Aus Ch Kalkite Black Orchid who doesn't have any Judylin in her but gosh darn does she look similar, same smile and there's something in the eyes. And they have other Paps with Ch Sandrinas Gothic Rose in their lineage which have a certain something I can't put my finger on. I would love to meet these dogs, maybe I should I go to a Pap show but oh my I would be a blubbering mess. It's like looking and seeing family.
  19. I second what Ness said, again. My dog kept hurting his back quite badly and his GP vet was treating it with painkillers/anti-inflammatories and strict rest followed by a gradual return to exercise. He'd be good for a while but then hurt it again because his underlying issues weren't being addressed. So we now have a little exercise program, a bit like physiotherapy for dogs but to him it's just a bunch of fun tricks for rewards, and we're seeing improvements. If only my physiotherapy was as fun. Fantastic news though!
  20. The Vebo ones look to me like they'd get very hot outside in summer.
  21. SG maybe the duration of the exposure to dogs was too long for Molly? http://suzanneclothier.com/understanding-thresholds-its-more-under-or-over
