  1. That's awesome Thistle. You guys seem to be having so much fun with the Manners Minder! Malcolm is completely off the Gabadabadoo now. He's still not as good as when he was before the trial. I hope that changes soon. Perhaps he still feels a little icky as one can when starting and stopping these medications.
  2. And another as all my links didn't work the first time! How are things progressing with the little one?
  3. So they make you get $10mil public liability insurance just to lodge an application that they still can reject. Do they get back to you within the cooling off period (14 days) so you can cancel it and get your money back if they reject your application? Yeah I doubt it too.
  4. Just popping in to say that I've sent you a PM about dog trainers near you. :)
  5. What sort of dogs do you have and what are their ages? Do they have any health conditions or allergies? Grain Free Chicken Hills seems to have 24% protein not 33% (if that matters to you), and most of the protein appears to be coming from peas. Chicken may be the first ingredient, but since it's not a meal the actual dry matter content is a lot less. The fat content is also higher than most kibble at 20%. HERE are the ingredients: In terms of size, my dog has recently sampled BH Fish & Potato and Hills Ideal Balance Chicken & Rice and they were much the same size. Hills may be slightly smaller. Neither are big but they're not tiny like some of the small/toy breed specific kibble I've come across. Both are rounded in shape. Black Hawk will send you out samples if you want: https://blackhawkpetcare.com.au/our-products/original/chicken-rice/ I don't know whether you can get samples of Hills online or in stores (mine came from a dog show) however I think a number of pet stores will give you a refund under a palatability guarantee if your dogs don't like it. I'd consider the BH but also look into the other kibble brands that have been suggested, some of them also offer sample packs. You do need to consider your dogs' individual requirements though. Many moons ago my dog did better on Supercoat than Hills. It was a different recipe but still.
  6. Your plan sounds great. :) I hope Sir Scotland is in less pain soon. Mal's weight has also gone back up after a previous loss. It's so hard to moderate when their energy output keeps changing due to illness or a lessening thereof! gah!
  7. Heeling might just become the most amazing thing ever. OMG peanut butterz.
  8. What about getting a wooden spoon and coating it with peanut butter? She'd continually have to be in position to get the reward? I haven't used this technique so it may be inappropriate for what you're doing, but I know some people use it for loose leash walking and conditioning exercises. Some people also freeze the peanut butter on the spoon so it lasts longer.
  9. Excellent. :) PS can we have another picture of the little fellow? :D
  10. Yeah, good idea! I've emailed her but she didn't reply.... Thanks! Yes, do call. I've noticed that some breeders aren't very tech-savvy and/or much prefer phone calls.
  11. I second having his toothy pegs done at the same time if possible/appropriate. One last dental to see him through. :) Also from experience I'd ask for fluids, helps them recover from the GA. And pre-op blood tests though I imagine that's a given.
  12. Put me down as interested, it will likely save me a trip to Wollongong.
  13. There are a number of amazing trainers in WA who do home visits. If you tell me roughly where you are (PM if you prefer) I may be able to recommend some. Gorgeous dog!
  14. Some inspiration: http://www.denhaus.com This is a pretty clever idea: http://handheldpyrometer.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/dog-crate-furniture-diy-c3e3b52ac72a8057fad269500b77c7f2.jpg
  15. I've been checking in hoping for updates. :) I'm relieved to hear that Mya seems to be responding to the treatment. Well done to Shoelace!
  16. If you trawl Facebook pages and groups you might find something. There are a few pug crossbreed meet ups in Melbourne. Search Pug Melbourne. Not really a gift (those rent-a-dog things seem really odd to me?!) but perhaps they wouldn't mind a tag along. :)
  17. That was not my intention whatsoever, and I personally don't think it would have been interpreted that way.
