  1. Kids in the pen and dogs on the outside  excuse the bricks they are all about to get rendered before we sell
  2. He is pretty chilled and him and Azure are great mates, if he is in his pen she has to go and lay in her crate  He grabbed her collar and took her for a walk
  3. Thanks everyone he is a little beast of a thing. Azure was introduced with her in the crate and then on lead as she can be quite over the top, she was playing bowing and pawed at him and he told her off and meant it so she just laid down and let him sniff her. They are fine off lead together now but I am doing it under supervision until he is a bit bigger. He is an independent little man I thought I would crate him inside last night but he got stressed and earlier Azure was laying in her crate and he was sleeping next to her on the outside. I had let Azure out but she was still sleeping in her crate so I locked her in and he slept on a bed alongside her without a whimper. It started raining about 3am so I put in in his dog pen with her in her crate next door and after 3 minutes he got on his bed and went to sleep They have had a play this morning and all is good :) Azure was outside for a few minutes and pulled his bed through his pen, my destructo child Hard first day Supervising toddlers is hard I am not into white dogs and also swore I would never get a coated dog but his nature is amazing and I look forward to start getting him used to our animals although I am not looking forward to the "what breed is he" comments when he is 70 plus kgs. He starts 2 different puppy pre school classes soon and I know one of them has a baby boxer bitch that will be big enough for him to play with if he feels like it
  4. Not only is his colour quite unusual he is a rough coat or fluffy butt as he is affectionately called
  5. Some of you may remember my Central Asian Shepherd Jake when my username was casowner, next month it has been 3 years since our tragic loss of our beloved boy. Today his nephew Wolff has come to our home to carry on Jake's legacy. Wolff is incredibly special for many reasons as not only is he Jake's nephew he was also born of the 10 year anniversary of the death of my heart dog Chief. Another weird twist is that we lost Jake 4 days after my foal Angel died and Wolff was born 4 days after my last foal died of a detached placenta. Wolff is not the puppy that we had chosen but he is the puppy chosen for us and after meeting him today I finally understand why. We are about to enter a very exciting and challenging chapter in our lives one that makes me appreciate how special these amazing dogs are Meeting his big sister ASD Azure, believe it or not Wolff turns 9 weeks old tomorrow
  6. I highly doubt those statistics are collated at all and regarding breeds that would be not be trustworthy data as you are relying on several different staff with varying levels of experience to identify breeds. There is no way that data would be given unless it was under the direction of a committee and was voluntarily collated
  7. That would wipe out a big chunk of dogs already in shelters, what a tool
  8. Congrats on getting another CAS : thumbsup: Look forward to pics and details! Thanks Cassie my young ASD Azure will benefit from the company and Wolff is pretty special and unlike any CAS I have seen in Australia. It has been a nearly 3 year wait but I am getting quite anxious :)
  9. I had my dream dog, my bi colour GSD Chief and his ashes are to be buried with me. Jake was really close and we didn't realise how special he was until he was gone. On Sunday we pick up our new central Asian puppy Wolff from the airport and he was born on the 10 year anniversary of Chief's death and he is also Jake's nephew
  10. I saw this video today and was disgusted, insert any dog instead the breed isn't what disturbed me. Dog on lounge, food, owner with their arm on the dog, toddler grabbing dog and squealing and not one verbal comment from any adult OMG Video I have a nearly one year old ASD bitch and a male CASD coming on Sunday and every interaction is monitored with my kids, my son is 2 and this story is just heartbreaking and so avoidable
  11. OMG my mum said this to me on the phone today when I told her that the police were looking for that neighbour and I said he was a dr and she a primary teacher and they seem lovely  Sorry OT
  12. $9.45 we sell them for, 3 flavours they are quite popular
  13. Every female in my OH's family has tested positive for the gene. I am sure thousands of people do and while I feel incredibly sorry for her a raffle such is that was poor form, especially those that organised it
  14. we sell heaps of bull chews from mini ones up to 36" my anatolian doesn't touch them but they are incredibly popular I often wonder if the owners know what they really are
  15. I used to specialise in wattle bats and the such, they used to come into the AWL after being stuck on truck grates. They are one of my favourite animals and a real delight to care for let me know if you need help Keep it covered and if he/she needs feeding in the interim crickets and mealworms will suffice, I prefer them to be dipped in insectivore mix and pre feed the insects gutload but beware they are noisy little eaters. We have them at home at night and I sit out there and watch them darting, they are adorable but very sensitive and stress easy We had a moth trap that we used to catch moths for the bats and softbills/finches, the things you do
  16. I have a male that attacks sheep and the two other wethers have been together for 7 years and if separated just sit down and sulk. If my old pom cross went in there they would be straight at her or small kids. They go up to anything new and like spitting at my horses over the fence We are looking at getting a llama (only because I think they are cool ) plus we are downsizing and will mainly only have my pet ones Grumpette I have heard of horses/ponies drowning sheep, my stallion was starting to sheep toss around food so they had to be taken out of his paddock so now I just take Diego out for a day and left them in to do the weeding Robbi I would approach the neighbours and let them know what happened and just inform them to be vigilent because any loose dogs on properties can and will be shot by some neighbours
  17. Grumpette we have 3 and trust me with dogs they are no help, my lambs were taken last night by foxes in the same paddock. A neighbour had his alpacas all torn to bits in one night only a month or so ago by dogs Donkeys are better but still can get injured they can also pick up sheep and toss them
  18. In our area in the last 18 months we have had over 10 alpacas, 2 horses, 60 sheep plus 2 calves killed because of dogs. The main culprits were an aged lab and a mastiffy cross thing who lived one road over, they were caught on my property trying to get into my deer yard. The most recent were two purebred gsd bitches that were in the forest (now shot), there were 2 guys caught burying huge amounts of pills in the forest and we think the dogs were theirs and they ran off I live in a constant state of paranoia with mine so will be glad when my anatolian and central asian matures
  19. We sell HEAPS of EzyDog gear I love it, my son has already picked out his matching collar, lead and harness for his new pup which is coming soon
  20. exactly no kill does not or should not mean no life, just because you rescue doesn't mean that gives you the right to hoard and make animals like in inappropriate situation and allow a semi feral cat population grow. Many well respected rescuers have posted in this thread, ethical, responsible rescuers who do the right thing by the animals, not themselves
