In the late 80's / early 90's our family dogs ate the same thing every single night of their lives lol. Pedigree Pal dry food, plus Pedigree Pal tinned food, to which we added a teaspoon of minced garlic and a splash of oil.

Is there a particular reason you want to avoid crate training? You could have a crate set up with comfy bed inside? Or if you didn't want a crate you could have his bed set up in a puppy pen. Depending on how open-plan the new house is, you could also just lock him in the living room by closing doors and using baby gates etc.

We're on acreage, so I train in the front yard / back yard / dog runs etc. There's also a dog park five minutes up the road that has big dog and small dog sections with agility equipment.

That is an interesting comment, as you never know what situation you might find yourself in. I've rented with dogs and found it to be ok, it was sometime ago though. I hate the idea of renting full stop, I have never done it I just think that I would find renting with dogs really stressful.

So where are all these dogs with neck lacerations and/or injuries due to being shown on a snake chain?? I see dozens of dogs being shown on this type of chain every weekend, never heard of a single incident yet. To answer the original question, I'm not sure what brand mine are but I pay about $45 for them and the quality is good, never had any problems. ETA: Just checked and mine are Prestige brand.

Our property is about an acre and a quarter, my OH and I cope fine with 4 dogs (2 medium, 2 small) and have another on the way. I have 3 good sized dog runs (the largest is 1/3 acre) and 1 smaller run so feeding time is no problem. There is only one dog who needs to be fed separately anyway.

Any photo of a puppy on an i/v drip would do, really.
