Blood in the urine or in her sloppy stools? Vet... NOW! Get off the internet, and get her to the nearest emergency vet please... T.

Credit to the dog that it didn't bite her... but if anyone did that to one of my dogs, I'D bite them... Training is one thing, but that footage appears to be manhandling plain and simple - and the dog was terrified of her and looking to it's owner for some help (and didn't get it) T.

Should I Or Shouldn't I? Any Thoughts Appreciated.
tdierikx replied to spottychick's topic in General Dog Discussion
I'm really glad you've decided to keep Dylan... I think he's really well suited to your particular pack style - and the other 2 spotties obviously love him too... This has to be one of the best "saves" I've heard this year... way to go spottychick! T. -
Sound decision there siks3... T.

If you want Max on the bed, then it's between you and Max... I bought a bigger bed to accommodate my pack - and got rid of the OH to make even more room (my definition of the divorce... *grin*) Max could just have been having an off day... they happen... start worrying if he does scary things like vomiting or diarrhoea combined with down or lethargic, OK? Can They Be Friends Living In The Same Home?
tdierikx replied to Kashing's topic in General Dog Discussion
If all members of the house apply the same boundaries to both dogs with regards to acceptable behaviour, I don't see a problem with the pups being friends. I have 3 foster pups here - a Beagle, a Cavalier, and a Chihuahua cross... they all get on just fine - even if the Chi X is a bit rough on the others, they can outrun him... lol! I also have crates to separate them when I'm not around to supervise their play. T. -
I love the first photo of the stairway... love the composition for some reason... *grin* The creek shot is awesome too... I reckon you definitely have an eye... keep snapping away and sharing with us here please... T.

What've You Done With Your Photography This Year?
tdierikx replied to iltby's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos
I actually put my 450D on Manual focus for the first time this year - to take photos of dripping water... *grin* One day I'm gonna find some time to read the "for Dummies" book I bought, and even try to do some stuff outside my comfort zone (read set to Auto and point in the right direction) T. -
I'm Going To Brag - I Think I've Earned It.....

Awesome effort Amanda... well done!! T. -
DA does not equal HA. Just because she attacks your other dog, doesn't mean she will be likely to attack a person. Any large dog can potentially do serious damage to an uninvited guest, they question is whether they actually would attack or not. My Lab girl is definitely not HA... but I have no doubts as to her willingness to protect me if necessary... The Rotti/Pittie girl, however, is the one that makes the most noise when strangers land on my doorstep - but she's less likely to actually bite an uninvited "guest" than the Lab... Both are perfectly fine with other dogs and humans they are introduced to - and they behave well in public places. They just don't cohabit the same house very well any more. Their DA tendencies are only towards each other. Both are desexed. I've had 2 and more female dogs running perfectly well together in the past - it's just these two who have developed issues with each other... *sigh* T.

Honey Has Been With Us For One Whole Year!
tdierikx replied to dee lee's topic in General Dog Discussion
Happy Anniversary Honey!! I hope your mummy made you a special dinner to mark the occasion... Deelee - when you told me you were looking at getting a GRR dog, I knew that Wendy would see you right - especially after the nightmare you had been through with the other rescue group. Hugs at you and Honey, T. -
The sookiest lala dog I've ever had was a huge intact male Rotti... totally useless as a guard dog - or even obedience training for that matter... the big sook! The scariest thing I've seen with my own dogs is my female gold Lab tearing into the front legs of my Rotti/Pittie cross girl... I have no doubt that my Lab girl could inflict some serious damage on anyone that tried to come into my house uninvited. The Rotti/Pittie cross girl is the doorbell, and gives a very effective display when strangers come to the door, but as soon as I let anyone in, she's just a cuddle trollope... My girls have also decided they don't want to play nice together any more, and keeping them separated can be a huge PITA... but they are both my babies, so I do it... Next time I get a new dog, it will be a male... T.

Well - back when docking was still legal, I had a litter of 9 Rotti pups done (and dewclaws at the same time) for $35 per pup... Personally, I have no idea how to do it myself, and I reckon my vets charge reasonable rates to do it quickly and painlessly. T.

Hmmmm.... ?? T.

The joys of owning a Labrador... T.

I had 4 pups in one litter that had back dewclaws - removal by my vet at 3 days old was $30 per pup. This was in Sydney. I waited while they were done, and took them home to mumma straight away. T.

Just point it in the right direction, make sure your hands are steady, and push the button P_S... it really is that simple... honest! Here's a link to some more stuff taken with my S5 back in 2007... wandering around Sydney... the best stuff in in October... http://woosie.net/photogallery/index.php T.

I went to Taronga Zoo a while back with my Canon Powershot S5... I think the photos turned out nice... *grin* T.

Anyone Interested In A Pet Fox :d
tdierikx replied to Sasha (Alexander)'s topic in General Dog Discussion
Very cute pups (kits), but does anyone get the sense that they are being mass bred for the domestic market like some people are doing with regular dogs? The sheds and boxes in the puppy photos are kinda reminiscent of that sort of thing IMHO... T. -
Totally love the Lappie trying to be a Whippet... gorgeous! There is definitely something totally awe inspiring when you see great photos of Whippets doing what they do best... poetry in motion captured in stills. Phenomenal photos from Evolving and Kirislin! T.

I do say this with all respect asal... Put a gag in it will you! T.

Have you sought any help from a behaviourist/trainer to try to sort out her issues? That would probably be my next step... T.
