My Labrador bitch is around 32 kgs... and I'd like her to drop about 4 of those, as she definitely has booty going on! Did you feed your Stafford lead before you weighed him? *grin* 10kgs for a 16 week old Stafford pup seems a little on the high side... I'd be thinking closer to 7 or 8 at the most... that's what my last pure (but not well bred) Stafford foster pup weighed at 16 weeks. I suppose what we need are photos of your little keg boy... then we can see if he's just a solid little man - and everyone loves puppy photos... lol! T.

Digestive problems can also manifest in bad breath. I'd be having the vet give the dog a thorough checkup, teeth, bloods, stool sample, urine, etc... T.

:p I have some to add... You know you're a crazy dog lady when you take sick leave if one of your dogs is sick or when you are told to take "compassionate leave" for 4 days when one dies.... because you are a blubbering mess and can not get anything done! Ummm... been there... on both counts... T.

Ummm... does being able to tell which poo in the yard belongs to which dog - without seeing who did it - count? Or... your vet calls you for advice... errr! There are more dog crates in your lounge room than couches... You eat take-away a lot because the fridge and pantry are full of dog food/treats... You are definitely a crazy dog person if all of the things people say here in this thread seem perfectly normal... lol! T.

You wouldn't have been at Tania Park would you? I've seen dog walkers' vans pull up and open the door, and lots of unrestrained dogs pile out and run amok while the "professional" dog walkers try to get them to go anywhere but down the bloody cliffs... *sigh* T.

Nobody sent me a list of scary DOLers when I joined... but I have a sneaking suspicion that I may be on one if it exists... *grin* Samantha - my advice is to talk to your Mum about the ups and downs of breeding dogs - then talk to the breeder of your girl and see what they think of the idea. I wouldn't take up the offer of the sire from the person who has offered either. I'd be looking at something that wasn't being pimped out to a 21 year old's 5 month old pup... T. PS. Am I on the list? If not, could send me the list too, so I know who not to get into tangles with around here... *grin*

Maybe if she's so intent on a crossbreed dog, then you could steer her towards a rescue pup - one that has been in foster care, the carer can tell her all of the ins and outs of the dog in question... which is a whole lot more than some of the crossbreed "breeders" will tell you when trying to get you to part with your heard earned dosh... T.

My Zeddy eats poo - but only ones in our back yard. She won't eat stranger dog poo... lol! I have no idea who she learned it from, but when my old Rotti girl was alive, Zeddy would actually stand behind her and eat it as it was coming out... and THAT is the definition of gross my friends! The good thing is she only eats healthy dog poo, and only when it's still relatively fresh - apparently day old poo isn't as delicious or something... T.

OK - is your girl registered on the MAIN register in your state or whatever state she was bred in? Have you applied for a breeder's prefix from the Canine body in your state? If the answer is "no" to either or both of these questions, then I'd suggest that you desex your girl and enjoy her for who she is, rather than what she can whelp for you... Oh - and people who are "interested" in having one of your pups usually disappear or have some excuse when the subject of paying for said pup comes up... so best to advise of what price you'd be asking for one of these "possible" pups before believing anything from the "interested" parties. T.

If the on lead dog is under "effective control", then surely it would follow that it should not be the one to make the first aggressive move, yes? If the on lead dog bites the off lead dog, and a fight ensues where one or both dogs are in need of veterinary attention, then it would probably be up to eyewitness accounts of the incident that will swing the "fault" one way or the other. I own larger breed dogs - I have been in situations where an off lead dog has approached with intent, and my dogs take their lead from ME, not the other dog's antics. that is what I take the meaning of "effective control" to be - not just the fact that my dog is on a lead... I've seen plenty of on lead dogs who were clearly NOT under "effective control" by the people at the other end of those leads... *grin* T.
