  1. Thank you for explaining it so well dogmad... T.
  2. Ummmm... "shambles" describes my setup... lol! I have doggy toys all over the house and yard. Leads and collars are in the computer room. Treats are in the computer room too. Medical supplies are in the bathroom and in the kitchen. Dry food is in tubs in kitchen and laundry... and raw food is in fridge and freezer. Spare bedding for crates is in a basket on top of the dryer. I really need to clean up and get organised, but the dogs seem to cope just fine... lol! T.
  3. Maybe ask your local vet what the obligations are for your queries... better still, ring a few vets and ask... T.
  4. My heart dog was a Rottie girl named Woosie - the most beautiful girl on the planet. Everyone who met her wanted to take her home. She went to the Bridge in 2004. I still cry when thinking about her... *sob* T.
  5. @_____________________________@ @_______________________________@ @______________________________@ (rolls in a few more really big couches to accommodate the growing crowd... and their furfriends...) Waiting patiently every day for a good update on Jed's recovery... I'm thinking we'll all hear the roar of happy shouts when she's awake and has the tube out... Thinking of you and yours daily Jed... come back to us in your own time, OK? T.
  6. So their entire male dog "likes" humping other male dogs... funnily enuff, that don't make him "gay" - but something else entirely - and it's not a good thing... I agree with giving them Wendy's contact number - she'll definitely set them straight... *grin* T.
  7. Still no setbacks... doing well Jed... Still missing you terribly. T.
  8. Thanks Steve... Chi Chi is so cute in her fancy jacket... T.
  9. Happy Birthday Julie... hope you have great day and that your birthday wishes come true... T.
  10. I agree with casowner... well said... T.
  11. If I have a suitably large foster dog and my rescue group coordinator agrees - call on me anytime, OK? My permanent girls are just under the 30kg mark and though desexed now, have each had one litter in the past... so they might not be suitable... T.
  12. I hope someone is printing those photos for Jed to look at when she's up to it... I'm sure she'll be happier then, knowing that her surviving furkids are getting so much love and attention while they wait for her to come back to them... Thank you so much for posting the pics Steve... another Chi Chi fan here who's loving her new coated look... *grin* T.
  13. Hang on... is she being done by regs in the "Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act [2006]"? If so, what month in 2006 did that Act become law? She may get very lucky and have beaten it by a month or two?? Seriously, they can't backdate laws/regs to suit their own purposes this far down the track... Worth a looky Steve! T.
  14. I have a 7.5 month old desexed male Dane cross foster rescue pup here... last weigh-in about 3 weeks ago he was 28kg (and has grown since then). I would have to clear it with the rescue organisation I foster for, but he may fit the bill for a one off blood donation if he's deemed suitable and types correctly... He's a little shy, but if I'm allowed to sit with him for the donation process, he will be fine and calm... he's a big mummy's boy... *sigh* T.
  15. Still checking regularly for updates... missing Jed terribly, as this place isn't the same without her here... T.
  16. Poor CK... I hope he/she wasn't too traumatised by the experience... T.
  17. Does this guy seem like the type that might be liable to enact some sort of "payback" on you or your dogs if he doesn't get what he thinks he's entitled to? It might just be safer for you and your dogs to give him his money back for the dog and then send it's papers back to Dogs Vic as deceased. If the pup was limited register, then nothing sired by it can be registered with Dogs Vic, correct? Shouldn't matter too much to give the guy a photocopy of the papers then - and send the originals back to Dogs Vic to inform them that the pup is now deceased - it's not like he's going to be able to transfer the papers into his name now the dog has passed, right? If that will satisfy the guy... I still see him coming back later and demanding some sort of financial compensation also... Your choice is whether you take the loss and give him a full refund just to avoid any nastiness in the future - or whether you want his threats hanging over you for some time into the future... I know which one I'd choose... T.
  18. I purposely shared my Paddle Pop with my little foster boy Barney last night... we both enjoyed it immensely... *grin* One nibble for me, then a nibble for him, then another for me... etc... he was very patient when it was my turn for a nibble too - showed very good restraint methinks... T.
  19. Ummm... doesn't home and contents insurance cover public liability for incidents on your property? Mine does. And if some idiot had a dangerous dog (of any breed) out in the street, don't we have other legal avenues for that sort of thing? T.
  20. If the dogs were dark coloured and being walked in a not well lit area, then I could see it happening - however, I would be questioning the driver of the vehicle for maybe going a bit faster than he should have been. Fancy not being able to see 2 dogs in yer headlights in the middle of the night on an airport tarmac... T.
  21. I'm checking my candle regularly, and relighting it when it goes out - have set a bookmark to the candles even... *grin* I'm hoping that "no improvement' means no further setbacks... please get better Jed - the world is feeling just a bit "wrong" with you out of action... T.
  22. Awwww... she is seriously pretty! Happy Birthday Penny! T.
  23. From your photos, I can see that your girl is a VERY much loved little lady... now it's time to "love" her with food a little less - and she will be around to give you her own special love back for many years. I don't want to scare you, but obesity in such a young dog can have huge health impacts very quickly if not remedied early. You don't want her to have heart failure at 3 or 4 years old, do you? She will be able to give you just as much love and cuddles as a slimmer girl... honest!! T.
  24. Yay for Charlie... and his little sister Emmy for making him get stronger and much happier... T.
