  1. Today's photos... ... as you can see in the last photo, Pickles isn't all that enthused with hordes of puppies... lol! T.
  2. Hehe! She was anything but... lol! T.
  3. My Rotties were... Woosie Blossom Rastus Shadow Punkin Dexter Connor Mutts... Rebel (Goldie/BC -looked like a wire haired BC) Zeddy (Rotti/Pittie) Trouble (Lab/Dingo) Pickles (Camp Dog - makes Heinz 57 look purebred) Harper (Staffy/Dane) I've named hundreds of rescue pups and dogs over the years too... errr! Best lot were... Tarquin Theodore Nathaniel Fable Scout T.
  4. The goats obviously don't eat the birds... and must not be messing up their habitat to the extent that it's an issue... Looks like they may have to cull the goats by shooting on a regular basis... like they do with the roos in Canberra when they get to plague proportions. We messed up the balance by encraoching on habitats and introducing certain species, so we might just have to work a bit harder to keep numbers under control. What gets me is widespread baiting of pest species usually works up and down the food chain - with unintended collateral damage to those animals that we are trying to save form so called pests... *sigh* There will be no easy answer or quick and dirty solution I'm afraid... T.
  5. A couple of them have those hazel/green eyes... I'm tipping they were bluey coloured a few weeks ago when they were really little. And perse, you'd love the black/tan girl... she's soft natured and not clingy... *grin* T.
  6. Massive heart hugs to you DDD... having had to say goodbye to my heart dog some years ago, I can feel your pain... *sob* T.
  7. Ummm... not so much with them... apart from giving them more toys to destroy instead of digging more holes in my yard... lol! I felt bad after my last post, so edited a few photos for their adoring fans... *grin* Enjoy! T.
  8. Well... I've been slack and haven't gone through the photos yet... but will tomorrow, OK? T.
  9. Oh DDD... my heart breaks for you... dear little Red Man will always be in your heart... remember him with smiles for all of the wonderful times you had... Fly with the angels Danny... you've earned your rest now little man. T.
  10. Well... the first time I've slept past 7am for the longest time... and I had the backyard alarm clocks going off at 9am... loud enough to wake me, and my room is at the front of the house! Crawled out of bed, let Harper out for potty, then brought her back in and sorted the noisy nine... chicken mince, Pedigree puppy tinnned, and Bonnie Puppy kibble... all fat and fed, and playing happily in the yard now... all poops picked up too... I took photos again yesterday afternoon, and will post up here once I've been through them... T.
  11. westiemum... http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/267227-new-foster-babies-9-x-dingocattle/ T.
  12. They are so gorgeous it makes yer eyes leak... T.
  13. Oooh! He looks very Tibetan Spaniel to me... wait until Mita sees him! For night time, can you set up a crate in your bedroom where he can see you on the bed? Pop him in it, then go to sleep - turn off the light etc... he should settle pretty quickly if he can see you sleeping. As for the pacing and not settling... what if you take some downtime too? Sit on the couch and watch TV or read a book, and let him settle next to you or by your feet. He might get the idea that it's time to rest then. If you have to leave him, maybe a meaty bone or Kong stuffed with something he likes may take his mind off being alone for a while? Mita will have more breed specific advice (if he's a Tibbie)... T.
  14. It's not easy getting photos of 9 attention seeking pups on your own... lol! Every time I go in the yard I have puppies all around my feet and jumping up at me... I have to wait for them to get bored with me and start doing their own thing, but as soon as I move, I'm swarmed again... aarrgghh! All fed dinner now and safely ensconced in their pen in the granny flat for the night. They are very clean out in the yard - they poo at the edges or in the corners - loving it! T.
  15. Well, I just did an undercarriage check... we have 4 boys and 5 girls... lol! 3 of the boys are the 3 biggest pups overall, so shouldn't be hard to tell which they are... T.
  16. They've travelled all the way from Tennant Creek... mum was the cattle and was surrendered pregnant to a person up there who does rescue, so they were born in rescue and given a good start as far as health and socialisation goes. Kudos to the person from Tennant Creek for doing a really great job with them too... they are lovely and precocious, and very well mannered - well... as far as a 7 week old puppy can be anyways... lol! It feels good to have a pack of puppies about again... even with the amount of poo they can make... *grin* They are all going to be stunning dogs when they grow up methinks. The tan ones in this litter look a lot like this fellow when he was a puppy... T.
  17. So far they are just like any other crossbred puppies... although a couple of the smaller ones have got a bit of attitude, but that's probably because they get jumped on by a couple of the larger ones and need to hold their own... *grin* I haven't even tried to see how many of each sex we have, or taken note of who is who... gotta make me a list with markings and the like... The boy with the white stripe is named Sargeant Pepper, and the black and tan girl is named Max/Maxi... or so I've been told... still have to get the rest of the names yet... all named after Beatles songs apparently. T.
  18. That should do you all for today methinks... *grin* I gots 9 x puppy breath machines!!! T.
  19. Took possession of these little beauties last night... aren't they just totes adorbs? More coming... T.
  20. Well... actually 10 arrived last night... lol! One litter of nine 7 week old Dingo cross who are simply adorable... and one single little Dingo cross girl who had been found wandering alone on the side of a road in Tennant Creek! I'd guess her age at around 7-8 weeks. All 10 flew from Alice Springs. Arrived at my place at about 6:30pm. Popped the 9 in my playpen in the granny flat with food and water, all food eaten, then they piled together and went to sleep like real little pros. The little single girl was still a little under the weather from her trip, so got a very small feed to see if it stayed down... gave her the rest a bit later. She's in a cage crate in my lounge room, so we had couch cuddles later in the evening, then I popped her back in the crate with a couple of large teddy bears, and she went to sleep and not a peep from her all night. Funniest thing was when we were feeding the 9 in the granny flat, Ghost (the fox) was carrying on from his pen, giving alert barks for a good 30 minutes... he loves dogs, and obviously worked out that we'd brought in a few newbies... lol! He won't be meeting them for a couple of weeks, but after that, we might see how they all get on in a controlled setting... The single pup will be picked up today by the rescue to be fostered elsewhere. She's a bit skinny and will need a bit more one-on-one care and attention. She's timid, but is willing to come and solicit pats if you don't make sudden movements or try to pick her up quickly... she'll come out of her shell just fine fairly soon I reckon. Other funny thing was Pickles meeting the single girl in my lounge room... both of them camp dogs... it was like a long lost family reunion... "hey cuz!"... lol! This morning, Harper realised that there are puppies in the granny flat... she's guarding the door to it now... all puppies here are hers you know! Once the frost goes from the back yard, I'll let the 9 out and get some photos... and start another thread for them, OK? T.
  21. The Concord one is the one off Underwood Rd? If so, that's where my Woosie did her training before we moved to Riverwood... they were pretty good way back then... I went to St George a few times with Pickles, and they were really good about her mobility issues... and we learned that she CAN sit on command... lol! They were also amenable to training her on a harness, as she can't wear a collar due to the hypersensitive spots on her neck. The trainer I had spent a little bit of one-on-one time with each beginner dog too. Hawthorne were great for a few of my foster pups, even though it's really busy down there, but they managed to keep focus, and were amenable to the NOT giving food rewards if you didn't want to. They also used to allow you to join for free with rescue fosters. If you want to work with his attention during distractions, Hawthorne is probably the best place for that... and Sam will get to meet lots of dogs of different sizes all in the same place... and I mean LOTS! T.
