Susan Garrett Recallers Online Course
silentchild replied to Leah82's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I got an email saying the course reopened so I said Screw It and threw all my money out the window. I'm in. :D I will probably have almost no time for it but will make time! Really hoping to improve my relationship with Breeze and build more motivation & drive in her even without treats! For relationship building I recently did the personal play course with Denise Fenzi but I struggled a little bit as Breeze is quite reserved. Hoping we can get some new ideas out of this course! I'm silentchild on there too. -

Introduction To Scent Sports
silentchild replied to Scottsmum's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I agree, I would love to do a scent work / nose work class in Melbourne. -
My dog has the same issue - RMBs everyday, brushing her teeth often, and she's been on Plaque Off for about a year now - but still no difference with plaque on her canines. It's very frustrating. Short of her having a dental at the vets I'm not sure what more I can do.

I have been following the videos and wanting to do this course but the price was a bit of a shock! Now you all are seriously making me consider pressing the Let Me In button... Do the games take up a lot of time? I don't know how I'll be able to fit it in along with our regular training and fitness training! -

Tell Me About Dog Treadmills?
silentchild replied to kelpiecuddles's topic in General Dog Discussion
Huski, do the Dog Pacer treadmills have incline and decline functions? I was led to believe only the Fit Fur Life ones have this feature. I would seriously consider a Dog Pacer one if it had it too, but their website doesn't mention it. -

Worrying Trend In The Show Ring
silentchild replied to aussielover's topic in General Dog Discussion
I just had a look at the website of some working labradors - Philippa Williams and Levenghyl Labradors comes to mind as I always love watching her gundog demonstrations at Crufts, and the working labradors I can see on the websites and in her videos definitely look slighter in build. I remember the labrador who won BOB at Crufts last year was also a stocky looking fellow - in fact I remember a thread about it here as well, lol. There is only one breed standard after all - shouldn't all lab breeders endeavour to breed just one "type" of labrador to the breed standard and not have such a clear difference between the slighter working line and the stockier show line? I know nothing about labradors so genuinely curious. -
When You Stay In Dog Friendly Accommodation
silentchild replied to sheena's topic in General Dog Discussion
If the rules say no then I wouldn't. All the dog friendly places I've stayed at however don't have a rule about it and provide covers for the furniture, which I appreciate. Though at the last place I stayed I didn't let her on the bed anyway just because it was too high and I was worried about her jumping off in the middle of the night. To be honest if a place had really strict rules about what my dog can or cannot do I simply wouldn't book the place. -
What are the benefits of doing a CGC? I've always been curious. Do you get special permit to take your dog places or something?

Would the 55cm not fit a border collie, BC Crazy?
-
Yes, also agree to Aussie Shepherd. :) I love the breed, I rarely recommend them but I think in your situation an Aussie would be quite happy and suit very well.

I had a look, plenty of large in the store near me but they definitely aren't large enough for Breeze! So I didn't get one but I did get one of the little cat caves. Eta for spelling
