  1. You'll be at K9 on Wednesdays? Obedience training with the Amstaff club. ;) Tuesdays too when I can get Bear into ACWA. There's no stopping me now I have my doggy mobile. :D I'll be starting puppy ACWA classes with mum and dad's mini schnauzer, probably term 4 (if there are spots available, haven't checked yet!). I finally get a small dog to play agility with! If it doesn't grow oversize, I expect it to be a 300 dog (I think!), yippee!!! So it might be you, me and RV in puppy ACWA classes together :p
  2. How long did you wait for? Until the lights were out and even training on the top oval had wrapped up? I thought YOU were bringing cake, having the UDX pass afterall! Or is that only reserved for Wed night training? ;) I was way too tired after a full day yesterday to make cake anyway
  3. I got my mum to write me a sick note for training tonight Rushed to mum's after work to finish the dog coats I've been making them so I could rug Ruby up in the cold tonight and feel better about it, but the damn thread kept breaking so it took longer than expected But I figure the dogs and I can use the rest, because if we went tonight, we'd only be having Wednesday off in 11 straight days of training/trialling. Got another full weekend coming up! Very happy though that their jackets came out pretty schmick!! They look sexy in their matching red and black snuggly jackets
  4. how cute is Em. Don't think I updated this thread with my latest progress. I am soooooo chuffed with Ruby beyond words :D Might not seem like much to you guys but on Friday at training we flung her first birdie from the thrower, landing in a bit of cover, and she promptly found it, brought it back to me, with not even the slightest contemplation of playing with or munching it She looked so damn proud of herself when she delivered, she was leaping about on her toes, but I think my joyous party told her she did something really good! Next up was dummy in the water. The first one didn't land where it was meant to, which made it a heck of a lot harder for her. She entered the water, couldn't find it, exited, ran around trying to find a better entry, finally decided to go back in where she came from to persevere, swam round the corner and found it. So happy she didn't lose confidence, she just kept on hunting of her own accord! Didn't bring it back the way she went in, however, as she'd already swam round the corner so she hopped out of the bank there and came around to bring it back. And yes, she did bring it back, all the way, no dropping it at the bank to shake I'm pleased as punch with my girl :D Gosh this retrieving thing is just so much fun :D
  5. I assume you mean ANKC? I don't know anything about ADAA. ANKC Jumping includes jumps, a spread, broad jump, tunnels, and the tyre. You know if you're ready if your dog can get around an entire course successfully and most importantly, confidently I suppose? More experienced people will have better advice, I'm sure. The only bit of advice I can offer is don't rush, there's plenty of time to be ready!
  6. Well done mirawee! Especially to Banjo, I watched his runs and he was a good boy! I almost lost Ruby to an off course tunnel when I took my eyes off her for a second coming out of the pinwheel in JDX. I expected her to be there but no, she saw the tunnel in her direct path and decided that was the way to go obviously Lucky I called her off in plenty of time to get her back on course I'm just so happy she doesn't appear worse for wear after getting back into it after almost 6 weeks off agility training. She wasn't lame last night or this morning so fingers crossed it stays that way! Her weaves were a bit messy for all the missed training we've had, so we're going to start making up for it at training this week! Just don't like jumping her when it's so damn cold Hoping to finish the dog coats off today after work as mum should be picking me up some velcro today so at least they can sport their new jackets between training rounds!
  7. for Kenzie. Tiggy, what kind of car you getting? I thought you only recently got a brand new Astra Wagon??
  8. You can do one, you can do the other, or you can do both. Agility includes contact equipment such as A-Frame, dogwalk, seesaw, table. Agility also includes weaves, while jumping doesn't (except Open Jumping includes weaves, just to confuse you more ;)) You might want to start out on jumping if your dog hasn't got weaving down pat yet, or has contact issues.
  9. Shame that you will miss the double header agility trial, though!!
  10. Seita! I've done similar, but not with an NRM! I was walking through the shops holding my niece's hand and she went to touch something and I said "leave it!" in that "tone" and something else training related I can't remember now I think some kid's would benefit from clicker training, though, and lots of positive reinforcement! ;)
  11. I saw young Pippa's afternoon JD run, very nice and clear round! (speaking of the name Pippa, that is what my parent's are calling their new mini schnauzer pup, which I'll be bringing down to ACWA to do puppy classes with). Millie the little bugger knocked that 3rd bar, costing us our JD title And knocked the bar on the spread on the run home in the AM agility trial, costing us her AD title! Little sh*ts sometimes But we had a ball :D Ruby scored her first JDX pass in the PM with 3rd place! Woohoo
  12. Mid year really sucks for lack of obedience trials! When they must be conducted during the day, we have the majority of them in the hotter parts of the year! Colder winter days and they are few and far between! I think there's like 1 trial a month for June/July/August. I remember because it was last year I started trialling with Millie and it was agonising only having 1 trial a month! That's my whinge for the day I think my next ob trial is in August I am sooooooooo knackered today after the double header agility trial yesterday. And there's another next weekend, and the weekend after that! Pleased though that Ruby got her first leg of JDX And Millie almost polished off her AD and JD titles yesterday. Stupid knocked bar!!
  13. Thanks! I was only JUST looking up Joint Guard to compare prices and place an order, so will look at this too!
  14. Congrats Ptolomy and Bedazzled on the UDX passes!! I'm bummed that I am usually too busy with my own girls to actually sit and watch one of your UDX rounds! Well done to RV and Toby on your CCD NFC recall! He did good!!! I do have your video RV, wasn't on the computer at all yesterday and I'm too shattered at the moment after a long day to find the video camera (not sure where I put it!) but will send you your video soon ok!! Congrats also to TrinaJ on the ET title!! That takes a lot of work and dedication to train, something I'm not sure I will ever get round to doing, even though I'd like to! Small brags from me for today. Millie got another JD pass, and almost got another today for her title if it wasn't for one lousy knocked bar! Same with AD, she knocked the bar on the spread, costing us her last pass for her AD title. Ruby also got her first pass in JDX with 3rd place!
  15. I feel your pain. My street has a different offlead dog a few times a week at the minimum. Just this week the dog down the road was out AGAIN so this time I called the council. Took the ranger over half an hour to call me back for more details, then another half hour for him to come out. In the meantime, the same dog and it's doggy housemate were out together, further up the street across the road from my house. Running to and fro across the road into people gardens, so I called the council back to report 2 dogs now. Finally saw the ranger come down the street but they never called me back to let me know the outcome. Only a few weeks ago I called about another stray dog in my street, but that time they had the decency to call me back and let me know the outcome. Been attacked by 2 dogs in the same street on a previous occasion, so that is why I am so frightened of ALL offlead dogs, and the majority of them live in my street! Can't/won't walk my dogs in my neighbourhood anymore, too frightened. I really hope council don't give out the information to the owners about who made the call, because I have unsavoury neighbours in my street which I am sure are capable of "payback". They say they don't disclose that info, but it's still a fear of mine! Don't want to put me, and even more importantly, my own dogs at risk! But I am not going to let these morons get away with it any longer so I'm on mission doggy dobber to clean up my neighbourhood!
  16. Me too. I say thankyou, excuse me, please, and bless you. And have conversations with them like they can answer me. You do crazy things when you only have dogs as company most of the week :p My favourite time is in the morning as I'm getting ready for work. Millie takes herself back off to bed and Ruby sits in the bathroom with me and I stop and give her cuddles/pats because it's "our" time without Millie butting in! She's a different/happier girl when it's just us We've always spent that time together in the morning since I've had her.
  17. I think I used my year's worth of good luck last Monday Sorry to hear about Boots Sending healing vibes his way!
  18. Awesomeness, just checked the dogswest site for trial times and it's a later start than usual so I have time to go to the shop in the morning :D
  19. Lucky duck! Still waiting for WA's first RATG to enter my girls!!!
  20. Awesome, Hannah! Are you doing the whole round or just one exercise like first planned? And lucky Toby, popcorn chicken!! I got a bit caught up today with a few things that I forgot to go to the shop to purchase some jackpots. What time is vetting tomorrow? I may have to stop at the shop on the way if it's open! Ptolomy, can you please save me a parking spot if you are able to? :D
  21. So quiet! Good luck, hope she's been knocked up successfully
  22. Is there a time limit to being able to transfer a dog from Limited to Mains? I thought it was 2 years or something, but would love for that to be clarified.
