  1. very cute photos, all of them. Frodo looks like he's thinking Ho Ho HUM.
  2. thanks Marg, these one's are mini me whippets, well not quite, they're Italian Greyhounds. A bit like whippets on speed.
  3. this afternoon. She loves this fluffy old ball. It's the only toy of the whippets' that hasn't been destroyed. I've put it through the washing machine but it's still looking a little worse for wear. Actually now that I think about it, it's hardly surprising, it must be about 9 years old! It's a fun inside toy because I can throw it without breaking anything. 5F6A0447dppt by kirislin, on Flickr 5F6A0446dppt by kirislin, on Flickr Work it baby! 4. Me too, I love them. We went to an Iggy get together yesterday and really enjoyed it. Neko went rummaging through my camera bag 5F6A0406dppt by kirislin, on Flickr 5F6A0407dppt by kirislin, on Flickr Not sure if she found what she was looking for.
  5. I forgot to mention, I've also trained my friends 2 Italian Greyhounds and one Min Pin chi x to co-exist with my chook. Her dogs come here alot, in fact are here now so they had to learn too. The male IG was especially keen on Blondie and even now I have to watch him, but considering I have 9 dogs and one chook all together in the yard they're pretty good. I dont know if all dogs can be taught, I hope it's possible with your pup too. All the best.
  6. One of my whippets eats huntsman, she can tell the difference between other spiders and wont touch them. I dont know how she figured it out either.
  7. You poor thing. Definitely talk to the breeder. I agree with what others have said regarding separting them for now, with a lead or crate. You might be able to train your puppy though, depends really on the individual. I have 5 whippets and an Italian greyhound puppy with a free ranging chook. I got the chooks when the whippets were all mature and all my whippets have a strong urge to chase small animals. 3 have previously raced. It took a good 6 months to teach them not to chase the chooks. I kept the chooks locked up for about 5 months and then started putting them in a temporary enclosure on the grass. Whenever the whippets would look interested I'd tell them to leave, or No, but they had already learnt those commands applied to other things, so you need to start training those commands now. they can apply to anything, a toy, food, whatever. The IG puppy is only just learning now to leave the chook alone, although with her being so tiny I also had to watch that the chook didn't hurt her, it's a pretty ballsy chook. I never leave them unsupervised but I've noticed the last week or so she's not taken much notice of the chook, only to keep out of its way. Definitely doable, but it takes work. Here's my only remaining chook, Blondie sunbaking with my 2 big boy whippets Tag and Puck. *the dogs didn't kill the rest of my chooks, they died from other causes. 5F6A0181dppt by kirislin, on Flickr Oh, and good luck.
  8. Love that expression! I've never heard it. So that is my something learnt for today   And it will be stored away ready to use. same here, not sure if it's a Stans Mum original. Might be, she says some funny things sometimes.
  9. It's almost Summer, and that means.................WATERMELON!!!! 5F6A0387dppt by kirislin, on Flickr
  10. yeah, it's pretty amazing, it's so sleek and slippery. Like a little seal. Oh, forgot to mention it here, she has a registered name now. Roskyle Too Many Kisses mwah! Hopefully coming to a show ring near you. Ah! Roskyle ... In the other thread, you made a typo - Rosklye. LOL, now I can pronounce it thanks for telling me, I didn't realise, fixed now. :D
  11. can you at least put a soft fluffy toy in with her. I know someone who raised an orphan kitten and she loved snuggling into her toy.

  13. I love the look of her lithe little body in the 2nd dead bird shot.
  14. I have a real soft spot for Pekes. We had one when I was a kid, a pedigree too, from Little Lemon kennels. We didn't show her, she was just a pet, and such a sweet little girl.
  15. I'll take some more of her soon. I'm glad you like seeing her. I look at her and I cannot believe how beautiful she is. I dont mean as far as being a show quality puppy, honestly, I have no idea, although some one thinks I reckon I know it all, she couldn't be more wrong. If Neko turns out good enough to show I'll be very happy for Marcus and Lorna, but for me, I just want to love her and enjoy her here, with the pack. I feel like the luckiest person in the world right now, she is a living work of art in my eyes, a joy to behold!! 5F6A0375dppt by kirislin, on Flickr Now the next ones come with a warning. It's cute but gruesome. Neko found a dead bird and was playing with it. Dont look if you think you might be offended by seeing a dead bird. I've already had 2 complaints, even though I made it clear from the start that there was a dead bird and like this, enclosed it in a spoiler. So again, there's a dead bird in the next 2 photos. Dont look if you dont want to see a dead bird. I'm not kidding. Is that clear enough, get it? Dont look if you dont want to see a dead bird.
  16. Is this the IG that is advertised on gumtree?
  17. If I had a sick puppy I'd take her to the vet. She is clearly unwell if she's been so flat today. They can go downhill fast. Did you get her vaccination card. They usually give it with the puppy.
  18. He's is very beautiful! Great shots of him too, I bet she loves them. Blue merle is a stunning colour, I wish whippets had this gene.
  19. Stan's going Wha?..............
  20. I've taught 2 of my whippets to speak on command and whippets aren't usually a vocal breed. I was lucky though Penny and her son Puck tend to bark if they're excited and I capitalised on that.
