It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Xmas...
Kirislin replied to HazyWal's topic in General Dog Discussion
that cheeky Sid looks like he's been gardening. -
I'm so sorry. I hope the selling price wasn't affected by them, and I also hope they're not making their new neighbours life a misery.

Am I reading it right NicB, did you end up moving after all? If so that's very sad, you'd put so much work into your property.
-
Looks like it was fun.

I love how some of the cats are looking so innocent as if to say, I'm not doing anything. Something I've noticed with some videos of late, some of these clips had it, I see in on the news sometimes too, is that they just show a narrow band of film in the middle in focus and either side is blurry, why do they do that? I find it really annoying.

Farouk is an Arabic name.

I didn't see any mention of the size of the dogs.

I'm the same as kelpiecuddles, anything larger than a kelpie is big, so labs GSDs etc, they're big to me.

Here's my sweet Penny being used as a mattress for Neko. 5F6A0455dppt by kirislin, on Flickr

you should have bought him!!  yes the way I wrote that looks like he was for sale. I did stalk them and was raving on about Neko and they were looking at me like I was a nutter that's so funny. I went to an iggy get together on the weekend and didn't know anyone there but when I walked in alot of people said, "is that Neko?" I should have called her Fame after all.

AS an adult I've only had whippets and a whippet IG cross. Only the whippets have been with me to old age. Kiri and Iris both were put down within 5 weeks of each other at 12 years old. Iris had heart problems, and Kiri had liver diesase. I consider they died young. Now I have 5 aging whippets, Penny at 14years 7mths is the oldest dog I've had. She's on meds for arthritis and is now thin and frail and her voice is a whisper, but she'll still instigate a game with the new puppy. Kibah is almost 14 and physically could probably pass for a much younger dog, perhaps about 8yo? But she's gone deaf and does some odd things sometimes. Her appetite is good though so I'm actually letting her build up a bit of fat, not much, but just in case she goes off her food for a few days like Penny sometimes does, she'll have a bit in reserve. Her daughter Feather is almost 12 and apart from a very grey face looks very good. She's not deaf or senile and is actually learning something new, to play. She's never been one to play with other dogs but since I got my puppy she's very gradually coming round to the concept. The 2 boys Tag and Puck are Pennys sons. They just turned 9 in Sept and have started going grey in the face, but are still healthy and playful, much like their mother was until she got to about 11 1/2 so I hope they'll continue on for a while.

thanks Marg, these one's are mini me whippets, well not quite, they're Italian Greyhounds. A bit like whippets on speed. Oops sorry they look so similar, well to me anyway  They are related, they're both sighthounds. Some big IGs are mistaken for whippets and some little whippets are mistaken for IGs so it's easily done. Whippet puppies look alot clunkier that IG puppies though, IG pups still have fine little legs.

Is This A Standard Groomers Technique?
Kirislin replied to Little Gifts's topic in General Dog Discussion
Poor cat, I would imagine that would be quite traumatic for it. I'd also be worried your dog might get skin infection from their hydrobath if it's dirty because the water circulates through for the wash cycle. I'd assume the rinse is straight from the tap, but the wash water goes into a holding tank thingy and is pumped around. If it's not cleaned thoroughly after every wash it could spread germs. -
I wish I hadn't looked.

Oh what a horrible death, you would imagine his mother would have been frantic.

I saw this on a whippet forum. It's in Croydon, I'm wondering if any vet nurses here work at the clinic he was taken to. Hope the little fella's going to be OK http://www.theage.com.au/victoria/buddy-the-whippet-rescued-from-burning-house-20131204-2ypsg.html

Is This 'right' Or 'ethical' For A Breeder To Do..
Kirislin replied to Roova's topic in General Dog Discussion
I think it would be normal to colour code them with collars because it could be hard to tell them apart. As to the rest I dont know. -

  those pussycats look like they're going to take revenge upon you while you're sleeping. -
Dont you wish wrinkles on us looked so endearing.

the guinea fowl are amazing, those funny growths around their beaks must be like cupped hands to make their voice throw louder in the direction they're calling. Fascinating. If that was my bird I'd name it Priscilla
-
It's just one brilliant shot after another! that zooming kite, and the swimming otter, and the bird with the fake eyelashes, and the funny tapir who looks like it's stolen someones false teeth  You get so many shots where they're actually doing something too. They're amazing. I only ever seem to get them sleeping.

I didn't edit this photo, my friend Marcus did, but it is of my puppy Neko. It's the design for the breeders Christmas card this year. Roskyle Xmas Edit by kirislin, on Flickr
