Normally I wouldn't have mentioned it but I think maybe Rubiton uses or used it and she does racehorse photography, I think it's her business, but not sure.

Show Great Dane Worth $27,000 Stolen From Rv (us)
Kirislin replied to Maxiewolf's topic in In The News
Hmmmm..who sets these prices. I bet $27K isn't what he paid for it but what it's insured for and now the dog is missing. I wonder how long it has to be gone for the insurance company to pay out. Yeah, yeah I know, age/life has made me cynical. I dont think it was insured -

If I had an animal that valuable I would have it insured. -
If left untreated would it recover by itself? I'd never heard of this until I read it on DOL a while back. It's a very strange condition.

I'll be asking your for advice soon, I've only read the manual that comes with it and a few threads on POTN

Yes it was me. It has alot of settings and options within those settings that can be very daunting. It's a whole lot of camera and can take a bit of getting used to. It takes some comittment to learn, it's not necessarily one you can just turn on and start snapping away, depending on what you want to photograph.

I thought it was normal. All the ones I've seen have been very red to start with.

 I think L stand for Luxury but I'm not sure.

I'd be interested to know, I have one near a heater. Better move it away.

Now that's one lens that is alot cheaper if you were to buy grey market and still might be worth considering, DWI has it for $702 or maybe even this one http://www.dwidigitalcameras.com.au/store/product.asp?idProduct=726 which would give you more reach. I see at the top of their page they are saying they offer a legitimate manufacturers warranty, I've never seen that before and am not 100% what they mean as they're grey market sellers as far as I know.

I've missed seeing your photos too. It's so good to see the current pack and Saxon is beautiful. I laughed at TLCs Blue Steel comment and went back to look, and laughed again. I'm sorry Chester's had such trouble with his neck, Penny has an intermittent problem with hers too and it's heartbreaking when she is in trouble with it. It seems longer since Jamie passed Saxon looks like he was semaphoring with those ears. He wants a job in the Navy.

Healesville sanctuary now has and interactive walk through the parrots. It's lovely, you can feed them if you want, they land on you even if you dont want  and it's a great chance to see them up really close and take photos. I only had my 50mm yesterday but I'll go back with my big lens sometime soon. C & C On Brenizer Method Landscape
Kirislin replied to Are You Serious Jo's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos
I would have thought you shouldn't refocus, because if you did you'd be getting all different depths of field, unless you were able to focus on something at exactly the same distance as your main subject. So I think you did the right thing. I haven't read about how to do it though, I'm just trying to imagine how you would, so perhaps I'm wrong. I also suspect it looks best when the subject is at eye level, like the lovely example Snook posted. Rev Jo I think yours looks like you were slightly higher than the dog? I have no idea if I am correct, just guessing here. -
It never occured to me to look on facebook for a 7D forum  I'm on POTN which is a Canon photography forum, it's good but some there think they are pretty superior and like to belittle people.

why doesn't someone in the area just email them and take up their offer to view the pups?
-
I dont think he does this, although he's not living with me so I'm not 100% certain.

I have filters on the lenses I've taken to the beach but if it was a really windy day I supposed I might rub it over with a well wrung out barely damp soft cloth. It's never come to that as yet though. I worry more about sand getting into the wheel at the back of the camera. I've felt it get a bit gritty but thankfully it seems to have worked it self out again.
