  1. has anyone got this lens yet? http://www.dwidigitalcameras.com.au/store/product.asp?idProduct=4456 If so, what's it like?
  2. slower in the dark because it's probably hunting for focus.
  3. Well done! I agree about the ear tips. The colours (and your processing) are just lovely on that camera.
  4. I'd love to know what happened, did the poo smearer get charged with assault or did the bloke get charged for littering for not picking up his dogs poo?

  6. When I first read your thread.I thought you were having a baby, but you mean you have a bitch about to whelp dont you  When my whippet had 9 pups and was in intensive care, I had to take the surviving pups home to hand raise. Another whippet person heard of my plight and his bitch had whelped a small litter the very next day, so he put some afterbirth in his fridge and some of my pups were taken to her. They rubbed the afterbirth on them and plonked them in with his bitch and she took them straight away. Nothing does a better job of raising puppies than a good mothering bitch.
  7. I feel like I've read this before, it might have happened some time ago. It says the dogs wasn't allowed to be left alone in the apartment for more than 9 hours. That seems an awful long time to leave a dog in an apartment to me anyway. I too wonder why he didn't move. It's very sad indeed.
  8. Yes the light is often poor, mid Winter, the sun low in the sky so usually need high ISO if you want to go with a fast shutter. I actually love the effect it gives though. Nope, whippets! :D a sort of mini version of the greyhound. Whippet racing is amateur though, no betting and the dogs are pets first so wont be culled if they're too slow.
  9. Twice now I've had aggressive dogs front up to me while I was in my own paddock. The first one was a big thing and I felt quite frightened by it. I rang the council and was told I would have to catch it and have it contained before they'd come out. The second one belongs to a neighbour and it and it's little mate come over here at least twice a day to harrass and stir up my dogs. I'm pretty much over these dogs too.
  10. I get very confused with tripods, all the different models and ways of attaching to camera or lens. I think I'd have a use for one but it's all in the too hard basket right now.
  11. I've been looking after my friends Iggies (Italian Greyhounds) for almost a week now. They all know me and my dogs and are pretty settled here but last night they went a bit strange. The 2 males suddenly became very amorous with each other. I haven't seen them do this before, but both were licking the others privates and doing lots of air humping, and when Peanut, a female, wanted to join in they weren't interested. No girls allowed seemed to be the rule. Is this an Italian thing?
  12. The other advantage of having Camera Pro as an Australian retailer is, you dont actually have to buy from them but you can take their prices to your local camera shop, or any other you fancy and see if they will price match, then you dont have to worry about grey market, you have the proper manufactures warranty and dont have to post it all the way to Camera Pro in Qld if something goes wrong with it.
  13. I didn't like the blokes photo at all, with that line going right through the middle, and I dont think he captured the 50's look at all. I think they chose the right one as the winner.
  14. Iggy Rescue has an amazing transformation of 2 whippets Dusty and Phoenix here http://www.iggyrescue.com.au/dusty--phoenixs-blog.html
  15. I just watched an assessment video of him. He seemed friendly, well mannered, kept sitting waiting for a treat, it seemed like the male was teasing and confusing him to me. Lennox didn't seem to know what the man wanted him to do, neither did I.
  16. Oh my! they are the cutest, and your photos are just brilliant.
  17. I think she might be the dog poo vigilante, this sounds like her voice again.
  18. me too, she's cute. I hope the girl in the car isn't some scary Russian mafiosos girlfriend or lil miss cutie pie better start running, and hiding.
  19. I'm just trying to get used to this lens. Here's some I took yesterday. IMG_1901dppt by kirislin, on Flickr IMG_1910dppt by kirislin, on Flickr IMG_1917dppt by kirislin, on Flickr
  20. according to camera pro the rrp price is cheaper than JB are offering it. http://camerapro.net.au/nikon-d3200-18105mm-black-australian-stock-order-p-5194.html what you can do is go into your local camera shop and tell them what camera pro are selling it for and ask if they will price match, if they wont, just buy it from camera pro.
  21. I saw a doco a few years ago about an outback country town and it showed the council worker do this to a frightened whimpering little terrier, they made no secret of it, so I assumed it must be legal, I wish there'd been a warning about it at the start of the program, I probably wouldn't have watched it if I'd known what was about to happen.
  22. whippets can definitely get fat and there's nothing worse. I've seen plenty of fatties, they look like blimps with legs.
  23. I think you are wrong and the lady was on the right track. It's actually the incredibly rare teacup black samoyed, I'm surprised you haven't heard of them.
