  1. Isn't it lovely - I want one but also want a macro lens.. My sigma 17-70 IS also a macro lens maybe not in the same class as my canon 100mm macro, but it is still very good as an all round lens damn you, damn you all!!!! .......................
  2. It's lovely alright, I can almost smell the scones baking in the old woodfire oven.
  3. I'm a dag, I've never been one for wearing the latest fashions and I haven't done any of the photography fashions either, except for the shallow depth of field and only because it suits my style (if I have one) of photography which is usually super fast shutter speeds to capture whippets running at 100 miles per hour
  4. I really like HDR if it's not those glowing freaky blues and greens. It doesn't look real, I remember one that had an almost cartoony look about it, but I really liked it, although in that particular photo the subject matter was perfect, I recall there was an old truck and buildings that looked like something from the 30's or 40's.
  5. It was just a guess looking at her photos and going on the whippet kelpie crosses I've seen in the past. What I can say is she is not a pure whippet. She looks like a beautiful sweet little girl though, and I really hope she gets a loving forever home. I hate looking in rescue because it just makes me sad, all these beautiful dogs in there, through no fault of their own, frightened, confused......
  6. Just an observation, there's as much fashion in photography styles as there is in the clothing industry I think. for a while it was all shallow depth of field, then overstaturated colours and glossy blacks, then the lomo effect, then HDR, and now all these muted tones and creamy coloured skies. Oh, and I forgot to say, I've liked them all.
  7. I know a woman who breeds Bostons and I was surprised at how athletic they were. They could leap into her arms straight up like my Feather whippet does.
  8. She looks like a cross, perhaps with a kelpie, which should at least mean she'll cope with the cold better that a pure whippet would. She's a sweet little girl, I hope she finds a good home.
  9. I'm wondering if there's something going on with their wrists, they both look quite lumpy. Might be from the tough puppyhood they had.
  10. Wow, she's taking wonderful photos and I'm sure that helps their plight. Dont they look so much better, there's life and curiousity in their eyes now. I look in here several times a day to see any updates. Thanks for rescuing these boys and for showing us their progress. I so hope they get rehomed together and live long and happy lives.
  11. How about this? http://www.dwidigitalcameras.com.au/store/product.asp?idProduct=1964
  12. I suggest taking him to the vet.
  13. did you have the 7D? I love Mitchy too, he's got a funny little chin but it makes him look mighty cute.
  14. How can I tell what kind of screen I have. Whats IPS?
  15. If you cant get one you might even be able to modify a loose knit jumper sleeve. Perhaps have a look in a op shop for something loose enough to allow her head through the wrist, then cut front leg holes in the sleeve. Desperate I know, but who cares if it works.
  16. Can she be bailed out of there anytime soon. Poor girl, whippets dont cope well in pounds at the best of times, but stressed and freezing, it's too awful to contemplate.
  17. Love the "under the doona" shot. What's the bet they've never been covered under blankets before. Do they know how to burrow or do they need covering up and tucking in, like my dopey boys. Seems like some dogs learn it and some dont.
  18. I'd probably take a wider angle zoom if I had one something like a 17-70 or 24-70.
  19. I thought she meant the Grand Canyon, I'm not good at these guessing games.
  20. If you get the heat pads wrap them in a thick towel or something, the little thin material cover they come with isn't enough to stop them from potentially burning. I have one I bought for the dogs but I use it and it's hot. If a dog wasn't able to get away from it, I think it could burn. A friend of mine runs a cattery and a cat got bad burns off a heat pad that it was able to get off, it just chose not too. I wonder if it doesn't feel very hot to them but the heat kind of accumulates or something.
