You will get even better results when you get out of auto modes. Start playing around with AV and TV and maybe even M

yep, you deserve it.

I wonder if the breed clubs could help.

the 2nd one would be easy to recognise with that bent dorsal fin. It must be a .....I hate to use it cause it's used so much, AWESOME experience to be near them in the water. I know I've said it before, but you get to do things in your everyday life that for most of us would be a once in a lifetime experience, if that, I think it's unlikely I will ever swim with a whale shark, but the very fact that you capture it on film makes me think you know how lucky you are.

I'm not in a position to help with the fosters but I hope you can get someone who can. You do great work.

I Must Have A Massive And Ginormous Brag!
Kirislin replied to Kirislin's topic in General Dog Discussion
I asked about prints, no she only does prints of her watercolour, and she painted Tag in oils. Oh well, I have the original photo, and even better, the fair dinkum real life whippet that I can cuddle every day, that is, as long as he hasn't been snacking on dog poo. -
Death Of A Pet Can Hurt As Much As Loss Of A Relative
Kirislin replied to Perry's Mum's topic in General Dog Discussion
I could imagine with some relatives it might even be cause for celebration. It probably would be more accurate to say the death of a pet can hurt as much as the death of a loved one (human). -
Death Of A Pet Can Hurt As Much As Loss Of A Relative

I haven't read the article, I dont need to, I am still grieving over a dog I lost in 1987. I remember at the time I had to take a day or so off work and I wrote on the medical form that I was greiving over the loss of my dog. Personell rang me because they couldn't believe what I'd written. These days people seem to understand better, but back then................... -
I originally bought that pool for Tag but then frogs laid eggs in there, which then started me on my craze for water gardens. Tag still likes to get in to "his" pool every now and then, but these days he has to share it with tadpoles and little fish Mum, there's tadpoles in my pool by kirislin, on Flickr Whippapotamus by kirislin, on Flickr

I suspect all of Pennys litter love water, I know for sure the 3 I still have contact with, my own 2 Tag and Puck, and their sister Lily are nuts about water. I Must Have A Massive And Ginormous Brag!
Kirislin replied to Kirislin's topic in General Dog Discussion
I've asked if it's for sale or if it will have prints made, cause she does that with some. I'll probaby have to wait till tomorrow to find out though. I like that she's even got his wonky, very incorrect ear, she didn't alter it, so it really is my boy, not just some anonymous whippet. -

I've sort of copied the thread in the wrong place so it comes up with the photo first, you need to scroll up to see the painting. -
A lady in the US contacted me and asked to paint some of the photos I've taken. She's just now posted this, the result to Whippet World. Her painting of Tag. I love it. I hope the link works. http://www.whippetworld.net/board/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=12698&p=194681#p194681 I'm so proud, that's my whippet!!!!!!!!!!

You wouldn't think a Great Dane would be a common dog, I wonder if you can report it to council, I am sure if it's registered they'd be able to work out where it's come from and hopefully let the owners know they need to do more to confine it.
-
If she'd bought it off a registered breeder she possibly could have returned it, or at least had some help with finding another suitable home. Poor little dog, I hope it will be OK. I suggest she ask the Vic Whippet Association for help if she no longer wants her whippet. From what they say, most of the ones they rescue are from back yard breeders.

Victorian Whippet Racing Club
Kirislin replied to Juddabug Whippets's topic in General Dog Discussion
Great photos Megan I can vouch for the fun your whippet will have. I used to race Penny (aka Little Savage) and Kibah (aka Pocket Rocket) there for 5 years and in that time I think I only missed 2 meetings. There's a real thrill to seeing your very own little whippet in its satin body hugging race jacket pelting around that track and coming back all smiling and puffed out, whether they win or run last, they dont care and it's such a blast. -
It seems they dont understand the concept of rescue.

We had 6 Iggies there yesterday and 2 ran. well, kind of ran .....

Our first day at the new venue, Wandin East Reserve was a great success. Not many this time but that suited us as we weren't sure how it would all go. Here's a link to the photos on our facebook page if you want to see for yourselves.

I feel sorry for them simply because they're so dumb. It must be awful to go through life like that, constantly wasting your money, getting ripped off because you're too stupid to see a scam when it's staring you in the face.
-
beautiful photos, and very VERY cute!! Good luck to Barry in his new home, I hope they take him to the beach, it's obvious he likes it there.
-
Yes I watched it, they ended up advising people that to be sure you need to buy from a PET SHOP!!!

Rory is old enough to run, we like them to be at least 12 months old. We have muzzles for hire or purchase. To run your whippet it's $10 for the day, for as many runs as Rory can manage, just dont run him until exhaustion. You need to use your judgement there, or we'll tell you if he's had enough. Often the dogs lie and say they want to keep going. Even if you dont run him it's a lovely way to meet other like minded people and socialise your dog. Just remember to byo everything. We used to use the facilities at the Healesville greyhound club but that's no more so we're trying this new place. We wont be doing a barbeque or raffle or free tea and coffee like we used to. We will have cold drinks for sale, that's all. Hope to see you there.
