Play it safe and have the dog somewhere else tonight so she cannot take it. Get payment in CASH not a cheque before handing over the dog.

What Colour Is 'liver': Cooked Or Raw?
Kirislin replied to sandgrubber's topic in General Dog Discussion
I think probably closer to cooked but I dont think cooked liver looks like a weimeraner colour, more browny, rather like a chocolate labrador! I've got some lambs fry in the freezer, when I get it out I'll take a pic raw and cooked. -

for all of you who are disappointed that you missed out, perhaps you could start a mailing list, either on DOL as a bulk PM or maybe facebook or an email address so interested people can be advised. -
Just Heard A Dangerous Dog Ad On The Radio
Kirislin replied to Kirty's topic in General Dog Discussion
Yes! I just heard this one today, I've heard both ads now and they are both, but the pitbull one moreso, very provocative. I'm sure the ad alone will create fear in some people. They are inciting fear and hatred, I thought that was against the law. -

Hey! why dont you mention the date of your next event in the photography section and offer the day as a photographic opportunity to budding photographers. I did that and Clicking Mad and Evolving have both come twice to our days, which tells me they enjoyed themselves enough to come back a second time. They both took some fabulous photos and were kind enough to post them on our photobucket racing site. It's an amazing opportunity that not many photographers can get. -

I usually lay on the ground, be prepared to get trampled have a really fast shutter speed, at least 1/2000th but I've gone as fast as 1/5000th! To get such fast speeds you need to let lots of light into your camera, which will mean having the aperture pretty wide open and possibly a high ISO depending on your camera and lens. I hope that makes sense. I wish you weren't so far away, I love taking pics of running dogs. -

I'm loving the photos, at the bloodhound. as soon as I saw his photos I had these funny imaginary sound effects in my head of the noise he might make. Look at the hind toes on the black greyhound, the way they are splayed, I assume to get a good grip. Stuff you wouldn't notice with the naked eye. -
thanks girls. :D Yes Stans mum, the deck was worth the hassle. I couldn't have coped with it the way it was. We all love it now, the whips and I, we all like to lay out there in the sun.

Today, Sept 25th is the 7th birthday of Pennys puppies, Cloudy, Tag, Puck, Lily, Pippin (dec ) and Merry. So here's wishing them all a Happy Birthday today, along with all the other doggies who share this month as their birthday. I wanted to take a photo of Penny, Tag and Puck all together on the new deck, as is usually the case, they had no intention of co operating with me. Here's the best I could do. gee fellas you could at least smile. Puck Tag, with his happy face. and Penny, who obviously refuses to admit she is the mother of 6 grown whippets

How To Stop An Approaching Dog In Its Tracks

I agree, surely the screams of a person and their dog being torn to shreds would be more disruptive than the crack of a stockwhip. -

How To Stop An Approaching Dog In Its Tracks
Kirislin replied to corvus's topic in General Dog Discussion
I would say that just carrying it would be disruptive Not to mention my own dogs would run a mile if I even thought about cracking it... Yes, that is definitely a point. I dont use one when I have my dogs with me, you would certainly have to train your dogs with it. -

Excellent photos. Love the series with the naughty dog on the loose outside the fence. It looks like a good set up there. Who took the lure back everytime? That can be time consuming. What we try to do is have the runners enter through the top gate, take the lure in hand and walk it, with their dog on the other hand, down to where they want to start. Saves having a dedicated person traipsing back and forth. -

I should hope not! what I am trying to say is a stock whip isn't going to be disruptive in the burbs. It's not like it's going to be cracking constantly either. -

I used to take a stock whip out when I was riding, yes, it's very effective most of the time. I dont think it would be that disruptive in the 'burbs. It's just a quick crack and not as loud as a rifle. Traffic and lawn mowers make alot more noise than a millisecond sound of a whip. I know a lady who carries a cattle prod with her now after she and her dog were attacked twice. I dont blame her. I dont think she's had to use it as yet. -

Sounds like it's a rifle range too, look for that. -
wow CC, you have a real talent for this type of photography, I love the hairy caterpillar and the cute little spider. Snails are fun cause you can place them where you want, although they still dont always co-operate.
