I was surprised to hear today that the GRV doesn't require greyhounds to be vaccinated after proof of their first. As I understood what I was being told, yes, they must show proof of their initial vaccinations but after that no one checks. I am amazed if that's true, I think it's pretty irresponsible. Just imagine if parvo went through on race day. I suppose if a trainer has any brains he will ensure his dogs are covered but I am really surprised it is not compulsory as there's some pretty grotty kennels out there. **edited OK I've done some reading, thanks to those who pointed me in the right direction. It would seem they're most likely covered for their racing lives.

How To Complain To Other Owner Nicely
Kirislin replied to sallyandtex's topic in General Dog Discussion
Excuse me, can you please call your dogs off, they are frightening mine. if that doesn't work just roar PISS OFF! to their dogs, maybe then they'll get it. -
I found this, although it's for people it gives some info you could use. Probably just offer it to him in a bowl and hope he drinks it. http://www.ehow.com/how_2070630_treat-alle...ing-nettle.html this link mentions cooking tender young plants and eating with butter, that might work if he doesn't drink the water. http://www.anniesremedy.com/herb_detail107.php

Oh Serena, I am so happy you've got a new boy to love. I hope he helps to heal the hurt. gee, there's alot of h's in that sentence. Anyway, it's good to see you back, has he met Ralph yet, and if so, what do they think of each other.

I still dont get it, so I clicked on the one unlit star, all the others are gold, and it processed my vote and now you have 4 1/2 gold stars and 14 votes while the other one only has 1 vote but 5 gold stars. How do you make it 5 gold stars.
-
great news!!
-
Whats the star system, how does it work. I voted for you and it says you have 5 votes, 4 stars are lit up on your pic. I then looked at another pic that only has one vote but it's got 5 gold stars.

What's human tooth mouse?? Never heard of it. anyway I've had one whippet who had a discoloured tooth that came good and another that died. I think it was bruised and it healed. I didn't know that could happen until I saw it on Penny. Then Feather also had a discoloured tooth that died and just recently I had it taken out. My advice would be to watch it.

Help - Weakness In Back Legs And Swollen Paws

How is he this morning? -
what a great bird shot redangel. Looks like he's going to have a head on with the fence. Evolving that's a really good angle of your cute pug too. How could you not love this face. My little girl Kibah gee, the original looks so much sharper than this. Mine always seem to look soft here.

glad you've bumped this thread up again with your pretty girl Bellatrix. My 50mm is in the hospital, I hope they can find the problem or send me a new one, I doubt they will do either though I miss it.

Great looking dog and pic.

I recently had to get two whippets in at the same time. Tags tooth was only one of the itsy bitsy ones at the front and Feathers was the one next to the itsy bitsy ones. It cost over $750 for them both. I reckon I could've just about tapped them out with a hammer, when I got the bill I wished I had. Nah just kidding about that bit.

Sprained Hind Leg - Treatment ?
Kirislin replied to Christina77's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Can you see bruising? It might be a torn gracillis, if so you will see bruising up in her groin. Greyhounds vets are good to consult for soft tissue injuries. Here's what Pennys looked like -
that tiger face would look amazing if could get a close up of it, just her face.

I wonder about the accuracy of this story. I've always understood that the dog would be well and truly dead by the time the snake starts to eat it. It would first be crushed and suffocated before the snake gets its jaws onto it. I dont claim to be a snake expert though, I'm only going on what David Attenborough and the likes have told me.

I hope your little soldier made it through the night. Thinking of him and his puppy kennel mates too. I hope they all get through this.

If it's not insured against breakage, is it insured against loss or theft? ;)
