Midland vet is just off Farall road on Morrison Rd but it is done by appointment (except emergenices) but you . They even have a large animal vet there that I have taken a lamb too . However I will evetually need to know (for future refrence) which vet to see for hip scores and even further down the track, a good repro vet.

Just insured both my boys with Medibank. Quick and easy! Though I am sure I will get a letter in the post telling me that Toby's leg wont be covered. For accident and illnes for the 2 boys with $500 excess it is 34.75

Well I live in Helena Valley, which noone has ever heard of (or they think its Mount Helena ) so I say "about 10 mins out of Midland" . I think Midland has a worse rep (which it mostly deserves).
-
CnR what vet do you use in Midvale? I use Midland Vetinary hospital and love it. They were so good with Toby when he was going in at least once a week for 2 months (and he loves going there). The vet I mostly see there is an orthopedic specialst and when I took Lincoln in for his check-up she had done a bit of research on Chessies and knew about them.

I am looking into getting insurance for Toby and Lincoln, but I am pretty sure I will have problems with Toby because he broke his left fore at 9 weeks. (Would have been handy to have insurance before then )

FD26, maybe help your case by letting everyone know that: -you have owned staffords before -that you have had multiple dogs before -that you know a good animal behaviourist to help you if things get out of hand -that you will be going twice a week to seperate puppy kindy and then obidience classes so both dogs get proper training. I think you are VERY brave, I have 3 dogs at home, 13 years 1.5 years and 2.5 months and I find that lot hard to manage/train/exercise, I have no idea how you will manage with two pups at once and I have no idea how breeders do it.

Ozjen I totally agree with you, I am lucky that I have a limit of 3 dogs, otherwise I would have been waiting on the older dog to die to get a pup (and how sad is that ) I agree with you that members of Dogswest should be given concessions to the rules.

He is just so cute! I love his smiling face and the second stacked pic just shows how nice his outline is. I am sure you will do very well with him in the show ring.

My dog is frightened of many everyday things because he was in a cast from 9 weeks to 5months so he was not socialized properly. He is timid of strangers and is terrified of bikes and cars. And he is especially frightened of horses .

Hitting The Ring For The First Time
RallyValley replied to angelsophie's topic in General Dog Discussion
Hi all the ex-beginners who are now seasoned showies . I am a new beginner this year and I have a Chesapeake Bay Retriever called Lincoln. I have had him home for just over a week now and he is settled enough that I want to try some more formal training, especially in regards to stacking. What worked best for you guys? When he is old enough he will be going to show training but until then I want to start off at home. I have been practicing troting him on a lead for a couple of mins each day and I have been working on a more informal stand command. Here is the little guy doing an informal stand: -
I am quite terrified, Lincoln's puppy kindy is out Armadale way and he is under 12 weeks so has only had one vaccination! But it is in a private backyard and the lady is very careful so thier should be minimum risk (hopefully).

I am novice at pure bred dogs too. But I have to say that when I get a bitch I will be doing line breeding for my first litter. From what I have read and heard for novice breeders a line breeding is safer because you have more idea of what to expect. However the type of breeding I am looking at is like 3:4 or higher.

Me and Lincoln are entered Saturday and Sunday, it will be our first show! I am so excited, I just mailed my entry on Friday.

Thanks redangel. I find her so easy to take pictures of because (a) she is a willing model and will pose when she sees the camera and (b) she is seriosuly cute! She got the eyes from our side and the blonde from her dads side. -

This is just devestating. I know nothing anyone says will make you feel better but I feel for you and Roxy. I'm so sorry, it sucks and life is really unfair. -
I am in the 52 weeks of dogs one but I will be doing it with Lincoln (when he arrives next week!) don't know how I got in because I too am new to Flickr. I will do the DOL 52 weeks with Toby, so he can feel special too. This is week one, I love how it shows his white chin!
