I have an Olympus e-420 (several models old) and I LOVE it. The body is very small and light and if I could afford the pancake lens it would be a handbag sized camera.Olympus models are usually cheaper too.

January Photography Challenge - Launched Early

Pandii- They are bred for meat but ours are lawn mowers. They get so fat so quick and maintain thier weight on minimal food (5 fat sheep from 1 biscut of hay, 3 scoops of lucerne and vegetable scraps per day) -
Thanks for the info! I am so glad of that .

Yes they are shedders, altough more accurately they rub all thier hair off onto fences/gates/trees and now most things in the sheep paddock are a bit wooly. The adults have hair really short like a staffords on most thier body and a few bits they have yet to rub off. -
ST I have a (stupid) question. Can a Baby Puppy win BOB, or is that only for dogs eligable for points? Or if you are in an age division are you only eligable for group/show awards of that division? Can't wait for the Western Classic. But I am also nervous to be showing for the first time under international judges!

I am doing project 365 and my own rule is only dog pics every second day, so half the year is non-dog pics. Then at the end of the year I am going to chose my fav dog pic of every month and my fav non-dog pic of every month and make 2 calendars, one for me(dogs) and one for my family(non-dogs). Todays pic (inspiration, sheep escaped ) -

My photo from the 1st: Going to attempt project 365! And my Jan 2nd shot too! -
Chesapeake's are very much a dual purpose dog worldwide. Almost every top stud dog has CH and hunt titles (respective of thier country) and most top brood bitches do too. More dogs have working titles then conformation titles but almost all top dogs have both.

Medium- Large Breeds Not Prone To Hd
RallyValley replied to teekay's topic in General Dog Discussion
With rarer breeds there has been problems with OFA until it changed recently because the dogs are juged by a similar breed's ideal and not under its own merit.E.g for Clumber Spaniels for years they never had a dog have 'normal' results but no dogs were showing signs of being effected with HD . -
Lilly got a grass seed abcess under her chin a couple of years ago, she was 10 at the time and she reacted to the GA and had to have her heart restarted. She has a long coat so we are so vigilant checking her everyday now, since she is 13 now and the surgery would be even riskier.

Appointments Or Walk-in At Vets...
RallyValley replied to stormie's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Every vet I have gone to is appointments for regular stuff and walk in emergencies. Which I like. When I take new pup to the vet for a check-up in Jan I liked being able to ask for a 'quieter' time when I am not likely to run into other dogs. Waiting times at my vet are usually less then 15mins and mostly straight away. -
What breed are you getting CnR? Or is it a secret.
-
What a shame mirawee! Will you be exhibiting your Kelpie's at the classic? Or just the Lapphund ( ).
-
Thanks mirawee. Get my Canine News for Jan/Feb soon (hopefully) but I am new to this job so I want to be able to give my boss advance notice. Western Classic might be my new little guys debut.
-
Was just wondering if anyone out there who has the Gazette can do me a favour. Can you check what time the Cloverdale Teams Agility starts on the 16th of January? Also which day gundogs are judged for Hills KC 19th-21st of Feb and the Western Classic 26th to 1st of March? Thank you so much I never got my Gazette but I need to let my boss know if I need any time off.

World Dog Games On Ch 7 Right Now
RallyValley replied to shoemonster's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
LOL at my dad when I was rewatching it "Can only BC's do these sports then?" -
Guess I will be seeing you around the gun dog ring then. Setters are very flashy so maybe you will get you BIS by the end of the year! Goodluck.
-
Showdog sorry for being such a newbie but what breed are you in?

World Dog Games On Ch 7 Right Now
RallyValley replied to shoemonster's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
It was really good! I recorded it and plan to watch it again! Only wish it had gone for longer! Congrats to everyone and thier dogs, hopefull it will get more people involved in dog sports. -
My goal is to do my breeder and my breed proud with my new Chessie pup in the show ring (and not embrarass myself or the pup). Also to educate as many people out there as I can about the breed.
