Right now they get chicken mince, she gets senior biscuts, he gets pumpkin/sweet potato mash and they both get chicken frames and necks. Thats pretty expensive burley .so what do you feed now?

I tried roo BARF patties and my dogs wouldn't touch them.... and these are dogs that eat lettuce. I ended up giving them to my dad's friend to use for fishsing burley.

Ok you like herding breeds then? Well I am sure there is someone out there that will be more then happy to have you come and chat with them that does herding breeds.

Rach what breed do you hope to show one day? Because I am sure you will find someone in here that at least shows in the same ring tha would help you out.

My cousin has one and it is sweet but I hate the screechy little yap noise! (But I hate that noise no matter what breed it comes from) It is timid of other dogs and is sociable with people/children.

I am nervous but thank god my puppy is just a baby so when I make mistakes I can blame it all on him ! Plus he will be so adorable and little people just won't care what he does...

As if agility wasn't already hard enough

It's like I would be semi curious to start up a 'Rare Retriever Breeds' club for Chessie's, Toller's, Flat Coats and Curly Coats. I know Flat Coats have a national club but none of these breeds has a club in WA (and most of these breeds dont have a club anywhere in Australia).

One of my earliest lessons was 'don't go near the dog when it has food' and then 'don't go up to strange dogs'. Surely someone should have seen he stupidity of having an eating dog and a toddler in close proximity (i.e in the same room) and intervened if not the father or the salon owner maybe even someone else in the room.

I have agility on Fridays... so All Breeds on the 29th it is! I am dying to go to a show again.

ST I would love to come! I will just have to check nothing else is on. When is the next show on? Can I come and hang out with you guys again? (I think that last show had an effect on me because I am starting to think it would be really cute to get an ash (Wei coloured) Chessie)

At my first show I saw a couple of people showing in hats and/or sunglasses. I think you can, people just dont.

Just a total newb question. When you get your new dog do you have to call up and change your name on the registration or does the breeder do that? (I am looking forward to BP classes in med Feb)

Ok. I'm excited now for Western Classic I was really just scared people would be all like 'OMG look at that girl and dog who don't even know what they are doing' especially since I'm first up so I can't see how the judge likes the ring run before my turn. Will definately do Bunbury because it's an open and then my first show can be an open and the trainee judges can meet my Chessie! Falolmor- Bunbury is easy for me too because I have 2 aunties down there as well as numerous cousins and my brother's OH has a holdiday hous in Dunsbrough. So I am set to stay the night

Hmmmm RnL I might have to do it if you can visit so that you can meet my Chessie boy like you said you wanted too.. I was thinking it would be quicker to travel to Albany from Bunbury but apparently (source: my dad ) it's not that much difference from Albany to Perth.

My goal in 2010 is to enter my first agility trial with Toby but more importantly my main goal is for us both to have fun and for me to remember that is why I will be trialling. Many expirenced agility people have warned me that once you start trialling it can be addictive and that you can put pressuer on yourself and your dog to perform well, this is my anti-goal.

Well Lincoln will be 12 weeks on Febuary 3 so hopefully I will be eligable, the shows I am referring to is on the 7th of Febuary and it is an open show. Thier is also a show in Albany the next weekend. How far ia Albany from Bunbury? (Or Dunsbrough if you know... am evily plotting to spend a whole week down south staying with cousins and aunties ) I could be interested in the Bunbury show!? Where do I find more info? Are well behaved non-showing dogs allowed to attend?

Will it be a big mistake going to Western Classic for my second show and without having had many (if any since pup will be just over 3 months) formal show lessons prior? I am scared since it will be the first time a few people have seen the beed showing for a while I might embarass the whole breed! Also do many people go down to the Geraldton/Albany and Bunbury shows in Febuary?

Yay WA Is that Seadogs Breakfast thing this weekend? Or next? I think it's good to have a WA thread for all our results/ dog news.. The 'dog' community of WA isn't very big so most people here participate in multiple sports and showing so it will be nice to have a place to all keep track of each other and ask state related questions. I have one that seems too stupid to start a topic for too.. Is the Western Classic a show that you have to qualify for? Is thier any other shows you have to qualify for? (Just doing my calender for next year and working out when I can show)

I am so glad my dogs are "outside" at night (by this I mean they have thier own room with a door that opens to an outdoors run). With Toby we found it wasn't till about 16 weeks that he could hold in his bladder. After that we would still take him outside every couple of hours but now he just lets us know if he needs to go out, It had been over 1 year since our last accident... ( Why am I getting another puppy? )
