  1. And just so they don't feel left out..... Daisy freshly clipped yesterday :)
  2. I was hoping not to have to take him in again until Saturday, but noticed him licking his foot last night and he's got what looks like an infected patch. As he is immune compromised I'll need to take him in tonight to get it checked out
  3. So a little Louis update - his PCV continues to rise slowly which is good, 42 on Saturday :D We also did a fully blood screen and unfortunately his liver ALT is now raised (480), probably due to the pred. We will re-test this Saturday and if all good with his PCV then we can drop the pred down further to 10/day - he was on 40mg/day to start with. We have also started him on SAMe to help the liver too. He's a lot brighter and I should be able to take him out for a short stroll soon. He hasn't been for a walk since this started as haven't wanted to stress him out, and unfortunately walks for Louis can be stressful if other dogs are around. Some phone snaps of my little buddy boy :)
  4. So glad to here the little boy is picking up already, you are an absolute star YG for all you do for these guys I've been stalking Jordie on your fb page too Too cute donatella :D
  5. Beautiful Larissa I just love your stormy sea ones in the link, so dramatic! :D

  9. All gorgeous but this is my fav Sid is such a stunner
  10. Crestie girl looking for a foster home in Perth - https://www.facebook...&type=1 :) Good luck for Saturday mirawee - set multiple alarms!
  11. Somehow I think I have missed commenting on this thread! Fantastic shots FM, I have loved seeing your platypus photos I am also very jealous you have these on your property and can get so close to them :D
  12. LOVE the first Meerkat one I think we said that about 100 times when we were watching them  I'm itching to get mine sorted, but probably won't be until the weekend......
  13. I thought HW response was pretty rude myself! This is a forum frequented by animal lovers, not unreasonable to think someone on here would know about what type of incidences the RSPCA respond to!
  14. Aww thanks Tassie, I'll give him a kiss on his little bony head from you :) Is that even a dog related question? :p I haven't yet - it seemed we were throwing so much at him, but now things have settled down I'll give her a ring and have a chat about some ongoing herbal support :)
  15. How's Rosie doing now? Hope she has settled back into normality after her great escape! :)
  16. Poor GSP, hope she is found soon Louis update - his pcv has now moved up to 40 and no spherocytes or agglutination of the blood :D He still has a mild inflammatory response but over all responding very well so far His pred has been dropped down to 15mg/day day now - he was on 40mg/day to start with! His drinking and peeing is almost back to normal, but his muscle wastage will take a while to recover. He is also still on cyclosporine and melatonin. He is eating well and is bright, but still has to be kept nice and quiet - not hard really as I think he's still feeling pretty weak. I've learnt a lot about IMHA over the past month - it is a shit of a condition and wouldn't wish it on anyone. He has made it through the initial danger period though, so fingers crossed he is one of the 20% that make it past 6 months Pics to show his little chicken legs and big belly - You can't see his temporal muscles, but they have disappeared and he has big bony hollows above his eyes
  17. Ok, how the heck did you get such great tiger shots through that dirty, reflective glass?!! Love that first one in particular The rest are super too, I look forward to seeing more :D I downloaded mine last night but haven't had a chance to go through them yet, I suspect I will have about a million pics of meerkats
  18. Not true - when we reported someone on suspicion of shooting Corellas out of a tree, they RSPCA were out to see him first thing the next morning, and the police as well as he was discharging a firearm in a public place Hope someone at least investigates this for your friend
  19. yes that is odd. How much easier would it be to just text an address, rather than physically place a little ribbon. Yep, I just can't fathom that people committing an illegal act (stealing a dog) to do another illegal act (dogfighting), would risk being seen/noticed in such a way (TWICE - once putting the ribbons on, and then a second time trawling through the streets finding them)........ when they could just text an address. I mean in this case if it actually was to steal the dogs they've now been foiled - the owner has noticed and will presumably be keeping the dogs inside or something like that. So they lose the dogs. It just makes no sense, and I haven't seen any evidence other than people getting upset on facebook that such marks are anything to do with dog thefts or dog fighting. Perhaps the ribbon is for another party to identify the address. It is possible that the ribbon 'installer' is out and about scouting. Yes but why not just wander around scouting, note down the addresses that have the dogs you want and text those addresses through to the other party? Why hang around in the street suspiciously on two separate occasions if you don't need to? Especially if you're involved in dogfighting which has big repercussions. Have you ever watched 'The Wire' - possibly to avoid traceability?
  20. Thanks Tina, that's just the sort of thing I was after I've looked at the tinned ziwipeak Alibi, but it's still a raw diet I believe?
  21. Thanks pers :) I do have that as a stand-by food but I'm guess I'm after something 'meatier'.
  22. After spending what seemed like most of the weekend cooking up food for Louis, I'm wondering if anyone sells this sort of 'home cooked' diet online anywhere? His current mix consists of beef heart, kidneys, roo and lamb meat and rib bones that have been pressure cooked until very soft and then crushed up. I also add sweet potato or squash and a 'green' mix of blitzed up veg. He also gets a 'health boost' supplement and yoghurt. After having fed nothing but raw for years, it's killing me to cook the meat, let alone even think of feeding him kibble, so wondered what the alternatives were before doing this again in a few weeks. The reason for this diet is he has IMHA and I have been advised not to feed him raw at the moment while he is immune compromised
  23. Love that photo That pug is so cute! :D
  24. Oh no I'm so so sorry to read this Lhok. Raiden was just gorgeous
  25. Body only literally means just the camera body with no lens supplied. You will need a lens to take pictures :) Often you'll see deals with a couple of kit lenses included to cover a range of focal lengths - wide angle through to telephoto. e.g. http://www.camerapro.com.au/digital-cameras/canon-digital-cameras/canon-650dtkis-eos-650d-18-55isii-55-250-kit-650dtkis-australian-stock.html
