  1. I'm so pleased none of my dogs have ever been that smart
  2. I don't know who is swooning more, my dog or I What a stunner!
  3. Yes that is the moo! Thank you! She is lucky I think so too That was one thing I was a bit disappointed about, no pretty colours!!!
  4. Bully, sorry these are not the best pics, my model was not very co-operative
  5. I like the look of it with the wide padded straps Are you happy with it? I am I feel she is so secure in it and she doen't mind it at all! I will take a pic tomorrow of her modelling it with the strap so you can see
  6. Wow those are great! Beautiful, beautiful dogs!
  7. I have a Champion harness from America. http://usak9outfitters.com/CCSS.htm
  8. Awww he is adorable! I love the sleeping positions and the waking up inside out ears
  9. No dogs on furniture here either...
  10. Herb name: Arnica (Arnica Montana) Condition used for: Effective in relieving pain or inflammation. I used it after my dog had surgery on her head to remove a large cyst. How used: 1 tablet 3 times daily Observed changes: No adverse reactions Other information: Arnica tablets have been widely used as supplementary homeopathic treatment for bruises, strains and sprains, for pre- and post-operative care, for muscular pain, and for shock and trauma, among others. Acknowledgements
  11. Herb name: Skullcap (Scutellaria Laterifolia) Condition used for: I have used it when Molly had a severe hotspot that she had to be sedated four days in a row for the vets to treat. She was frantic with the pain. How used: I give 2 capsule twice a day for the first few days and then 1 capsule twice daily. Observed change: It seems to settle her nerves and brings a calmness so that she can relax. It relaxes that feeling where they feel like they just want to crawl out of their skin by affecting the muscles and nerves. Other information: Skullcap is a nervine, meaning it acts on the nervous system to soothe and calm. Quite often used in combination with Valerian. Acknowledgements: A lovely very knowledgable lady on an American GSD forum.
  12. I think that would be a great idea too please! I have always been a more 'conventional medicine' person but with my dog's health and now my cats are going through some issues I have been much more open to 'non traditonal' ideas
  13. ^^^ This is what happened to me almost word for word. I am still with them as my girl has too many issues that wouldn't be covered if I swapped now. But personally I would not recommend them.
  14. How many dogs/crates do you have? Could your parents car fit one? I have a Swift so small car but if you get stuck and I can help, I am on the sunny coast too.
  15. Thank you both for your advice This isn't a head collar but a gentle leader harness. I have never been to a positive only based club before and I am conflicted. I do think a lot of what is said makes sense such as working her at a distance and sub threshold but then I think surely a well timed correction could potentially sort this mess out too. The trainer did suggest I might consider a beviourist but then again that would just be one persons opinion too. Grrrr I am lost. All I know is that this problem has been getting worse - even before I tried the no corrections.
  16. Wow this could have nearly been written by me! I have a GSD who is now highly reactive when on lead to other dogs (lunging and barking). I have walked her with a prong however I *think* it may have made her worse. The new trainer I am using thinks that the cause of her reaction is fear based and that by me using the prong, she associated seeing a dog with a correction? Therefore making her worse. I am attempting to use the LAT game with her and no corrections. I just today got a gentle-leader harness so tomorrow mornings walk will be ummmm interesting Good luck and I am interested to hear how you progress :p
  17. Could it be bloat? Do you have any charcoal or de-gas tabs maybe? Hoping you are both doing OK
  18. I am so very sorry . My thoughts are with you and your family
  19. Stunning photo's! The deerhound(s) are gorgeous, such expressive faces
  20. I've never needed to try this but here is a recipe for 'satin balls' - apparently great for weight gain. http://www.holisticdog.org/Nutrition/Satin...satinballs.html
  21. The glue I was recommended for my GSD's ears is called Tear Mender (a fabric glue). I can't remember where I got it some show supply place. If you want, you can have the rest of my nearly full bottle. I left it way too late and I have a soft eared girl now.
  22. I feed my GSD raw and she has little to no odor. She barely ever gets bathed and people comment on how soft and shiney her coat is. The only time there is noticable odor is when she has had ear infections
  23. I'm not surprised. It was an interesting choice of medication for the problem you describe. It is used for anxiety, well that's what I am prescribed it for I just managed her now, if I know for example that my stepson will be coming to stay, I start her on the homeopathic drops. She really is quite odd.
