  1. I have a 15 year old cat (inside only for the last 3 years) and she has always been freaked out by any change within the house. I tried so many different things including a feliway diffuser but nope she still will pee in inappropriate places when stressed. She has had so many tests/scans and the diagnosis has been anxiety. I was told to try her on Alprazolam, I only gave her 1 tablet before I flagged it. She was stoned. Now I have some homeopathic stuff and that works a treat I know this is a cat but in the original article posted it said pets
  2. I had one too, bless her. I got to see one of her littermates and she had a GSD head on a Corgi body, strangest thing. This was my girl GSD/Corgi
  3. Bugger I just checked out the link and I would love to go but this Sunday is our first day at a new OB club I am keen to attend in the future though!
  4. Not sure if this will help as most of the foods here are not ones we can purchase here in Aus, but it does review RC and Artemis etc. http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog-food-index-a.html

  7. My thoughts are with you *hugs*, no advice either I'm afraid I found my girl's bed in a box a month or so ago and cried and cried...only been 6 years. Silas may no longer be with you in the flesh but his spirit and heart live on forever in yours and nobody can ever take that away from you.
  8. Oh how terrifying, I am keeping you both in thoughts and praying for some good news
  9. When I 1st decided to stop vac April & ignored 2 reminders the vet rang me to ask why I hadn't been in to vac. (see my above post to see why) After much discussion he finally agreed that vac could last up to 3 yrs, at the workshop I had heard possibly 7 yrs but that was b4 the current 3 yr vacs available now. He said that KC lasted 6 mths & others 3-4 yrs but as it was too hard for some ppl to remember this so they still recommended annual vac & also it was a chance to check out the dog. I wasn't convinced. At that time titres were mentioned but had to be sent to the US & when I asked another vet she said that it was more expensive so they still recommended annual vac. My present border was given her 1st annual vac at 16 mths then at 2+ a 3 yr vac. When I took her for her annual KC vac it cost nearly as much at the C7 the year b4. When I brought it up the next time I saw the owner vet of the practice I was given the run around saying it is only about $6 more for the KC but at I said it was more than that. We both seemed to be on a different page. Maybe your vet was meaning the KC vac. or just wanting you to come in get the extra payments. They used to say if you missed a dose you needed to do the whole series again. I wish I could remember the name of the US vet that has researched all of this including the protocol for puppy vaccinations. Are you thinking of Jean Dodds maybe? http://www.itsfortheanimals.com/DODDS-CHG-VACC-PROTOCOLS.HTM
  10. You would have quite the task then to photograph them together! Lamps should be great, even desklamps would work. I think we need to see some examples of your beautiful dogs...please I'm a lurker on the dane thread
  11. Regarding the red eyes, if you have an external flash you can 'bounce' it off the ceiling for example. I am by no means very knowledgable I just took these to show what I mean and please excuse the mud on her nose With the camera flash With an external flash bounced
  12. I feed raw (raw meaty bones, muscle meat and organ meat). I aim for at least 5 different protein types a week. I do not feed vegetables or fruit on a regular basis.
  13. I've just gone through trying to work this out for my girl. It's so confusing We have just signed up to start agility so I needed to show proof of vac. I enquired about titers but where I live they are sent overseas so would take to long to get the results. I ended up having to give her the C5, next year she will just get titer's. ETA. I was told regardless that she would still need kennel cough(canine cough) annually.
  14. This site seems to have lots of different fabric choices http://www.cozycritter.com/fabric4.htm

  17. North Shore beach is dog friendly and so is Point Cartwright/La Balsa
  18. We have a large enough yard that I play fetch with Molly, in fact it's larger than I can throw the ball! She gets a walk every morning for an hour-hour and a half and then every afternoon we go the off lead park for another hour or longer. I am home 24/7 so she is always inside with me or outside with me :D
  19. ummmm..... you could also add a small floppy eared German Shepherd to that mix too!!!!! We can't make it either, Miss Molly is out of action for another couple weeks, just been to the emergency vet and now she has 6 staples in her head (She had a cyst removed 10 days ago and got the stitches out this afternoon...guess they weren't ready to come out).
  20. MM - to me it seemed tiny, I didn't even bother getting Molly out the car! But then again at least there wouldn't be hoards of people/dogs there.... There is another fully fenced dog park in Buderim which is much bigger but also busier too. I really don't mind where or when...Molly and I are easy
  21. WOW. We pay $75 inc consult. Vet has his own blood equipment so we have it back in 20 mins or so. Sadly the coffee shop in the industrial estate has shut down. Do you mind if I ask where abouts in QLD you are please? Your vets prices sounds amazing!
