  1. Ruralpug Probably your best option would be to contact the Victorian Club nvsdc.org.au and ask them, chances are they might know the old owner and also know who might be able to take on the dog.
  2. Thankyou, that was what i was looking for ????????
  3. I was more wondering the shelf life of an unopened bag?
  4. Like the title says, fresh dry food (kibble) what is its shelf life? I can't find it on my dog food packets.
  5. Wondering if someone knows a good dog chiro around the Hervey Bay region. Im willing to go for a drive if i need too, if someone knows a fantastic one in a few hours travel? Any suggestions?
  6. My furkids think they're the best treats available. I just roast them in the oven. Have never noticed a really bad smell, just a different one, but I can't do livers because of the smell.
  7. Some dobies would tick all the boxes for you, but would you tick all of its boxes. Dobies need training and especially while they're young they need something to keep their head entertained ie. The interactive games. They have mad 1/2 hour quite often and they do shed. Saying that, they're a lovable dog, who when your home, just wants to be with you and snuggle you. To find the right temperament, do your research carefully and your breeder as well. Most have waiting lists so be willing to wait.
  8. https://www.facebook.com/groups/257638751013935/ This is a group for dobermanns (its a problem in their lines), but there is a lot of helpful advice on there. Something that a lot of people are finding slows down the frequency of it is vitamin B, all of them. With my own boy, he still gets them every now and again, particually if you startle him when he's sleeping, but once i desexed him, they are now few and far between. Not gone completely, i saw one the other day, but a lot less.
  9. Dobermann is named after the gentleman who bred them originally Karl Friedrich Louis Dobermann
  10. I hadnt seen this one before ???????? I plan on doing the Bulla race with my kids either next year or 2018. Excited about it!!
  11. I do the dryland sledding with my dobies and we love it. Majority is sledding dogs, but a lot of them are different breeds or even crossbreds. You'll now find it in most states during the winter months.
  12. Thanks for the answers. Its good to know im not going mad. Dec and July i might just be keeping my girl home now. Ill see what happens in July.
  13. Could you please tell me about silent heats? This is my 3rd season with my girl. First season 17th dec (last year) all normal. Last season, it only went for 2 weeks sporadic bleedimg only went on for 2 weeks. Waiting for the 3rd season now. Her hood blows up a few weeks before and i know when she's on, because her vulva is huge. Have asked my breeder and her bitches have been normal, so my girl is the unusual. So how do odd seasons work?
  14. Why don't you go for a red dobie. They're not as intimidating as the blacks, but will certainly do the guarding for you. Dobies are brilliant dogs, very trainable from a young age and want to please you, but they do take until at least 2 1/2 to mature and will be the class clown on you and don't know what go slow means. Wonderful dogs, just make sure you do your health checks on their lines and check parents have had their health checks done before being bred.
  15. This is the one i use for my dobies http://www.vetnpetdirect.com.au/BOWLERGO#.VlD2jMsZ7qA
  16. Its a pity, none of us have taken a video looking back on all the dogs and sledders at the start of the race. The dogs are super keen, so keen, they're singing (or my guy sounds like a cartoon dog barking, or a seal) and we have to have handlers holding them, because they are waiting not so patiently for their turn. They love it and are very excited to take off.
  17. Thankyou for the reminder. I thought all of my dogs were good and up to date, but i ran them through it, just to check. Turns out, i hadn't done anything with my 18 month old girl, on the system she was still known as red girl and no names on there, just had my breeders number. This wouldn't have been a drama in worst case scenario, as i get on well with her, but still. It was obviously a case of, I'll get to it, but never did, but obviously thought i did.
  18. That's the one ???????????? This one  Don't half strap your go-pro on when sun is not fully up and distracted :D
  19. Hey Yonjuro you ought to put up your rescued go pro video ????????
  20. Rather than dominance weeing, could it be the opposite. My girl is 18 months and there's still sometimes she'll wee inside, but it's usually a really excited uncontrollable wee, or my dog (4 years old) has told her off and she's submitting to him. It's a pain in the ass, but if I react to it, she pees even more in anxiety. I just clean it up quietly. This would only happen, once every two or three months.
  21. Jake just wants your hand on him, anytime he's close. For Cinder it's not human contact, but if she gets wet she tries to rub it off, on anything she can reach. It looks like she's dancing and twerking, she wriggles her butt so much.
  22. Down at Kuraby, they don't have fun days, but every event is a fun day. If your dog doesn't run, he's one of many, that come and have a go, sometimes it takes a few goes for them to catch on. Sometimes it's just a great social event for you and your dogs as they're a fantastic group of people.
