  1. Hi Dobermanic, I'm a dobie Mum too. Depends on your individual dog and what you think they'll be interested in. All of my dogs go through obedience, but we don't go onto competition. My boy, I tried through agility and for training (on the same grounds week after week) he was good, but as soon as he got to trailing level, he was too busy trying to do everything else. Whereas my girl is a month younger than yours and already I can see she's going to be great, she loves it. With my girl I have done the beginning of nose work (stopped going to that club for family reasons, timing) and when I can get money to get gear, I'll start to teach both at home. With both of them I do lure coursing and this year I have started dry land sledding with them, my girl only does the puppy runs. The other thing my kids love is swimming and jumping in, so if I had dock diving near me I'd give that a go. Have a look at what you want to do and have a go at it, your dogs will let you know if it's the right thing for them and above all else always enjoy yourself!! ????????
  2. My Girl is a Dag, she's going through her second fear period at the moment. First instance, there's a full length mirror on the back of the main bedroom door (they sleep in our room), she's seen it 100 times, but the last few mornings (it's still fairly dark in our room) she has to bark at the dog that's racing towards her. The second one is there was some witches hats put on the oval where we walk late on agility night and they needed a real telling off. It wasn't until I walked up and touched it, was she willing to stop barking at them. I hate the fear periods....
  3. For in the show ring, the black liquid shoe polish, that the kids just wipe over their shoes. Works brilliantly
  4. Rather than being them in, some vets will allow you to buy the cartrophan vaccine and give it to them yourself. Be warned though the little bottle is priced well over $250 though. I am doing this for an older dog.
  5. Been there, done that. Felt really bad afterwards
  6. A really cheap treat, but my girl LOVES it. I buy a pack of chicken hearts from Woolies and bake them for about 1/2 hour. I cut them up into small bite size pieces and then freeze them in different packages, enough for one training session. I just grab them out of the freezer when needed.
  7. Ebabler :mad I just spent $100 Hehehe and this is only around the $50 - $60 mark I think ????
  8. What about something like this
  9. There has been unofficial judges in Qld for quite awhile now and they have trained under Sabine who is a recognised judge from overseas (and who was one of the founding members of the club). From there it will go in waves.
  10. For more photos from over west here (including the clever Mouse ????) check out Amy's photos. The latest ones are from the LCA comp down in Capel. Amy does a brilliant job!! https://www.facebook.com/PhotographyStudioJoy
  11. Sorry didn't feel right
  12. Entire dog urine smells, but generally only when they've had to hold on and actually toileting for the sake of toileting rather than marking. But usually not the dog itself.
  13. I love the black dog looking at the the other as if to say "what the..."
  14. I reply along the lines of, sorry I'm not breeding this year as my bitch is to young and then usually send them to DOL to checkout other breeders. But to me reading it, that is just someone wanting a pup this second and if you don't have one, we'll move on to the next ad.
  15. Is it any wonder backyard breeders do so well, when you have people who are looking to by a pup emailing Hi Have you got any pups available, if so how much? Cheers The only name or contact is the return email. This frustrates me so much, that people want "now" so much, that they can't put in any time or effort. Vent over
  16. Long shot, but I have seen it happen before. If she's going through her second fear period and in a shed (they echo) and older dog has a dream and barks in the middle of the night or just makes some strange noises. Does she have a soft toy, that your willing to loose (cause puppy will probably destuff it) sometimes they're like a kid and will curl up with it.
  17. That's Gorgeous!! Puppy getting a hug right now.
  18. In Perth, so it'll be a long time coming ???? but if I'm travelling for something else, I can add it in too ????
  19. With my obedience club, we're playing with some nose work fun and my little girl is getting quite good at it, though we're only at beginner stages. What I'm wondering, is the competition side over here in Aystralia yet and who does it? I know it's not ANKC, but is it here?
  20. Soon as you showed Woody, I knew where you were. Look after Bindi, she's a good Chic!!
  21. Some breeders do this, so dog can grow up with much needed hormones, but can't be bred from.
  22. www.allfourpaws.com Hey Danny Know you've ordered one, but this is what I bought from my vets for my boy and I find it brilliant. He's trouble when he gets a cut on him, he can turn it into an ulcer, so this cone goes on really quick and I just throw it in the washing machine after he's done.
  23. It's a Greencross vets, but I know the vets at Redbank Plains do Tubal Ligations etc.
  24. My old girl, used to back out of the patio, do her business and then come back inside, she only got her bum wet this way,
