  1. No Male Dogs cannot wear Purple.....LOL Your dog will wear whatever colour you put on it, they don't care LOL I think Purple is a neutral sex colour *wink*
  2. I wouldn't be thinking that just because you're 2 feet away that accidents can't happen. Accidents can happen in a split second. I believe play is good for pups but between dogs that are well matched.
  3. Just a thought.... The pound notes say he seemed to be ok with dogs in their kennels, it doesn't say he's ok with dogs face to face. If the foster carer had dogs then that is a different situation than him being out in the real world and having self control and understanding how to meet and greet dogs in the real world - lot's of dogs lack the education and/or self control on how to do the doggy hand shake. If he is over excited/anxious then that can lead to aggression, it's a fine line and that may have been what you experienced at the dog park. Steve at K9 Pro has a training method called the Handbrake Method that teaches dogs such as yours how to act around other dogs etc. If you decide to keep the dog I reccomend you get Steve at K9 Pro to help you out otherwise you could be battling this problem for a long time rather than enjoying your new companion. Good Luck
  4. Have seen them before. Depends on the dog, my 2 would use it to find something to bark about.
  5. We have recently shifted our 10 year old Great Dane over to Black Hawk and her coat is lovely, have shed that bit of extra weight she had and she has more energy now, prior to Black Hawk she was on BARF. She's on 2 meals a day as she always has been, now jst 125 grams per meal is a very small amount but seems to do just fine. She gets Green Lip Muscle, she's not arthritic as such although in the last year seems to be a tad bit stiffer.
  6. I have a Skin, Immune and Mobility Formula that was blended for my dog, however it isn't right for him, there is alot there and would last someone a long time if they wanted to give it a shot, I'm not asking anything for it. Blended by: http://www.meadowsweetherbs.com.au/page/canine_blends.html The initial cost was $120 for a Kilo, I'm pretty sure they sent more than a Kilo and we've used about a 1/4 of it as you don't need to use much. Contains: Milkthistle, Burdock, Aniseed, Nettle, Clivers, Valerian, Marigold, Echinacea, Devils Claw, Chamomile & Brewers Yeast. My dog doesn't tend to do well on Brewers Yeast. It was just mixed it in with his dry food and we never had a problem with him accepting it. If you're interested, let me know.
  7. I have a grazer, why I don't know, he always has been.
  8. I've begun to say 'special needs' rather than 'issues'.
  9. Because one of my Dogs has issues that wouldn't make holidaying relaxing.
  10. Dante probably would have gone in dead dog position and fallen asleep after a minute without instruction Great work!
  11. The last 3 x-breed pups we have had as fosters have all grown much bigger than we expected, one of which was absolutely tiny and we had started to wonder if she may be crossed with a small breed. We go on the safe side and say expect Medium-Large - you never know with crosses. My Pedigree Great Dane ended up quite small and he was the smallest in the litter as well, although my breeder did say she's had other small ones become the biggest.
  12. I understand and appreciate what you're saying although that hasn't been the case with pups I have personaly known that have had Mange. I hope for this pup it becomes a healthy adult....I wouldn't choose that pup for myself though.
  13. 1. Don't conclude that because your neighbours complained they are dog haters. I hate barking dogs too, especially at night. 2. Go and THANK (yes, you read that right, thank) your neighbours for bringing the problem to your attention (beats dealing with a ranger) and ask them to keep a diary of when the dog is barking. 3. Lose the "my dog is well trained and obedient therefore it won't bark" idea. I live next door to a working police dog - he is highly trained and obedient and barks his head off given half a chance. 4. Sleep your dog inside (garage, laundry where ever) for a week and ask your neighbour to tell you if that's made a difference. Then both of you will know if its your dog that's keeping people up. I suggest you act on the assumption that it is your dog until proven otherwise. x1
  14. We recently had a barking complaint....2 and 3am.....dogs sleep at the bottom of the bed. Some people typically get over dramatic during their reports because they're pissed off as it is.
  15. I have an adult dog with a poor immune system and he had Mange for 3 months and that was treating with all the normal treatments, because he is an allergic dog he's on Cortisone which doesn't help Mange quiet down. I would strongly suggest you get these pups to the Vets and advise your puppy buyers, personaly I wouldn't be interested in purchasing a puppy withMange as it's fairly indicative of a poor immune system which could mean a life time of reaccurances, allergies and a bunch of other immune system related problems.
  16. Great Danes Small-Medium Yard Walk everyday My dogs use the backyard as a toilet and that is all, they are forced outside. Dogs don't self exercise so they need to be exercised so as long as you don't have a tiny court yard and you provide enough exercise for your dog I don't see yard size being that important.
  17. I think you should be taking the pup to a vet before medicating it with anything, good luck.
  18. I think you'll find that even though our canine authorities don't want their Breeders selling to Petshops, the restriction of trade is actually illegal - I'm pretty sure that is the case for Dogs NSW.
  19. In Danes even with Blue x Blue matings we don't seem to have the issues that Staffies do, it makes me wonder if it's more the dogs involved in the Blue breeding had poor immune systems and just kept passing it on?
  20. So sorry to hear about your precious girl, Another Angel we know *hugs*
  21. But then you're not feeding natural as you have the added things in there which all pocessed products have?
