  1. I like my K9Pro one, it's made by those lovely Armish people and it's extremely soft, had it for years and years now.
  2. If your dog is out in the sun alot and/or sunbakes then you'll want to use sunscreen, you can get animal sunscreen from most pet places. I have a dog with 75% pink nose, he only gets sunscreen if we're going to be spending a lot of time in the sun, apart from that he doesn't get any as he's a dog with inside access 24/7.
  3. In some cases the dog gets a much better home with someone they actually bond with rather than just staying with the original owner for the sake of it and never being bonded. Some re-homings can actually be a good thing for a dog.
  4. Sure! Some dogs you form really strong bonds with and others you do not. I have a dog that I didn't like until it was 2 years old and have only recently started to bond with, there will never be a true bond there but re-homing is out of the question because the dog is not a suitable re-homing canditate.
  5. There's also the FitFurLife Treadmills in Australia that allow a 12 month payment plan: http://www.fitfurlife-australia.com/categories/PaymentP
  6. I have a boy with a very poor immune system and pro-biotics has not made him 'worse'.
  7. umm as a horse judge, well i certainly does matter if a horse has a bad mouth & yes i do check every mouth wether it be a gelding, mare or stallion. i dont know where you got your information from but you need to go to a real horse show. Also from a horse breed judge perspective, I always check teeth on led exhibits, be it Stallion, Mare or Gelding, Perhaps saddle judges dont as it is performance based placing. Ok, seriously....who cares....this is a dog thread not a horse one.
  8. Depends what you class as a disability. It would be completely logical to realise that all animal regardless of species learn in different ways and in their own time and that some may not be slower than others.
  9. My 10 year old female is doing great on it, lovely shiny coat, has dropped some weight but she was porky. My 4 year old allergic is itchier on it, we'll stick it out until we finish this bag to access and then will pop onto raw and see if he gets better. I am assuming its' the Brewers Yeast that is meant to be good for skin however these days is quite a common allergen *sigh* May not be the food at all, although timing would suggest it is
  10. An an inside dog person. I don't personaly understand how you get companionship froman outside dog.
  11. The problem with our foster was because she was wobbly in the rear.
  12. You're well within your rights to use either of those meds and your Vet would prescribe them, however keep in mind there are side effects from each which may interfer with your top giving its best performance on the day.
  13. I'd be conditioning him to it whilst it's not on and then my touching him with it, giving him affection via it, turn it and leave it on the table until he no longer reacts, then pick it up, put it down etc etc.
  14. My allergic dog has not done well on Pro Plan sensitive, it really does depend on what the dogs allergies involve. Brewers yeast is great for some dogs and not for others, it's a common allergen these day. Oatmeal is also another allergen that's getting pretty common. Looks like it's time to head to the Derm and do an elimination diet.
  15. Thanks. We found some information in the media and heard a news report. It is not looking good.
  16. I like Danes because they match my personality and energy levels. I'm not a fan of small dogs, I grew up with Horses and love larger animals.
  17. Does anyone have any information about Murphys Creek near Toowoomba? Heard it was destroyed. Have friend who has relatives there and cannot get in touch.
  18. We had that with a recent foster, we walked her on grass as each time you walk them on concrete you're not allowing it to heal.
  19. Have you considered having a look through www.petrescue.com.au? I think the most important thing is not neccessarily to go with a particular breed unless you are definately sold on a particular breed and just go for a dog that is most suitably matched to your dog in energy, size suitable for play and temperament and personality for your family.
  20. yeah because average joe blow knows the breed standard.
  21. I don't need a flashy website but I would like a website that is easy to navagate and I can find information and photos. They don't need to be a member of their breed club, although I'd want to know why before I furthered my enquiries. I'm happy to wait around 2-3 years for a dog, if I were wanting a dog to become part of a breeding program then I'd wait longer.
